"I was born in an Ahmadi Muslim family in Pakistan. I’m a Pakistani citizen. The attack on the United States on September 11, 2001 and the reactions of Muslims to it changed my mindset. I left Islam in January of 2002.
"I didn't share that information with anyone at the time. I was scared of the consequences. (...) I started blogging in December of 2004 under a pseudonym -- Isaac Schrödinger. On September 11, 2005, I explicitly wrote about my apostasy on my blog" and later posted some of the infamous "Mohammed cartoons" on his site.
He continues:
"Unfortunately in Pakistan, those who dare contradict the 'perfect' example of the Prophet Muhammed are treated most harshly by both the public and the ruling regime. For the sake of safety, one has to fib on applications that ask for religion and the 'unnatural' thoughts have to be kept away from the family and the public view. A single rhetorical slip or an anti-Islamic action is enough for the charge of blasphemy.
"I refuse to keep quiet about what I truly think. There is no dignity in denying one’s beliefs for the sake of elusive security."

Islamist Kill 13-Year-Old Boy During Protests

KISMAYO, Somalia (Reuters) - Islamist fighters in the Somali port city of Kismayo opened fire on Monday toward residents burning tires, throwing stones and chanting to protest against the Islamist takeover of the city hours before.
A 13-year-old boy was shot dead while protesting, and two other people were injured as violence raged for several hours in Somalia's third biggest city, witnesses said.
"We have been taken over by extremists, the Islamic courts have taken us by force, and now they are firing at us," protester Dahabo Dirie said.
Riding trucks with machine guns, the Islamists guarded main streets and forbade gatherings after the protests died down.
The Mogadishu-based Islamists poured into Kismayo overnight to extend their grip on south-central Somalia and effectively flank the powerless central government on three sides. ...-

Ex? Muslim? The biggest problem this person faces is having anyone believe him. They have lost our trust, as a result we just can't take any chances and open our arms to them. That is the unfortunate result of followers of that religion allowing some adherents to hijack the religion and form a terrorist, killing cult in it's name and remaining silent, not condemning it.
At this point, we had better not allow any more Muslim "refugees" or any immigration from Muslim Countries who spawn terrorists.
We do not want them here. We have many here now who should be deported. Some illegals we can't even find.
Liz J:
Your logic is baffling -- and would actually be quite dangerous if it became the prevailing wisdom.
First you say Islam is a cult whose followers refuse to condemn extremism.
Now here's this guy who risked his neck to condemn that religion -- and, furthermore, formally turned his back on it -- and your response amounts to: Screw 'im, we can't trust him.
Well, we'd better darned well try. Otherwise we're leaving people like him with two options:
-1) Suffer in silence while the zealots hijack your faith
or
-2) Risk your neck by daring to speak out against your neighbours in the East, and get abandoned by the West in the process.
Seems like you're leaving people like this guy -- who represent the best hope of our ever escaping the bleak status quo -- without much of an option.
So while guys like him remain silent the Zarkawis and bin Ladens and millions of others who sympathize with their grotesque world view, can run rampant with the knowledge that they remain unopposed.
Liz J
And how will your approach work? Caution yes, paranoia no. We need to greet "Isaac" with wide open eyes and if he is genuine we need to welcome him with wide open arms and demand that he be hired by the CBC so he can tell his story to the world.
One down- 999,999,999 to go.
More immigrants... there is too many here now.

Can't you just picture the Liberal campaign posters that this kind of idiocy could spawn?
Then let the millions of people who've come to this country, paid their taxes, and respected the laws and institutions of their adopted homeland judge for themselves whether this kind of bilge is truly the "Real Conservative" point of view, or just the hateful and ignorant crap some intellectually deficient bigot left on a Blogging Tories site.
I suspect and hope it's option No. 2.
We should take him in.
We should gently urge him (if necessary, which I doubt) to ratchet up his public attacks on extremist elements of his former religion; hopefully, he emphasizes the breadth of hatred radical Islam has for anbody not in their camp.
He should invite the ENTIRE Islamic world to start having a dialogue with itself, stating plainly that if it does not wash its own dirty laundry, a not so genteel or "nuanced" world will eventually (I'm sure) do it for them. ("Sweden Democrats" party received 2.9% of the vote in last week's general election; it will get stronger, I'm sure... too bad, fascists eventually screw up the works)
He should invite other disaffected Muslims to join him in rebellion against Islam. They just might, if we stridently support him.
This fellow excoriates 21ST century Islam (political or otherwise); I say we need guys like him.
Tony,
Good smackdown of Real Conservative. That name doesn't suit him/her, whoever he/she is.
not only should we bring him here...put him to work for the rcmp...seems like they could use a little hep
Why should he bother with CANADA why dont he come here then he can become amaeircan citizen in five years and eventialy obtain a gun for self defense

Islamic Fascism 101
Victor Davis Hanson says they’ve earned the name, so why not use it? Islamic Fascism 101.
Make no apologies for the use of “Islamic fascism.” It is the perfect nomenclature for the agenda of radical Islam, for a variety of historical and scholarly reasons. That such usage also causes extreme embarrassment to both the Islamists themselves and their leftist “anti-fascist” appeasers in the West is just too bad.
First, the general idea of “fascism” — the creation of a centralized authoritarian state to enforce blanket obedience to a reactionary, all-encompassing ideology — fits well the aims of contemporary Islamism that openly demands implementation of sharia law and the return to a Pan-Islamic and theocratic caliphate.
In addition, Islamists, as is true of all fascists, privilege their own particular creed of true believers by harkening back to a lost, pristine past, in which the devout were once uncorrupted by modernism.
True, bin Laden’s mythical Volk doesn’t bath in the clear icy waters of the Rhine untouched by the filth of the Tiber; but rather they ride horses and slice the wind with their scimitars in service of a soon to be reborn majestic world of caliphs and mullahs. Osama bin Laden sashaying in his flowing robes is not all that different from the obese Herman Goering in reindeer horns plodding around his Karinhall castle with suspenders and alpine shorts. ...-

I still have some small hope for a Reformation type movement within Islam. I find a lot of progressive (not socialist nutjob "progressive", but REAL progressive) Muslim voices on the Internet who utterly reject the reactionary mobs and terrorist violence in the name of Islam, and who want a separation of religion from politics. These courageous voices should be recognized and supported.
Of course Canada needs people like Isaac: educated, articulate, searching for the truth - the ignorance of the full nature of Islam and Jihad in this country is frightening.
But what Isaac needs most of all right now are donations to pay for his lawyer. Go to his blog, read as much of it as you like, and you will see that this is not all some con job: this is clearly someone whose revelation about the hard truths of Islam is honest and real. Only someone who has seen the truth about Islam could have written what Isaac has written. So, if you can, go to his blog, follow his paypal link at the top right, and give him some financial support. Words are not enough.
Re my comment above that Isaac needs donations, I should add that he is also a colleague of mine at Infidel Bloggers' Alliance where you will find many who will vouch for Isaac's blogging honesty.
Immigration is economically necessary. Most immigrants are law abiding people and thankful for the opportunity of coming to Canada.
What we don't need is multi-culturalism as a cause with special status and ghettoization as a result. Integration and single citizenship (no hyphenated 'Canadians') is the only rational way forward.
However, I do think we need a moratorium on certain types of high risk immigrants coming here. Muslims in particular. CSIS has stated that they cannot handle the increasing security risk. And I don't think average everyday Canadians need to be burdened with sorting out 'moderate muslims' from fascist muslims either. Why the hell should we? It's not our problem.
Most authorities agree that it's not if but when terrrorists will attack Canada. Why should we be threatened in our own country by immigrants that we kindly allowed to come here? Why should we be threatened by their children? Muslim immigration must be stopped. Anything else is insanity.
Daisy, I do agree with you. Switzerland recently enacted immigration legislation that all western states should take a close look at.
The intention of my comment was not to make a case for supporting this gentleman's immigration plea. I was just making a general comment on my hopes for reform in the Islamic world. A cause which may be better served by high profile attention and support for this blogger in his efforts to protect his human rights in his homeland.
All those who truely believe in the principles of Human Rights should seek out those in the Muslim world who are engaged in the struggle for progress. Which is why I find the position of the International Left to be the height of hipocrisy. They seem quite comfortable with the Islamist position that gays, apostates, and women in the Muslim world are not human and therefore unworthy of rights.
Tom,
Agreed. However, I'm not as optomistic as you are in terms of reform. I can't see how Islam can reform without Muslims truthfully confronting the violent issues and commands presented in the Quran and fullfilled by the life example of their prophet. I don't know how any rational person could reconcile either with the idea of a loving and merciful God. Which, I believe is the prime question that's been asked by the Pope.
And we all know what the response to that has been.
If the example of this particular blogger is to be examined, he obviously doesn't think Islam can reform either. Otherwise, he wouldn't have left.
A Reformation movement within Islam is exactly what has to happen before we can make any progress from the outside.
Our problems with immigrants stem from Trudeau's Multicultural policies which encourage ghettoizing. It's bad for them and the country as a whole. We can't lay the blame totally on immigrants.
Where is Isaac now? If he is as stated there is no doubt Canada should offer him refuge unless there is something we do not know about the case.
It may well be such a person who could start a reformation movement. He'd need a lot of protection though.
When we see Muslim leaders getting offended and sending people into the streets to protest a quote by the Pope, we know we have a lot of work to do.
real conservative sounds more like an 'agent provocateur.'
Wikapedia: An agent provocateur (plural: agents provocateurs, French language, "inciting agent") is a person who secretly disrupts a group's activities from within the group.
" I don't think average everyday Canadians need to be burdened with sorting out 'moderate muslims' from fascist muslims either"
-Pleae keep in mind that Isaac is not a Muslim, moderate or fascist; he is an apostate.
It is surely a key element of our fight to reject that way of thinking that denies the difference between religious, social and political identities. This is what Islam does such that people talk of Muslims as if they were a race and not simply a religion. We must insist that Islam in Canada can be nothing more than a religion that people are free to leave and to ridicule. And we must insist that if we are to have any refugee policy, it must be one that opens the door to those who are truly threatened for their lives just because they want to leave a totalitarian cult that doesn't know the difference between a religious and a political loyalty.
Please support Isaac, and support, morally and financially, all apostates from Islam. It has nothing to do with supporting Muslim immigration.
truepeers: Are you a cohort of Isaac? Got something going here? Sounds very much like a plot. Donate money?
Liz,
I only know Isaac from blogging. We're both members of the Infidel Bloggers' Alliance - I left the link and a comment in an earlier attempt to post, but apparently this site does not presently allow links. I'm 99% sure Isaac's story is legitimate - I find it very hard to believe someone would spin such an elaborate blogging web just to fund raise a few bucks (and besides, he has told me his apparently real name, his Canadian home town, and his lawyer, though I have not tried to verify this information since I trust him). And if he were a Muslim somehow trying to trick us, what would be the point of portraying Islam in the hard and brutal light of truth that Isaac does? Isaac's revelation about Islam is real, whatever the purpose its communicaiton is intending to serve, and I don't see how you can have such a revelation if you are a sincerely devout Muslim. It's the vision of someone from the outside.
There are many noted bloggers who feel the same way and who have posted on Isaac's struggle. If we can't build up trust relationships that mean something in the real world, then all this blogging is for naught.
We also have to work at defeating the leftists at their own game; and becoming organized as conservatives in advocacy for the human rights of apostates and others that the leftists prefer to ignore - as they devote far too much of their energy to denouncing the west and not the serious hell holes like Pakistan where most of the women in prison are rape victims blamed for their rapes - seems to me something conservative bloggers should do. And if we are Canadians who profess any regard for refugees, surely we should want to support those refugees who share our values and truly want to join the modern world.
truepeers,
I think you misunderstood my comment. However, I do agree with you about helping apostates like Isaac.
