"Liberals" ... "spending" ... "scathing assessment" - how can that be ???

And after the Auditor General's Office is finished with the Liberals/ Dion/ Environment Canada/.. TURN IT LOSE ON THE UNITED NATIONS/ IPCC/ HOCKEY STICK/ MAURICE STRONG

The climate culture Jihadists infected the susceptible Liberals with “feel good” emotion versus fact. France, the EU and the Liberals love Kyoto because it’s a false morality play for these Lilliputians to try and tie down the US Gulliver that has shown how unsustainable their socialist policies are.

Our MSM feeds the susceptibility to audiences. I listened, briefly before turning off, a talk show panellist who was an “expert” on melting glaciers as proof of the climate change caused by humans (particularly capitalists). What really annoys me is that the radio host not once mentioned the obvious question:
“Could the melting of glaciers be happening simply because we’re between glacier ages?”

Campaign from the left, and govern from the brown envelope.

Remember PMPM taking to the world stage Kyoto/Montreal and scolding and pointing fingers ?? And the MSM covering for him all the way ?? Kyoto backers are pathetic.
Spend the money on polution controls that work, not the Carbon Credit scam that would see Canadians$$ go to Annan's favorite Tin-Pot Dictators.

A Liberal program, another screw up. How can that be? Liberals have been great over the years for announcing programs and then waste millions because they are too incompetent to manage them. Think about Adscam, millions stolen and wasted, with no results to speak of, Gun registry, wasting billions registering duck hunters, gun crime up, Kyoto, millions wasted on feel good programs with no improvement in environment, HRDC boondoggle, money misused but not caught by government, new submarines, billions spent, now in drydock being rebuilt. The list goes on. Canadians need their heads read if they think that the Liberals are ready for prime time again regardless who is chosen leader. Now we have Ignatieff talking about opening the constitution again. If he had not been absent from Canada he would realize how divisive Charlottetown and Meech Lake were. Thanks to Trudeau, changing the constitution is way too difficult. Perhaps Ignatieff has no real idea how to manage the problems of today and wants to get into some intellectual spinning where he is more comfortable.

I think Canadians have turned the tide. From the , phhhiittt, Globe &, phhhiittt Mail article that Kate refers to, 11 of the first 13 see the FOLLY OF THE LIBERALS. 85 percent !! And we are talking, pphhhiiitt, MSMism here.

"the government's focus on encouraging voluntary action through advertising and brochures had produced poor and sometimes 'terribly disappointing' results."

Never going to get anywhere with "voluntary action" as long as there are so many volunteers stepping up to recite bits of anti-science and point out all the failings of Suzuki and Strong, without bothering to read some real scientific writing from actual climate researchers. (Try Spencer Weart as a source of leads into the body of actual research.)

Wish there was a political party with the courage to consider shifting taxation away from income (the rightful reward of individual initiative) and instead using a carbon tax - thus allowing the market to take care of a whole range of environmental issues without a mish-mash of piecemeal interventionist programs.

The Liberals are never, nerver, never about Good Government. The Liberals are always, always, always about politics.

*Member of the Queen's Privy Council for Canada.

That's 85 percent (11/13) of the G&M's OWN commenters that see the Folly of the Liberals Kyoto Hoax.

Oh, my-oh-my! what a complete surprise!!

The Auditor General coming down with yet another damning report about Liberal incompetence and malfeasance.

Now, how could that be, do ya suppose?

The part that the MSM usually leaves out when dumping on our new Gov't with their Kyoto "We're all gonna die" hysterics - "Ms. Ambrose has said greenhouse gases rose to 35 per cent above 1990 levels under the Liberals, putting Canada's commitment out of reach." The Truth!
The ONLY part ever stressed is that "The Conservative government has said it will not meet the target set by the Liberals".
Makes me sick.
Go Harper!!

The Globe & Mail's web poll also asked a loaded question. (CTV the other) They got shot too. Tried to skew the poll results by using "effective" gun registry. I quess they think Alan Rock's $2B waste was not effective.

Just another Liberal Scheme being exposed for it really was, Just another Liberal Scam.

It will be YEARS before we wash away the stench of the LIEberal government. What really bothers and disturbs me is, ... they "still" have supporters !!!!
How stupid can some people be???!!

..."How stupid can some people be???!!"

Stupid enough to vote LIberal because they read in a newspaper that the Conservatives are "Scary".....yes this little piece of poo manufactured by our MSM still sticks in the world of gullible sheeple.

BTW - Environment Canada while under Liberal oversight blew 700million on a systemic overhaul that was undertaken for the sole purpose of employng a consultant who was a friend of the deputy minister.
The consultant was charged with diverting over 500 thousand into a personal business account in 2005.

Care to guess who the parties to this were?

Can they call it "OPERATION IMPENDING DOOM II", or would that be a copyright violation?

What will this report do to Dion's chances of becoming leader. Proabably increase it as libs love crooks, liars and big ideas.

"the government's focus on encouraging voluntary action through advertising and brochures had produced poor and sometimes 'terribly disappointing' results."

I bet the Liberal ad agencies were not so "terribly disappointed."

AG kicking the Liberals while they're down

First she killed the body, now Sheila Fraser's coming back for the soul or what's left of that cesspool of sleaze the Grits call a soul. The Auditor General is going to be releasing her audit into the environmental programs & policies of the deposed Liberal regime, coincidentially on the day before the delegate selection in the Liberal leadership campaign & around the same time the gov't will be releasing Green Plan 2.

Of course the usual suspects are screaming conspiracy, saying that this is an attempt to discredit the campaign of Stephane Dion, but if one looks at Dion's real record as Environment Minister from the advertising campaigns, bureaucratic bungling to the goofy One Tonne Challenge, there is so much incompetance & failure that Stephane Dion will essentially have torpedoed his own campaign due to his failure as environment minister. ...-

(From Pictou, Nova Scotia)

You know I don't think enough Canadians really appreciate the courage of Sheila Frazer, nor the conviction it took to face this Monster. The absolute control with powers of intimidation the PM & the Pmo's office had. No real allies. I salute her. She had more balls than the entire commons & MSM.

She will go down as one of the furthermost Canadians ever, if this Federation survives.

She is certainly Canada's Iron Lady.

As for the Socialist liberals, their infamy should never be far from anyone's mind again. They almost unmade this Nation while reaping & looting its soul & core.

This Kyoto accord was a plot to cripple Western production, while having us paying for our economic demise to enemies for the right to live, to produce our needs. While they only accrue wealth at our expense with no penalty.

In other words a money transfer program like in Canada.

This report won't matter one fig to the people who care about the issue. Results don't matter to this crowd, comittment to the "cause" is the moer important measure.

Climate change stopped being an environmental issue a long time ago. Its a political issue, the Liberals know this, and acted according to their highest of convictions. The need to remain in power, regaudless of haw much good money was thrown after bad.

It's been well known for years that the Liberals weren't producing any effective Kyoto activities, and that every initiative that they did take were totally ineffective and inadequate. It's been reported widely in the MSN, so everybody knew it. But while they reported it, they also overlaid all environmental reporting with how scary and irresponsible the Conservative alternative would be. This played right into the Liberal supporters personalities, since they always want something done (by gov't to industry and business and other rich people) as long as they don't have to bear any personal cost or responsibility.

But though the science refuting Kyoto is widely availabe, the MSN have not reported the obvious flaws in the anthropological climate change hypothesis and most of the population still believes in it. Thus the Conservatives are unwilling to state the obvious, and instead are bringing in their own environment plan, which, though less costly, will be no more effective against this non-existant threat.

I wonder just how many of these great kyoto morons were helping fight the forest fires in southern B.C. this last month. There were days here in southern Alberta you couldn't see ten miles, could not that smoke have caused global warming not to mention the fires themselves. What a bunch of certified idiots these lieberals and ndpeerrs are with their feel good crap. We could have run every vehicle in western Canada at full throttle and not smoked up the air as much as these fires.

M. Strong and Kofi Annan's War Against Humanity goes on and on and on....

Free advice to Rona Ambrose: Beware the sweet allurements/criticisms dripping from the tongues/many heads of the UN/Kyoto hydra.

Behind all this sits/plots/plans the evil genius: Maurice Strong; and his ilk: One-worlders; transnationals; socialists/communists. ...-

CLIMATE CHANGE- THE KYOTO AGREEMENT

It is very obvious that in recent history – 40 years? we at least in north America, have global warming occurring. I don’t know of any politicians, of any stripe, who say that there is not global warming at this time. There was also global warming, coming out of every other ice age, this is not a new phenomena, they are known as interglacial periods and without which, we would still be in an ice age yet today.. Those previous ice ages ended without any man made global warming. It is and has always been, and always will be, an evolutionary process. What we need to know is, to what extent we as humans accelerate the process and conversely, to what extent can we, if at all, retard the process. I am of the belief that we of course can influence the changes in terms of reducing the rate of increase. I question however the benefits of doing so when eventually we will be powerless in preventing the continuing series of ice age- global warming- interglacial period- ice ages. There have been estimates made by the IPCC, however many world class scientists dispute the validity of those estimates, in particular, the so called ‘hockey stick’ curve.

What we need to know and the IPPC have not given us the information nor has the David Suzuki Foundation who I presented the question to, is what is the incremental “human made” addition to global warming in terms of what it otherwise would have been had we as humans not inhabited the planet. It is obvious that all previous ice ages ended by virtue of global warming; without any human caused additions, as of course there were not any significant numbers of homo sapiens present at the time.

There are other unanswered questions that the IPPC have not even addressed at this time, such as the recent discoveries made by some British scientific researchers regarding the changes which may be occurring in the ocean currents, in the Atlantic Ocean in particular, caused by the increase/decrease in water temperatures. These scientific researchers installed temperature and ocean current measurement devices across the Atlantic, from early data, they believe that it may be, that such ocean current changes, EG ‘the Gulf Stream’, may in time cause and may have in past history, been the cause of Europe’s ice ages. This suggests that it may just be too early for the world to be jumping on the Kyoto band wagon and that we as a world society should do more due-diligence (scientific study) before renegotiating then implementing this extremely out of balanced agreement on world action against climate change.

For those gullible, save- the- planet people, who blindly believe in the potential positive affects of the Kyoto agreement and have not considered the enormous negative economic effects to our country by meeting the ridiculous commitments in terms of our country’s GHG reduction commitments, it is a fact that the vast majority of signature countries to the Kyoto agreement stand to benefit considerably from it whether or not it is successful in slowing the rate of global warming,.

I believe that we as a nation, were far too quick to jump on board with the Kyoto Agreement, or for that matter too even join Kyoto regardless of the amount of committed reductions and in particular the ridiculous unattainable reductions in GHG that we are obliged to make. The fundamental problem that we had at the time, was a Prime Minister who as an intelligent? lawyer, saw only the political benefits of signing on to Kyoto but did not question his very incompetent enviro-dreamer, Minister of the Environment, David Anderson. We were very badly out negotiated at the bargaining table when the formulas for reduction levels of GHGs were made. Today we have the choice of becoming a third world country if we are to reach the Kyoto levels in the time frames stipulated, or breach the terms of the agreement.

Some points of interest:

• The only groups in the scientific community, who have studied and monitored world climate change for more than recent history, are the geologists.

• The vast majority of so called “climatologists’ do not have a BSc in “climatology”, they are a mish-mash of mostly well meaning engineers, mathematicians, geneticists (like D. Suzuki), horticulturists, biologists, environmentalists, meteorologists and countless other ‘ists’.

• Until a couple of years ago, there was only one university in the world that offered a BSc in Climatology; I believe that it was the University of South Wales in Australia.

• How many of the Kyoto fear mongers were also in panic mode with the Y2K bug?

One thing related to what I briefly mentioned earlier regarding the effects of glacier melting, is the suggestion (hypothesis) that an accelerated melting of the Greenland ice cap - could put a cover of fresh low density water over the adjacent northern ocean - thereby shutting down the gulf stream - as the present salty dense cold water would not be able to drop down to bottom of the ocean, which presently allows the warm gulf water to extend to the north. If true, then global warming could shut down the N. Atlantic circulation and precipitate the next ice age. Then of course Europe might just be wanting global warming. But this is only one the many hypotheses out there.

We need more studies, and less politics.

CO2 from Stephane Dion.

Libs need a "strategy" for the rubes in the rurals, says Liberal-leader wannabe Dion.

Three issues remain key for Canada's future: Dion

By DEREK ABMA

excerpt:

The uphill battle the Liberals face in rural Canada was not lost on Dion, who pointed out that the Liberals won just two rural ridings in the last election.

"This cannot be," he said. "We need a strategy for rural Canada." ...

Asked by The Recorder and Times why the Liberals had so little success in rural areas in the last election, he said people facing hardship chose an alternative government that "promised to solve everything overnight."

"Next time, they will compare what we have done with what the Conservative government has done," he said. ...

[Here's Aunty-American]

"There is no strong military advantage to being in the mountains," he said.

One attendee, Peter Sampson, said he's impressed with Dion's foreign policy.

"He's going to identify what is our role in the military," Sampson said, adding the current government appears to be just trying to appease the U.S.

Will a Layer of Silt in the Sky Save the Earth?

NPR ^ | September 14, 2006 | David Kestenbaum
A researcher says he has a way to "Save the Earth from Global Warming" -- for a while, at least. The idea is to do what volcanoes do: inject material into the stratosphere. That would create a thin haze and reflect some sunlight. The general notion has been around for decades. But the paper proposes using it not as a permanent fix, but to buy time until greenhouse gases emissions can be brought under control. The proposal appears in the journal Science this week. ...-

Slamming the Liberals regarding Kyoto comes second.

Slamming the Liberals regarding the total lack of forsight about looming job losses in the Automotive Sector is priority ONE!

14,000 jobs lost in one company [Ford] alone should have been easily forseen by the Liberals.

This is only the beginning. What groundwork have the Liberals put in place to encourage automotive advances in hybrid and alternate fuels designs and production?

What incentives and forsight did the Liberals have in place to encourage a smooth transition to new technologies in the automotive landscape?

What incentives did the Liberal government provide for lower emmission vehicles, similar to California incentives, home of the Tesla Electric car?

Surely I am in the dark and there must be small alternate fuel and electric auto manufacturing firm start-ups enjoying Liberal Party enacted incentives in Canada.

Just finished listening to an auto industry expert on the radio who states that demand for autos has never been stronger and that for every 14,000 jobs lost in Canada, there will be 14,000 jobs coming on line in other countries.

Liberal Party forsight and policies already in place will keep those jobs in Canada eh?

Or do we have to depend on Conservative rescue legislation in the upcoming session to begin addressing auto sector employment?

Another glaring failure of the LP of Canada = TG

The Kyoto Scam was concocted MS, mentor of former PMPM, at the, so called, Earth Summit in Brazil. This scam is not intended to do anything at all about air pollution in metropolitan area'sn or global warming, but is a thinly veiled attack on the wallets and purses of the taxpayers of western democratic countries, that would only benefit the corrupt crooks at the UN and the corrupt governments of countries that would gain from this.
Why is Maurice Strong wanted for questioning over the OIL for FOOD SCANDAL? By the way, the earth's atmosphere has been warming since the beginning of the decline of the last ice age ( over 10,000 years), who'd a thunk that?

If only AL GORE,GREENPEACE and the rest of the wacky eco-freak movment would keep their big flapping pieholes shut it would go a long way to cut down on all that HOT AIR
