This was a story on the CBC national at 6:30 - probably in the evening broadcast as well. They are NOT hiding it, like your post implies. They made it very clear that the Harper government was happy to see him go.

My post didn't "imply" anything. It clearly mentioned and linked to the CBC website, where, at time of writing, it was mentioned only as a one liner under Arts And Entertainment.

I don't watch CBC news at 6, or at any other time.

From what I can gather he was trying to be funny, yet everyone is concerned about his information and where it came from. The National Post states that the info came from the internet but it was false. They don't state if it is completely false or just parts of it. The Montreal Lebanese community is furious and threatening to sue.

I can't help but think that if some fanatic was spewing the same about Catholic Priests, the CBC would be calling on the humane society to investigate. Probably file a sexual discrimination complaint on behalf of the poor sheep.

As far as bowel movements, reminds me of some of the comments on LGF tonight about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the halo around him (due to green hummus farts apparently) and that he is being called the leader of the New World Odor.

If anything you should be looking at the immigration policy and how easy it is to get a citizenship by doing a fly-by. If PMSH manages to replace Fournier with someone whose views more accurately reflect those of the, ah, not-truly-Canadians who carry on outside of 416/Quebec, we will likely be treated to the spectre of CBC reporters and their media cohorts campaigning against the new choice.

Which would be great. FYI - the CBC made it clear the Harper government was happy about it by actually showing the Minister announce it in Parliament, and showing the Conservative MP's cheering. Sounds to me like the "same old CBC" was showing us the truth. Do you honestly think the Harper government is not happy? Should the CBC just hide the facts on this one?
