Reader Tips

I’m heading out for the remainder of the weekend, so this is all you get until Tuesday. Maybe I’ll run into you at the Riders-Bomber game. (I’ll be the one without green face paint.) If I can get computer access, I’ll do my best to free up comments caught by the filter, but no promises.
Besides, it’s much too nice a weekend to be reading blogs – get out and enjoy it before it’s gone.
And a reminder to keep sending those entries in for the Kate-O-Shop contest!

  2. Dave M is quite correct. There was never any drugs in the world until the evil americans and their allies (and the yes-man countries) perpertrated these acts of maliciousness against Afganistan and Iraq.
    *rolls eyes*
The drug trade (supported and even run by some governments) also results from not being able to exert control over the territory that they own. The Taliban exerted that control, but supported the trade (for their cut).
The new government is working with NATO and the UN to try and exert their soveriegnty over their territory. This cannot be done without the help of Afganie allies (like us) helping to build (not rebuild) schools, wells and other infrastructure; not to mention providing protection for those buildings while we help build and train a sovereign Afganie army.
Wakie Jacke wants a balanced approach? Whats balanced about watching the school you just built burned to the ground by the Taliban as they behead teachers are out in the playground??
I wish we didn’t have to put our people in danger, but I am grateful when those same troops are willing to stand up and fight for not only my rights but for the (Basic human) rights of those in need. Even more I wish people like Jack believed in those rights for everyone. (Not just those he likes)

  3. ET, you said:
“If the choice of a particular religion is made only by a threat to one’s life, then the content of that particular religion is irrelevant. The meaning of the act of conversion rests solely and only within the physical preservation of one’s life. The religion itself is meaningless.”
No, you are completely missing the point. In our Western minds, what you say is correct.
For muslims, however, forced conversion is quite legitimate. There may be one, and only one, sura in the koran that speaks against coercion, but the history of the religion is just that, forced conversion. And there are plenty iof suras in the koran that extol extermination of the non-muslim.
A mistake so many Westerners make is to assume that the enemy holds the same values. Muslims do not.
Islam is not a peaceful religion. It is a totalitarian ideology bent on world domination.
    Wake up Leftoids.

  4. ET, in saying:
“I think this disinterest in life and living is revealed in the Islamic disinterest in science, in knowledge, in questions, in exploration of our world – as well as in their focus on massacres, revenge killings, repressive social and political modes and rejection of other views.”
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Why muslims do not value life is because, over millenia, their lives have been shit.
They are told what to do, how to piss and shit, ruled over by ruthless plundering killers, and even their religion doesn’t provide hope.
External influences, such as western science and philosophy, are prohibited as they would undermine the power of the rulers over the populace. It is the ultimate, totalitarian philosophy.
Their prophet mohamed was the archetype of the islamic ruler, a pediophile, mass-murdering two-bit bandit.
With mohamad as the model, and indoctrination from the cradle, there is no opening for life.

  5. wimpy canadian – I’m not a ‘leftoid’.
I am saying that IF you have a belief system that is not interested in its axioms, and is only interested in the number, and an increasing number, of ‘faithful followers’, then, the beliefs are irrelevant. All that matters is those numbers of braindead enslaved.
They are braindead because the beliefs are not relevant. What is relevant is only that they are enslaved. One must then ask – why does such a system emerge?
I suggest that Islam emerged, after Christianity, as a regressive social tactic to prevent the booming development of a larger social and economic system that was changing the Middle East socioeconomic lifestyles.
Christianity, as an ideology, is based around free will and collaboration and networking with one’s neighbours. That was exactly the requirement in the 2nd, 3rd centuries, with an expanding population, a requirement for a collaborative economy, a view that others were not enemies but co-workers. This mindset is exploratory, interactive and economically expansionist and promoting changes in lifestyle.
Islam developed, I suggest, as a reaction to the social and economic expansion of Christianity. Islam is about closed groups, no change, a rejection of others, a viewing of others as enemies, a view that forced conversion will move them into the no-change economic mode of the nomadic arab.
In other words, the emergence of both religions and their conflict has more to do with the economic and social realities than the metaphysical.
Conversion by force has nothing to do with the axioms, but with ensuring that the converted people do not participate in a changing and dynamic economy…that was possibly harming the nomadic economy of the arabs.
Same thing now. The Islamic states don’t want to move out of tribalism and into a modern democracy, because the tribal elite fear their loss of power.

  6. Ex-liberal, good point:
“Correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t think a single mullah or Islamic religious expert has condemned this forced conversion ”
Not much more to add, rqther than applaud the insight that I missed.

  7. Dave M….our war IS your war..we stop their death cult there, before more of it appears here..
I hate any type of drugs..i have seen friends over the years succumb to its embrace.
Safe injection sites enable users to remain alive and healthy to commit the next round of robbery or assault ,or to again abuse their body by selling it for more drugs.
The NDP supports this drug trade and they are all the more damned for it.They don’t want any of these souls to die,it might interfere with gov’t funding.

  8. ET,
Apologies. I did not mean to imply you were a leftoid. I was careless. Mea Culpa.
Now, as to your latest post, I find it too theoretical. Where is(are) your supporting information, your fatc(s).
I love reading Gibbons’ “Decline and fall of the Roman empire” which he puts down to the insiduous growth of Christianity.
Very scarily, I see a parallel with the islamic inv asion of the West today.
Excpet, islam is not just alien to the West, but all humanity, which it attacks with equal gusto. Islam is the enemy and we must attack it and defeat it. This is a battle that must occour on the military, cultural and philosophical fronts. Most easily, we should enlist the women. But just where are the feminists? They are silent. The cow-ards. They will answer for this with purhdah.

  9. Just for fun, i went to the Rabble.ca website for the first time to have a look at their boards..Holy cr*p!

On Tuesday the members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery will meet to discuss the endless spat between Parliament Hill journalists and the Prime Minister over access to the big guy at Hill news conferences. The rest of this post will be en famille: I’m going to abuse my podium to explain why I’ll be arguing for unilateral surrender.
I believe we should agree to cover any prime ministerial news conference under whatever conditions the prime minister chooses to dictate. Specifically, I’ll argue that Stephen Harper’s condition — that we consent to ask questions according to a list made and kept by a junior PMO staffer — is an annoying but trivial obstacle to our job, one we are better to shrug off than to build into a federal case.

  16. Here is an exerpt of a discussion that I recently engaged in at another message board – the URL follows:
    __________________________________________
So in that long essay which you’ve ignored there was this point about socialism and nazism:
‘The word “Nazi” is a German abbreviation of the name of Hitler’s political party — the nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Partei. In English this translates to “The National Socialist German Worker’s Party”. So Hitler was a socialist and a champion of the workers — or at least he identified himself as such and campaigned as such.’
Make no mistake Hitler was a leftist and a socialist – a so-called ‘champion of workers’ – however bent his understandings of socialism became – it was socialism all the same.

Both good threads check ’em out?!

  17. Hey don,
It seems that this particular topic comes up here with some frequency, so to you and other righties who are in denial:
The National Socialist German Workers Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) may have had socialist leanings before Hitler became it’s leader, but it later developed into the embodiment of Hitler’s personal ideology, which included a hatred of socialists and communists.
Since socialism and communism are considered left-wing ideologies, and Nazism was violently opposed to them, that would make Nazism the opposite of left-wing…which is right-wing.
So, all you right-wingers should remember that if you lean over too far to the right you’ll fall into Hitler’s lap.

  18. Dear lberia:
I did say “Make no mistake Hitler was a leftist and a socialist – a so-called ‘champion of workers’ – however bent his understandings of socialism became – it was socialism all the same.”
Read here for a very complete understanding:
    http://jonjayray.tripod.com/hitler.html
Did you look at my protest website?
    http://www.dental-spy-imlants.blog.ca
Did you see there what has happened to me – look into it and then tell me that you still think that socialism is such a grand thing.
Has anyone come forward to claim [with evidence] that a ‘right-wing’ government has done such a thing as has happened to me under a socialist NDP system?
Communists think that the state should own ‘everything’ – like the auto-insurance fund being operated by the government…

  19. “Since socialism and communism are considered left-wing ideologies, and Nazism was violently opposed to them, that would make Nazism the opposite of left-wing…which is right-wing.”
That isn’t so – being ‘in opposition to’ is different than being ‘opposite of’…later Hitler was in opposition to the former socialism but that didn’t make his socialism oppposite – it certianly didn’t make him right-wing.
The point i was making about Hitler was that he brainwashed millions with socialist ‘for the people programs’ and he was a so-called champion of common workers. Just like the left-wingers of today!

  20. Barcs, at Sept 4 – 5:37 pm,
comments that National Dipstick Leader Jack wants our military to abandon children, teachers and all to the Taliban.
He is such a fraud as he is intellegent enough to know this is advocating genocide yet it is pure opposition politics.
    Barcs mentions..
**The new government is working with NATO and the UN to try and exert their soveriegnty over their territory. This cannot be done without the help of Afganie allies (like us) helping to build (not rebuild) schools, wells and other infrastructure; not to mention providing protection for those buildings while we help build and train a sovereign Afganie army.
Wakie Jacke wants a balanced approach? Whats balanced about watching the school you just built burned to the ground by the Taliban as they behead teachers out in the playground?? **
I will only extend Barcs comments a little to mention the reason the Taliban destroy schools and behead teachers is because once children learn a little about freedom and enterprise they become too wise to fall for the dhimmi rote bomber martyr training the Taliban depend upon for children soldiers.
What a depraved satanic culture the dope emperor Taliban cult really is. = TG
