Lots of Video of Support Rally

Thanks to Steve for taking tons of video at the Support the Troops Rally today, it's now online for everyone to enjoy.

He's got it up at Officially Screwed in three installments because there's so much of it.

Update: Great story at the Ottawa Sun (including a description of the "punching") CLICK

"He was shouting our troops were war mongers," said the woman. She said her name was Gail Latourelle, 20 years old. "I dared him to say it to my face.

"He did, so I punched him in the mouth. I actually decked him. I won't have anyone talking about Canadians that way. His mouth was bleeding. He jumped up and ran. The coward just took off."

Personally I don't condone the act but what amazes me is seeing Canadians from the "support" side getting this emotional. Usually it's the neo-hippie bunch doing the chanting and ranting. Considering this was a "support" rally, not a "protest" rally makes all the difference.

Watched all three videos. What struck me, besides the pride, was that I DID NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH A FRIGG'IN JOURNALIST TELLING ME WHAT I THOUGHT. NO MSM SPIN !!!

Ever since the Printing Press was invented in 1440 by Johannes Gutenberg, citizens have had to endure The Media's mis-truths, half-truths, omissions and spin. Well, no more. The people now have the Internet c/w blogs. And don't ever let the UN clamp on controls.

When I become Emperor the retarded weasel phrase "support the troops" is soooooooooooooooooooo banned. It is a meaningless, weasely phrase. Other phrases to be banned include "going forward", "building bridges" and "at the same time", eg "I support the troops. At the same time, I deplore all violence. Going forward, the military needs to build bridges to the hearts and minds blah blah blah..."

"And don't ever let the UN clamp on controls."

It's Stephen Harper and the Canadian Jewish Congress that want to censor the internet of opinions AND pornography, not the UN, silly:

"A proposal to give Internet service providers the power to shut down hate-mongering or pornographic websites received an enthusiastic response Monday by top telecommunications executives, said the plan's creator.

Bernie Farber, chief executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, presented the idea at the Canadian Telecom Summit in Toronto to senior managers from such major Internet providers as Rogers, Cogeco, and Sympatico, owned by BCE Inc. (...)"

Oh, and "Cut and run" is banned too. What a silly phrase, unworthy of free and educated adult citizens. Reminds of a goof I went to high school with:

goof: "Bob, lend me five bucks for lunch."
Bob: "No thanks."
goof: "Aw, wassamatter, chicken?"
Bob: "*sigh*"

I thought of you, Jack Layton. I thought of you and all your other left-wing lollipops who want to bring our brave and committed soldiers home from Afghanistan because you can't stomach that some of them are getting killed -- I thought of you because with your self-righteous intellectual arrogance and colossal stupidity, you just don't get it, and never will.

I thought of you, Lollipop Jack Layton, as I drove to Parliament Hill where thousands upon thousands of Canadians -- who, unlike you, get it -- formed a massive blanket of red from east to west and north to south in front of the centre block of the great bastion of Canadian democracy, the kind of democracy the embattled government and mothers and fathers and children and grandchildren of Afghanistan crave in their war against the inhumane, murderous Taliban.

I thought of you, Lollipop Jack Layton, and I wondered what your reaction would have been to another Friday, Sept. 22, this one in the year 1944; I wondered -- had you been alive and had there been a Nutso Dumbo Party and had you been its leader -- if you'd have wet your undies and demanded our brave and committed soldiers be immediately brought home after you read the following newspaper story on what happened on that day.

After fierce fighting in close quarters and casualties suffered from German artillery and mortar fire, soldiers of the Canadian 3rd Division of the 1st Canadian Army liberated the French port city of Boulogne, a strategic German stronghold. The city had been well-fortified by some 10,000 German troops, but they succumbed to the combined efforts of the Canadian infantry, combat engineers, and tanks that took out Nazi bunkers one by one.

What would you have said, Lollipop Jack Layton? That the victory wasn't worth it because Canadians were killed in the battle? Would you have made, back then, the asinine statement you made recently: "I DO support our troops -- that's why we should bring them home."
......

Stephen Harper. You're no Stephen Harper, Lollipop Jack Layton. At last this country has a true leader after a series of spineless oafs.

Stephen Harper, who yesterday stood before the men, the women, the young, the old, the new Canadians, the born and bred Canadians, the English Canadians, the French Canadians, the ethnic Canadians, the Christian, Hindu, Jewish, and Muslim Canadians, including Afghan Canadians, and the spouses and families of soldiers.

Who had them applauding and cheering his understanding of the reality in this new world -- Stephen Harper who gets it.

And they get it, too, those who waved their Canadian flags and red and white signs saying Support Our Troops and who wore caps and T-shirts with the words Always Caring, Always Canadian, Never Defeated and who thrust up other signs saying Support Soldiers, Not The NDP and Layton Is A Moron.

"This is the first time in my life I've been applauded by a bunch of Canadians wearing red," said the prime minister to laughter, followed by roars of approval. Like when he said: "Our men and women in that country are proud to be there, they are under the mandate of the United Nations ... they are doing brilliant work." And: "Whenever there has been an enemy that needs to be stood up to, the Canadian Forces have been there." And: "We don't start fights, my friends, but we finish them, and we stay until the end."
.......

I spoke to a young woman wearing a burqa. "I am Muslim. I come from Afghanistan. The Taliban slaughtered my uncle and aunt and their two children for no reason." She made a hand motion across her throat. "With knives. Thank you, dear Canada, for helping us."

On the way to my car, the streets filled with red, I passed the National War Memorial. Canadians in red were lined up along both sides of the street.

They were applauding a man who'd stepped from a limousine. He waved at them, and they waved back. President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan. He, with one of our soldiers, laid a wreath at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier.

At Albert and Metcalfe streets, another event had just taken place. People in red were gathered around a small, agitated woman in a red beret. "She nailed the big bastard," said an older man.

"Probably Jack Layton in disguise," said a voice. Guffaws and laughter. True Canadian hearts. ...-

*White feathers are a symbol of cowardice.

Lollipop Jack crossed my mind too...him and the other NDPussies...

I do apologize about the shakiness but holding a camera up over a crowd for an hour can really get to your arm.

Bob,

If you become Emperor always keep this phrase in mind...."Et tu, Brute?"

Wait a minute, maybe you'll want to ban that one too!

"Stephen Harper and the Canadian Jewish Congress"

Gee, Bob. You conflated those two with such natural ease.

Been studying your dog-eared copy of "The Protocols Of The Elders Of Zion" again?

"An anti-semite is a person who is winning an argument with a Bush/Olmert supporter."

Gee Bob a bit early for you, Must have been up all nite thinking that one up!!
Do you hear a tree in the forest calling you.
But all joking aside Bob I wish you would go up to a Veteran on NOV.11th & say that, and count your lucky stars that he or she don't lay you out.

Bob,

You don't make arguments, let alone win them.

You do however have this interesting fixation with Israel and Jews. No matter what the topic, you go off into left field and bring them into the conversation. You've got a bit of a problem there, wouldn't you say?

By the way, was this your post a few days ago?

Brown-on-white crime is reaching epidemic proportions in my community and across Canada and that is a FACTUALLY ACCURATE statement; until that gets addressed let's stop talking about how racist whitey is and let's focus on why brown people HATE white people so much. Frankly, the increase in anti-white racism scares the hell out of me...

Remember, there's a Support the Troops Rally next Friday in Toronto. Check out Joe Warmington's column in the Toronto Sun. Friday Sept 29. From Noon to 1:30. Dundas Square - Dundas and Yonge. Wear red - and go there. Support the troops.

Miss Matt: So, you're OK with censoring the internet of pornography? No boobies for you? That seems rather out of step with your area code and age bracket. Then again, I hear the Toronto Sun is getting rid of their Sunshine Girl, so maybe you Toronto folks are OK with it.

As for the quote, I can assume you are OK with increasing race-based crimes, such as the gang raping of schoolgirls in Toronto? When a dozen-plus black guys and girls are arrested for sexually assualting and harrassing a white girl, it's a problem. A factually accurate real world problem I'm not OK with, but you apparently are.

In case I wasn't clear, yes, I do believe brown people in Canada have a seething and barely concealed hatred of white people in Canada. They don't like us. They like the country we've built and our social programs and our race-based quotas, but they don't like us. And the crime data backs that up. How often do you read of a white Christian man raping a black Muslim woman? What percentage of swarmings in Vancouver are white-on-brown? Does the "Caucasian Posse" terrorize the streets of The Rez across the Praires? You live in the most Liberal, most deluded city on the planet so your judgement on the matter is worthless anyway.

Regarding teh joooos and fake racism claims of all kinds, my sympathy is not so much with the people my grandfather freed from tyranny over 60 years ago, or the people who were enslaved 150 years ago, my sympathy mostly lies with the present victims of Trudeaupia who live under tyranny right here in Canada today.

Now, shut up about me and stuff I said 2 days ago and add something of value to the topic at hand.

Bob,

I was just wondering if the mask was slipping just a bit more - thanks for confirming that it is.

So you're more than just an anti-Semite, aren't you? A bit of the touch of the neo-Nazi, a skinhead tendancy, wouldn't you say?

Gotta go out now - be back later.

bob: So what has your comments 10:43am got to do with The Support the Troops rally, stick to the topic or move on.

To really add something of value here, and since Kate isnt around, someone has to ban bobs ip AGAIN.

I watched the vid's, This is just the beginning of a wave that will go across the country, Warmington's column is a good read for next friday's in T.O.
Overall it makes you feel pride in our troops & fellow Canadians showing that yes we do care.
I noted one placard that read "Support your Troops--Not Jack Layton"

Advice to all: Ignore Bob

Ooooh, new material!

"A skinhead is someone who is winning an argument with a Torontonian"

Alternatively:

"1967!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111one"

Man, I must be the best debater ever, because all of my defeated opponents are reduced to making fake racism claims. The sheer talent frightens even me sometimes. I'd prefer of course to stay on topic, but accusations of racism are considered serious by some people so sometimes it's best to deal with them sternly.

Right On , I loved to see all the proud Canadians cheering , the VETS celebrating . It was truly awesome . I wish I could have been there. I didn't see a single NDP Talaban Jack nay sayer . We also didn't get a pile of leftest's being interview smearing the support that our Brave soldiers deserve. I have it archived ubder my favourites so that I can re visit the event.

God Bless Canada , the Soldiers , and Afghany non Taliban people , and God Bless our Government.

Kate, or whoever is administering sda these days, you are letting the trolls ruin your site. Also the feeders. Think of the trolls as being MSM plants. Probably are.

Please tell Bob that a few of us know our way around the libby/ sven croud and we will do our best to be inside thier crowds when they play thier public demo game and we shall be helping them out. Even these parent hating self styled victims can be given extra help from inside thier own group. It will be our turn to have a little fun.

Thank you to all who went to the rally, and a special thanks to the 20yr old girl for decking that idiot. Love the sign, Support our Troops, not Jack Layton. Think that will show up in an election ad. I heard he was booed when he showed up. Remember to boo him and ban him from wearing a poppy Nov 11. How long before defeated NDP candidates get booed in their home ridings. Soon being known as an NDP supporter will be as politically incorrect as smoking. At least our citizens in NB were smart enough to not run for the NDP in the recent election, and only gave them 5% of the vote. Taliban Jack, you are going down, way down.
Loved Harpers quip re being applauded by a crowd wearing red. I noticed only one CBC hostess, from Calgary, wearing red yesterday.

HOAX Aware: I'm in charge of this thread... I suggest just ignoring Boob. I can delete him, but I'd prefere folks just discuss what they want to with people they respect.

Great line Prime Minister Harper, "It isn't because of the Press that we have freedom-of-the-Press. It is because of the Military."

Also, Kudos to that 20 year old girl who DECKED the loser !! Any videos of that ?? MSM showing it yet ?

Mary thanks for the reminder on the PM's quip, Who said the guy was dull, that sure got the crowd going.
Where iam here in S.Ont. we have never been NDP &
most likely will never happen.
I was down at my legion a few nites ago & we normally don't get into politic's. However lately all the rage & the good laugh is talking about Taliban Jack, Jack Bin Layton, Wacky Jacky, Jack-o-Layton, Floor Jack, Treehug Jack(can't say some other's not decent) so you see what the the conversation was & of course we always support our troops. With the recent Red Fridays Rallys you can feel a pride growing once again. Proud of our Troops, Proud to be Canadian.
Thank a Vet.

Who pays for these things?

I have had friends come home in caskets from Afghanistan. I was at the rally yesterday as well as in the house for President Karzi's speech. As a service member, I was very proud to see the "Sea of Red" and to be present for it. It made me feel proud for my years of service to Canada. A pride I can now (Thanks to the Stephen Harper Government) wear openly. I am no longer a segment of society that is only dragged out once a year for a November 11th parade and than put back in the closet and told to shut up and suck it up.
I find Bob's remarks extremely offensive. I find them offensive, and am in total disagreement with him but I will still give my life to defend Bob's right to say them. That is the number one reason we are in Afghanistan, freedom to choose and freedom to speak. These are the fundamental rights of mankind.

odie: In case it has not been said lately, Thanks
i for one appreciate what you & others have done for your country.

damn , somebody buy that girl that decked that clown a beer .

I have said it all my life, "non have been shafted more in our society than our War Vetrans.

In just one generation, ONE, we were graced with the hippy peace-nics. How soon some forget why they are free to protest.

Anyways, who and the hell coined the phrase," Just Society ??

Ask the women in some counties how "just" it is for them. They may be allowed to answer from within their Burqua if they are with a male relative and if their shoes don't make a clicking sound as they walk.

Would someone buy Jack layton a mess of white feathers to shove up his butt for a flight over to Taliban Hell for a peace pleading session.

Who coined the phrase "Just Society"? It was the biggest Zombie and Commie sympathizer in Canadian history. Guess who? Some considered him a PET.

"He did, so I punched him in the mouth. I actually decked him"

If she were a white heterosexual male she would have been tasered, peppersprayed, roughed up a bit by the RCMP, charged, convicted, and permanently banned from the USA and many other countries.

Just another example of how women are held to such an incredibly low standard in Canada. Society thinks non-white non-male non-heterosexuals are animals unable to control their emotions, so we don't even bother arresting them for human crimes.

Again, this is more proof that the greatest threat to Canada is feminism, not "islamowhammofascism" or whatever paranoid conspiracy it is you all go on about.

I was there, sporting a red tie.

It was a good feeling as people slowly walked to Parliament Hill. This was a congregation of regular folk from all walks, etc., demonstrating that the land is strong .. ooops, sorry, wrong quote.... that the people's will is stronger and more unified than one would expect from the CBC. It was a time when the media could not pooh-pooh Canadians and their wishes.

Bob, meet Gayle; Gayle, Bob. Perhaps you already know each other.

Chretain chocked a guy in the crowd and nothing was done. Some said it was spur of the moment, but if you watched the video on TV you saw him with gloves on at the mic, and no gloves on when he come down to chock the guy. Now we know why nothing was done to him. See idiot at 5.23. He explains it all. Considering his first post on this thresd was 5.03A.M, he has been sitting at his keyboard for over 12 hours. His eyes and mind must be really boggled by now. Guess he has nothing to do between welfare or unemployment checks.

A woman was accused of being a "war monger" - of condoning violence - and she responded with violence. That calls for kudos and beers? The fact that it was a "support" rally rather than a "protest" somehow changes the way we look at an act of violence there? I can see calling for some understanding for her "emotional" reaction, but there's no need to cheer it. You might hope that this incident will highlight what's wrong with the phrase "war monger," and how emotional some people are about it. But a person who agrees with the shout of "war monger" won't notice the young woman's "emotion" as anything positive. All they will see is her violence.

Hey Bob

By your comments I can only assume you are currently interned in a correctional facility somewhere feverishly using the 'free-time' computer for inmates.

You seem to have an almost pathological tendency to jump from subject to subject with little or no coherent relation to the topic at hand. This is often associated with prisoners who are afflicted with schizophrenia and refuse to take there meds.

Before you hurt yourself or someone else Bob, get some help.

Laura:

"The fact that it was a "support" rally rather than a "protest" somehow changes the way we look at an act of violence there?" ... this comment makes no sense?????

As to the rest of your statement; The woman was completely out of line, no doubt about it.

I was referring to Cjunk's comment:
"Considering this was a 'support' rally, not a 'protest' rally makes all the difference."

I guess that comment may have been simply meaning that it is surprising to see such emotion on the support side, rather than the protest side. Fair enough, although I don't find it that surprising. It's easy to be calm and high-minded when you're among thousands of friends giving support. When this woman was faced with a critic shouting a slogan, she switched from supporting the troops to protesting his disrespect. Unfortunately she then stepped right into the stereotype of the angry, violent protester.

Thanks for the videos...and I hope the troops get to see what happenned and hear the speeches and cheers.Looking forward to their response!

Awesome videos. Did they make the National News?

Odie; Thankyou. And I am truly sorry if you or any other service memeber (or their familiy) have ever felt un-appreciated.

BryanR; keep that poster in mind for the next election. Harper's going to get a majority. Bet on it.

His speech was fabulous. Loved the reminder to MSM. Best part was the ending, in regards to the war memorial at Vimy Ridge, what it represents to Canadians, our values, our commitment and responsibility to ourselves and to the rest of the world. Harper is a uniter.

The support at this rally shows where our hearts are. No-one can change that, not the Press Gallery, Liberal pollsters, or Jack Layton. This blog, and these videos are evidence of where it's really at.

appreciation from canadians to soldiers....good one...the only positive anything i ever heard was from the vets at the legion on remembrance day...although i fought forest fires, the red river flood, terrorists in europe, cyprus, golan etc...all i ever heard was how evil us soldiers were....it's about time!!!!!

I'll bloody well cheer it if I want to. And I'll buy her another beer if I want to . Some things have to be done. They may not always be politically correct but too damned bad.

Do you think the antiwar wussies will try and disrupt the parades? i hope those stinkin hippies get their butt kicked and someone take a monster truck to their VW micro buses painted in their rainbow colors with the 70s chicken footprint on them

Maybe she was just "Mad as HELL and she's not going to take it anymore."

Blowback.
