WaPo helpfully bullet-points the criticisms of the ABC documdrama 'The Path to 9/11' on behalf of Clinton & Co. This quote is especially good;
Former national security adviser Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger said the film "flagrantly misrepresents my personal actions."
In July of 2004, Berger resigned as an advisor to the Kerry campaign after he was caught "removing copies of highly classified documents from the National Archives";
Berger's attorneys have acknowledged that he removed numerous classified memos, and apparently discarded some, as he reviewed materials on behalf of the Clinton administration for the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. They said the removal of documents was inadvertent but that Berger was aware he was violating the law when he removed his handwritten notes without submitting them for review by National Archives staff.
Berger "inadvertently" put them in his pants.
More - "Bubba goes ballistic".
Update - ABC caves to pressure from the left.

Well lets go back even a bit further on the path to 9-11
In this excellent post it is explained how Bill Clinton and Al Gore were complicit in bringing about 9-11 EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE TO STUPID TO EVEN REALIZE IT.
Talk about useful idiots.
Check it out at .. http://tinyurl.com/rnwho
Tells it all.
Seeing as how the major networks like to play fast and loose with facts in their newsrooms, who could possibly expect them to NOT be tempted to take this opportunity to rewrite history.
"The Path to 9/11," will say in a disclaimer that it is a dramatization . . . But the disclaimer also says the movie is based on the Sept. 11 commission's report..."
You can't have it both ways boys!...What would you like to bet this'docudrama'never sees the airwaves in it's current form...
Clinton pointedly refuted several fictionalized scenes that he claims insinuate he was too distracted by the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal to care about bin Laden and that a top adviser pulled the plug on CIA operatives who were just moments away from bagging the terror master ...
The former president also disputed the portrayal of then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright as having tipped off Pakistani officials that a strike was coming, giving bin Laden a chance to flee.
The phrase "an inconvenient truth" comes to mind.
What a difference between the GOP and the Dems, just like the CPC and Libs. The Libs run on emotion and fiction not facts. So when their fiction gets outed they go nuts. The Bush admin said little about Moore’s lies in Fahrenheit 9/11; they just let it run its course. But Bubba is going nuts over the accusations of Lewinski distractions and Berger is too. Berger stole documents out of the CIA and hid them in his pants. The guy is a disaster, he should be in jail, he put lives at risk by not getting OBL when he could.
I just hope that this ABC series is on the mark and not another Michael Moore distortion – I don’t trust the media, so while I want this to be true, I can’t be sure it is.
Sometimes I wish Bush would be more of a media manipulator. But I guess I need more of his faith that the truth will out and facts will win – eventually.
The fact that it's going to be shown in schools irks me.
Always check what a Clintonite has in his pants.
Good. I for one am looking forward to seeing this movie.
The truth about Clinton's complacency in the face of al-Qaeda will be a nice break from "chicken-wire" 9/11 conspiracy theories.
HAHAHAHAHA
Normally I avoid any Sunday nite movie of the week crap, but in this case I will make an exception.
Anything that puts the truth out there about Clinton & Gore works for me
Here's a prime example of how the lib-left shoots itself in the foot.
If Clinton and the rest of the MSM pe.. er peanut gallery had just ignored this, it would never had made even a ripple. Now because of their over the top reaction to the mini-series, the effect is that it looks like Clinton and the rest have something to hide.....just as Adscam and the coverup did to Martin and the liberals.
Sucks to be them.
nomdenet: "What a difference between the GOP and the Dems, just like the CPC and Libs. The Libs run on emotion and fiction not facts. So when their fiction gets outed they go nuts. The Bush admin said little about Moore’s lies in Fahrenheit 9/11; they just let it run its course."
Hold on a minute, pilgrim. What about all the fuss about the Reagan movie on CBS. Didn't the Reaganistas successfully get that movie pulled off the main network. Don't give me that line about conservatives just stoically sucking these things up.
Just go read Duke McGoos posting on the facts of the situation:
Ollie North Identified OBL under interrogation by Al Gore...Gore could not pronounce Ossama Bin Laden and changed the subject at the Iran - Contra hearings.....of course his only goal was to hang Ollie's ass.
Clinton later screwed the pooch on several opportunities to put a crimp in the Islamofascist movement.
As a follow-up to above:

I agree with nomdenet. It's funny how liberals versus conservatives react when a film-makers portray them in a less-than-shining light. Fahrenheit 9/11 was (and still is) portrayed as fact - even though many of the participants in it have spoken out about how Moore rigged things to look differently than they really were.
At least in this case, the producers are being upfront about the fact that it is a dramatization.
I am a little confused about one thing though. I seem to remember it being reported widely (I think it was around the first anniversary of 9/11) by the news media, that in 1998 Clinton officials had perfectly good and reliable information that Bin Laden would be spending a night at some particular Afghan guy's home and that he could be taken out right away. Clinton decided against it because he was afraid that it would be looked on as "wagging the dog" given the Lewinsky case at the time.
No one was trying to vilify him by saying that. The feeling I had gotten was that people were generally understanding...after all, I distinctly remember reading a newspaper article in 1998 that talked about the movie and speculated that the cruise missiles Clinton did send into Afghanistan (and I think some African country) were an example right out of the movie. I remember it so well because the article was the reason that I rented the movie.
So, I'm a little shocked at the outrage over a dramatization showing this. I thought it had been accepted as fact a long time ago.
The stuff about Albright and Berger: I don't know. I wasn't there.
OT
$300 Billion pumped into Africa wasted, only to assuage western white liberal guilt and worsen life for Africans.
Is that a footnote in your pants Sandy, or are you just happy to get through security?
Liberals are thieves!
“Don't give me that line about conservatives just stoically sucking these things up.”
And don’t leap to that.
I said “The Bush admin said little about Moore’s lies in Fahrenheit 9/11”
And that I sometimes wish that Bush would do more to defend his situation, maybe like Nancy Reagan did because her husband had Alzheimer’s and couldn’t defend himself against the known hatred Barbara Streisand and her husband had for Republicans.
As I said, I had been wishing Bush would’ve been more aggressive … with Plamegate, for example. But Bush just doesn’t seem to waste time on the MSM, letting the truth out itself over time.
But I think Conservatives are going to have to address the MSM’s historically utopian views of the world. This utopianism is our biggest impediment to fighting Islamic Fascism. I hope the next President is a Republican hawk that is highly aggressive and articulate on the world stage – like Churchill was in rallying Britain.
There is one thing worse though than letting bin Laden get away before 9/11 (if you believe that's what Clinton did) and that would be letting him get away AFTER 9/11.
It will be interesting to see how this drama handles the ENTIRE path to 9/11. After all, the last 9 months of that path were during the Bush administration. I'm sure there's plenty of blame to go around. Remember that all that time that people like Richard Clark were "running around like their hair was on fire" warning of an imminent threat of attack was under Bush's watch. When Walberg says in the clip from the movie in the commercials that someone should "warn the airlines" and he's told no, I'm pretty sure the President of the United States is one George W. Bush.
Should Clinton have "taken out" bin Laden before 9/11? Sure, and I believe he tried, even though he failed. However, I think failing to take out a terrorist whom you suspect might be planning something big, is different from failing to take out a terrorist who's already responsible for the largest terrorist attack in American history.
I'm interested to see this movie. I also wonder if Clinton et al are overreacting. Seems to me the only way a movie about the "path to 9/11" that could make the democrats look bad, without making the republicans look bad too, would be if it shows everything the Clinton administration did (or did not do) up until December 31st 2000, and then skips straight from there, to September 11th 2001. As if warning bells were sounding everywhere, and someone should have known something was coming, but then all the bells went mysteriously silent for 9 months prior to the attacks, allowing bin Laden to completely surprise the Bush administration. I doubt that's what the movie shows, and it's certainly not what actually happened.
I just bought the DVD United-93 and even though it was reviting with the suspence and underscored heart-beat type based drums thumping out the prelude to the passengers apocalyptic insight to a ruse for a Hijacking that was really a suicide mission on a flying Bomb , the Politically Correct mind set and new media fears after the Theo van Gogh murder may explain why the viewer must infer there was a religious link to the 9/11 attack.
I thought the CBC's censoring of their terrorism reports was a hard act to follow , and Chretien's denial that made him visit a Mosque to comfort the "Victims" of backlash which was befor he paid respects in N.Y. to the 24 Canadians murdered by MUSLIM'S was also sad , BUT this blatant re-writing of Pearl Harbour by removing the Japan ID on the airplanes and only offer full sub titles that don't translate the hate-speech in Arabic was too much to handle.
This over-sensitivity to not offend Muslims may be our backlash as seen by the murders and riots over the bogus Muhammad cartoon issue , yes Bogus.....several cartoons were altered or fabricated by Middle East Islamists that incited the anger on their anti-West websites and spilled
onto the Member-only forums to promote Jihadists ideals and terrorism.
History repeats itself because 40 years from now Bush will be blamed for 9/11 and Jews will be named as the secret Zionist army that pretended to be Muslims so Islam would be blamed.
Islamofacsists love the Michael Moore's of the World because they fool the useful idiots that accept conspiracies and allow more slaughtering of civilians as part of the original Bush plot to invade Iraq to get cheap Oil.
Thank God for Bush ,just imagine what the price of Gas would be if the US stayed out of Afghanistan and Iraq, $70.00 a barrel would look like a deal compared to the $100.00+ a barrel if he didn't go to war for Oil.
So one is then to conclude the following about the Clinton administration:
They should have spent less time with Monica Lewinsky in manning the Dept. of "Domestic Affairs", and rather, spent more time in the Dept. of Foreign Affairs.
Yesterday I posted that Pres. Jimmy Carter may go down in history as one of the worst ever.
I am sad to say I think Pres. Clinton may be in the running for last too.
IMHO, he punted the ball down the field much of the time.
He left a lot of unfinished business on the desk when he left office.
Avoidance and appeasement were part of the policies and the philosophy of his administration.
Waging a constant battle with Americas' declared enemies was just not on Pres. Clintons' agenda.
He had little previous experience with the American military and politically, North Korea and Yassar Arafat played him and his staff.
IIRC, there was even one last minute visit from Arafat after many, many visits with photo ops at the Clinton White House etc., that finally proved all previous "agreements" to be unmanagable for Arafat and the Second Intifada soon followed.
The most troubling thing about these kinds of productions is that so many people will take these dramatizations as an entertaining condensed version of the” truth”.
In the past it was only Hollywood movies at the theatre that could massage the “truth” in an historical event. Now these productions are non stop on TV, theaters and on the Internet. Digital technology facilitates even more convincing frauds, such as the British production showing President Bush being assassinated.
The thought that this and other productions like CBC’s Tommy Douglas, are being considered to be shown in schools is more terrifying than a plane full of shoe bombers.
There is one thing worse though than letting bin Laden get away before 9/11 (if you believe that's what Clinton did) and that would be letting him get away AFTER 9/11.
Give us a break. Clinton had EIGHT years to get off his butt and do something about the ever escalating threat from terrorism going on. His DOJ created the Wall that kept intelligence agencies from communicating with each other in a purposeful manner. Name one thing that that slob did to make terrorists worry about the wrath and might of the US if they ever dreamed up a 9/11? Nada. And, we got 9/11.
We can't cross international borders to hunt down OBL. He's most likely protected by tribes in Pakistan. Clinton was offered OBL by the Sudenese gov't. He was too busy. A fact.

When a new administration comes into being it takes more than a few months to dismantle past administrative policy and get organized. You've also got to deal with Congress. It's where Harper in now. I blame Bush for very little. Neither did the 9/11 Commission findings. The same Commission that Berger was caught loading his socks with classified documents right before his boss testified. Coincidence? I think not.
Bubba passively rode the benefits of Reagan's economic policy, always pretending it was him making the economy better. He was only forced to dismantle welfare because the Congress was Republican. He's the most disgusting lounge lizard that ever duped the electorate here. I know, I know, tell us what you really think of him.
Bubba: instead of demanding a veto over network TV schedules, perhaps you could use your supposed influence in the world to fight the problem you allowed to mushroom in the first place.
A classy human being would come out and say: We underestimated the threat in the 1990s. I regret that we did so. But I'm here to help do everything I can to solve the problem now, and I'm here to help the current President. I'll start by kicking my friend Kofi in the ass.
Glad to see that the right isn't clouded by hatred for a president as the left apparently is.
Give Clinton a break, what's a President to do when he has serious rape allegations to defend against, on one hand, while still maintaining a vigorous extramarital blowjob schedule with star-struck lefty college sluts.
Apparently, Clinton's bullying worked once again according to this.
from HotAir
Oh, please. Just how stupid do they think the general population is?
Sandy Burger's credibility rating is well into negative numbers, in my opinion. I wouldn't believe him if he said the sun was shining. I'd go check.
How the mighty have fallen when the MSM stops (even momentarily) blaming all of the world's ills on W, and start assigning some of the blame to people/places where it's due.
Clinton merely gives us yet another example of why he is nothing more than a carpetbagger.
Let's not forget that he was IMPEACHED and Arkansas immediately revoked his law license. The Republicans in Congress at the time simply didn't have the spine to go the next step and call a vote for his removal from office.
Bubba, his cronies, and his wife are the typical Dems, all form and no substance. Scratch the surface and there is nothing.
Bubba, I feel your pain.
Jonesy,
Glad to see that the right isn't clouded by hatred for a president as the left apparently is.
Thanks for noticing! We tend to leave the hate/love fests to the left.
Bill Clinton is coming to Kelowna, Canada soon. The MSM is claiming near ROCK STAR status for this, this,.. dork !!??
Could someone please list the alligations against this man. Did any of the sexual assault charges against Bill Clinton stick ? Proven in court ? If so the MSM in Canada is guilty of giving a back-hand to all women. Even just the fact that there are so many accusations from so many women, makes one wonder what has happenned to our morals. Rather the MSM's morals.
PERPETRATOR RIGHTS OVERIDE VICTIM'S RIGHTS ??
It seems Pres. Clinton is in Canada now more often than he is home.
According to Drudge just now, Berger is getting some, but not all, of the cuts he demanded to the show.
Maybe he can put the cut footage... in his pants!!
ural, I guess I forgot to put in the /sarc.
Ann Coulter covered the whole Sandy Berger thing in some of her columns. As she pointed out comparing Sandy Berger and Bill Clinton; "When you're trying to keep a liberal out of trouble do you tell him to take it out of his pants or to put it back in?"

Clinton to get custom hybrid SUV
CNN ^ | Sept 7, 2006 | Staff
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Former president Bill Clinton will take delivery of a specially outfitted "Presidential Edition" Mercury Mariner Hybrid SUV later this month.
The vehicle's customized interior includes unique LED lighting and a 110-volt outlet. The Mariner's rear bench seats were replaced by a pair of bucket seats and a center console that houses a fold-out writing desk. There are also writing desks that fold down from the backs of the front seats.
It also has individual DVD players for each back and a small refrigerator, said Kim Irwin, brand manager for Ford's Mercury division. The SUV's front seats were modified to create more rear seat legroom, she said. ...-

"Let's not forget that he was IMPEACHED and Arkansas immediately revoked his law license. The Republicans in Congress at the time simply didn't have the spine to go the next step and call a vote for his removal from office."
The Republicans in Congress( House of Representatives) are the ones who impeached Clinton. He stayed in office because the Democrat Senators backed him, and that nethead, who was Republican majority leader in the Senate, Trent Lott was too weak kneed to get past the dems arm twisting in the Senate.
Clinton was impeached BY the Congress. The Senate would not ratify. They have disgusted me ever since. And Clinton is not worthy to wipe George Bush's shoes.
Now, he is whining again that things are going to get told like they should be told.
How the US EVER elected this miscreant is beyond me, but then we have Chretien, Trudeau and our latest outrage, Martin so I guess we can't call the kettle black!!
Another source confirms that ABC caved to Fat Boy:

Snowbunnie - I've learned to never underestimate the apathy, shallowness and just pure ignorance of much of the American electorate. What do you expect when our schools are crap, the vacuous lefties monopolize the MSM and college campuses, and victim politics has been entrenched for decades? It was all so ignorable before the WOT, but, now, this rot will get us all killed.
The right likes to blame the left for all the problems in the world. Its not that simple. If Bush had read the president's briefing notes he got in August 2001 saying that terrorists were going to use hijacked planes as bombs maybe steps could have been taken to prevent 9/11.
billybob: "Its not that simple. If Bush had read the president's briefing notes he got in August 2001 saying that terrorists were going to use hijacked planes as bombs maybe steps could have been taken to prevent 9/11."
Yah, I'm sure it was a one-page note with the part about the planes in 24-point bold font.
Seriously, do you even have a clue how much material they put in front of world leaders when they first take office? They put 4-inch thick binders on any and everything in front of you. And you not only have to read about terror threats, but study the domestic economy, the international economy, the latest environmental threat, etc., etc. Just watch any new PM or President - they all seem to age five years in their first six months of office. Harper certainly looks paunchier and greyer now than when he was campaigning.
So, in the midst of a 1,000 page briefing on all the terror threats in the world, it's not surprising he might have skimmed over the planes, and spent more time studying biological or nuclear attack - two possibilities that pre-9/11, I certainly would have considered more likely - and what could be done to prevent those.
I like Bush, but I'll be the first to say he's not the sharpest tool in the box. To blame him for not having a photographic memory, or the ability to foresee that a highly unlikely scenario would come to pass - that makes no sense. He's an imperfect human being after all - but I wouldn't be concerned if my daughters were working as his interns.
so kevinb you think you're maybe a little bit sharper in the toolbox than the President of the United States of America? you fool, I pity your daughters
Billybob,
There was a report indicating that hijacked planes might be used as weapons. There was no indication of when or where the planes were to be hijacked.
Which airports/airlines should have been singled out for extra security? For how long? Who should have been more closely scrutinized? Again, for how long? What resrictions should have been put on passengers' luggage?
Tragically, we all know the answers to each of those questions and yet to this day, any mention of more closely scrutinizing Middle Eastern men aged 20-45 meets with howls of outrage. And this is after 9/11.
Place the blame for 9/11 were it properly belongs - on the bastards who flew those planes into the WTC, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field.
kelly: "so kevinb you think you're maybe a little bit sharper in the toolbox than the President of the United States of America?"
I don't think so; I *know* so. But Bush didn't get elected for being brilliant; he got elected because he was smart enough to hire the right people to run his campaign, to stick to a few messages consistently, and to seem more human than Al Gore. Even then, he lost the popular vote. Meanwhile, Al Gore was so spectacularly inept that even as a sitting VP, whose father had been a senator from Tennessee, he couldn't carry his home state. If he had, no one would even remember GW Bush right now.
I repeat I like Bush. He says what he's going to do, and then he does it. Pretty rare in a pol these days.
You talk like there really is a "Left" in the USA.
If there is it's pretty ineffective.
m. moore is out of his mind he is a slave to Satan and is trying to use bad situations to make us humans beleive in what he wants us to which is lies!! He is completely biased and has no clue about what he is doing. I'de like to see him as president, while bush was being supportive he would've been stuffing his big fat face. If m. moore is reading this....you should be ashamed of you'r self!
