I used to listen to that dude all the time.
Time for Sirius radio Kate...

Rutherford will put things in focus...

If anyone wants some off topic entertainment, check out TDH Strategies eviscerating Stephane Dion for alleged plagiarism on one of his September 6th posts.

Cherniak tries to defend him here, which is always funny.

Cherniak titles his post "Deep Thoughts". That's funny in itself!

Finally a right wing talk show host on a national news network. Rutherford will give as good as he gets. He won't allow some of the outrageous stuff said by the cheshire cat, Steve MacKinnon, of the Liberal Party without challenging it. A good choice by CTV. Hope Duffy is feeling better but now he will see how a conservative talk show host handles a panel of politicos. Good luck Dave Rutherford. Go get 'em.

Cool - he will challenge those lefty panelists - he won't sit there like Mike does.

Can't wait - Hopefully, they get some of the other "radio guys" to take over because they really seem to bring a voice of the people to that show.

About those political talk-shows...what is it with liberals and those dorky little bow-ties? The other-worldly Steven LeDrew (former president of the lib party) comes to mind, you know, the guy with the big Elton-John glasses. Now every time I see someone with a bow-tie, I automatically assume they are liberals. Just a pet peeve of mine. I mean, what strange things go through a guy's mind to make him inclined to wear one of those? If he thinks it makes him look intelligent, he's wrong. I guess the only exception that I can think of to this rule would be that snarky Tucker Carlson, who is definitely no liberal (I have noticed lately, that he has NOT been wearing the bow - I guess he finally grew up!)

Good for Rutherford...I hope he kicks butt!

One of the things I have admired about Rutherford over the years is is ability as an interviewer. True, he is unabashedly partisan and never backs away from a confrontation, but he also shows plenty of respect for his opponents, especially if they are well-spoken and well-researched.

Good for him. I'll be sure to tune in.

Soccermom: Speaking of Stephen Bowtie LeDrew, been wondering what his status is with the Libs, he seems to be a little less supportive of them and sure doesn't go on the defensive for them so ardently.

Hopefully Rutherford will engage more with the panelists and not allow them to chew on at each other like Duffy does. We shall see.

Speedy recovery to "The Old Duff".

I like the "the ole Duff" he stood up to the liberal flak (i forget his name, in the last election). I like Rutherford too. I would like to see Lowell Green sit in for the "Duff". Lowell takes "no prisoners" is outspoken and definitely anti-left.

Del: Lowell Green filling in for Duffy ,would that be a coup! Let's start a petition. Lowell should be heard across the country on as many shows as possible. He's just plain got it and it kills the Lefties.

Bow ties? I could be wrong, but I think less than being Liberal vs.Conservative they tend to be American vs. Canadian. LOTS of Americans wear bow ties, not so much in business but in academe and writers/journalists seem to wear them. Lots of intelligent people wear them in the U.S., so I'm not sure what it means in Canada when you wear one.

Maybe you've spent time in the States? Or you're imitating your favourite writer??

I'll be watching Rutherford, though he's an unknown to me. Anyone, it seems to me, has got to be better than Puffy/Stuffy/Duffy, though I do wish him well in his recovery from surgery.

He's so obviously partisan, bragging about Liberal cocktail parties, saying he's on his way to one, and then NEVER moderating his often out-of-control, runaway-horse panels.

One of the worst political "pundits," next to Steve McKinnon, that is, is Susan Smith, who goes on, and on, and on and is defensive as Hell. She doesn't contribute to the conversation, she demonizes the other parties, particularly the CPC, and whines in defence of the indefensible Librano$.

What is it, anyway, with "the Susans"? There's Susan Murray, that harridan and harpie of the first order who used to comment on Politics with Don Newman, Susan Delacourt, another leftie who writes for The Toronto Star, Susan Riley, a wingnut leftie Ottawa Citizen journalist who comments on TVO, Susan Ormiston, CBC hack-ice- princess, and there's probably more but I'm getting a headache just thinking about these Susans blathering, whining, whingeing, and shrieking abuse at Stephen Harper and his party.

I wonder if Julie Van Dusen's second name is Susan?

Rutherford will be GREAT. I will not miss one show.

The liberal ass who Duffy unloaded on was named...get ready for it.....John Duffy.Weasel duffy (john) tried to get big Duffy to avoid asking questions about the "soldiers in our cities" ad.Rutherford should be a hoot.I hope he refuses to be neutured.

'been around the block: Your a real political junkie! Susan Bonner(ar)? is one you forgot, fills in for Don Newman sometimes, all of the same cloth, Susan Smith is the most obnoxious and Duffy just let's her take over the show. Steve McKinnon is full of it as well. They've taken over the letter "S", a real Sh***y bunch.

'been around the block: About the bow-ties...aren't most in academia and journalism liberals anyway?? They can't help themselves! They must wear the bow-tie!

soccermom: I love this!

A few seconds before I opened this thread, I thought, I've got to mention ANOTHER Susan, who I caught last night on the CBC (it's been weeks since I've tuned in; I've got too many other better things to do...don't we all?): Susan Bonner.

Thanks for adding her to the list!!

MSM Susans
Add to our confusions.

Whoops! Sorry!

Liz J, it's you who added Susan Bonner to the "Susan List."

Many thanks to you! I notice that you're a political junkie, too. Way to go. We need far more female political junkies in Canada, which would lead to far fewer bleeding hearts wanting our troops to come home.

What these so-called well-educated, but actually well-propagandized, women don't seem to have grasped is if our troops leave the fight against the Islamofascists and come home to hearth and hugs, North American females will sooner or later be in Dhimmitude. It's hard to imagine a CEO or bank VP in a burqa, confined to her home, waiting for her husband to take her out to do the shopping.

If that's what these women would prefer to their lives of unfettered freedoms here in Canada, they can keep their pressure on PMSH and his party to bring our troops home or vote for Jackass Laydown and his party. On the other hand, if they were really smart, they'd become genuinely educated, take off their Pollyanna glasses, and find out exactly what's at stake here--for them, for their families, and for "the free world."

Rutherford will have a battle on his hand. The human cry in the G.T.A.will be loud, didn't they (lefties) get him kicked off the air there? I wish Dave all the best,Canada's Rush

The Leonard Cohen song "First We Take Manhattan", brings to mind , first we take Toronto. We have to get through to them they aren't the centre of the universe. It's time they shape up and join the real world or be irrelevant. It won't be easy, they've got the Leftiest Lefty, David Miller as Mayor and he doesn't bend from position. He won't even support the Guardian Angels because they come from the US, says the people won't accept them.If any city needs the Guardian Angels it's Toronto but the loopy left are too stupid to realize it.

Looking forward to Rutherfords little stint as fill-in for Duffy. Hoping for some control over the motor-mouths.

It would be real treat to see Rutherford tell Susan Smith--politely, of course--to shut up.
