Baghdad is in lock down with gun battles in the streets and military aircraft overhead. BBC gives us what it can, and Iraq the Model hints at what it all could be. I’m personally curious if this might be the anticipated showdown between Muqtada Al-Sadr and the Iraqi Government. Sadr did threaten to bring down the government during Friday prayers.
Update: CLICK

It's long past time to remove Al Sadr from the equasion, irregardless how he's removed.
I agree with you about fatso Boss429 but I hate to break it to you: there's no such word as "irregardless."
And, while we're on the topic of language let's address a few matters:
Don't use "then" when you mean "than", or "less"
when you mean "fewer", or "with regards to" when you mean "with regard to".
And avoid expressions like "youze guys' and "da proof is da proof" and 'I like Jack Layton".
In all other respects carry on.
Osama, in his recent warnings message did say the heaviness will come down in Iraq and Afghanistan to start with.
Obviously, they want to clear their own *house* before they move to * our house *.
Logically we must really put our shoulder to it and remove Muqtada Al-Sadr and his black bands running about kidnapping and lopping off heads of non-payers.

you're correct Terry, allow me to correct myself. It's long past time to remove Al Sadr from the equasion, regardless how he's removed.
Acceptable Ferry?
Boss, I don't need to be told I'm correct. I'm always correct on spelling and grammar. (I was taught by Nuns.)
You ask whether your post is acceptable.
Unfortunately it's not. I note 7 mistakes. But you were probably taught by trade unionists more concerned with their income and fringe benefits than your education. So don't take it too hard, Loss.
Terry...doesn't bother me at all...doesn't bother me that I earned my BSME at Purdue, doesn't bother me that I design brake systems for heavy trucks, now that you know that will you be paying more attention to your rear view?
Terry: You are being an arrogant jerk... cool it.
Plus... your chosen personal attack has nothing to do with the topic. If it's perfect grammar and spelling you want... go back to your nuns.
Debris Trail
Who asked for your up tight humourless opinion? Boss and I were having a little fun as is obvious by his last comment.
How was I to know that someone with no sense of humour would be grinding her teeth over every word? If you don't appreciate my posts, don't read them. Or take more meds.
Whoa, whoa, hold on there compadres.
Time to slowly walk over to the fridge,
grab a nice cold beer, pop 'er open and take a sip,
now,
doesn't that feel better.
OK...commence rational discourse.

Terry, I'll let Boss be the judge of that. If he was enjoying it all, fine... if not, my comments stand.
I fully agree with Boss. The al-Sadr militia, and all other terrorist militias must be erradicated with extreme prejudice for Iraq to move forward as a democratic state. I sincerely hope this is a sign the Iraqi government understands that fact. This is a defining moment in the evolution of Iraq.
The big problem I see, is that it is the Iraqi army that must do the heavy lifting in any fight with Sadr. A fight with the Americans could spark an uprising in the entire Shia region, threatening the long supply lines to Kuwait and British in Basra. That's the only reason I see for the tepid reaction the Americans have had towards Sadr. I think this is all more explosive than we realize.
Debris Trail,
**A little more explosive than we realize**
Now that is this years understatement.
Russian bombers are flying over the pole to our air space to raise our air defences.
That is a muscle flexing in times of some stress to guage our response quickness, direction and numbers.
The report is at Bendgovernment.blogspot.com
China can not afford to have oil shipping stopped by US subs in the gulf so Pakistan is building multi - Billion$ pipe lines to feed China over land.
Pakistan is also finishing a massive natural gas line for Iran*s benefit.

And you thought Musharraf was on our side?
Just kidding. You know better than that.

al Sadr is trying to do the same thing in Iraq that Nashrallah guy did in Lebanon. Time for the cure, feed him a five hundred pounder. If the Iraq government doesn't do this soon, it may be too late.
Iran is behind both, so in the end, the nutjob in Iran is going to have to go. Can you imagine what it would be like living in Iraq next to this idiot with a nuke that he refers to everyday as his buddy? Hey you don't do what I want, gonna send my buddy over to help you out.
Cute cartoon in the Lethbridge Herald today.
A school bus loaded with jihadists, filling up with Iraqi gas. Sign on side of bus says,
Jhiad Recruitment, destination Paradise. Top is loaded with bombs, etc. Wait for the outrage. It is way past time we started to make fun of these idiots. Start treating them like they treat others. Even Nancy Pelosi said we should apply the golden rule to them. So, bomb their mosques,
bomb them when they gather anywhere. I will stop short of beheading anyone, but they better learn they are not welcome in this world.
