I think I've voted 4 times through all of it. Now that I see how P.O.'d they are about Manning, I'll do it every day and pass it on to my pals too.

Secret ballots are lame. There's no reason why CG's poll, or most polls come to think of it, need to be secret ballot. It makes the electorate unaccountable. If you vote for a criminal organization like the Libranos, or vote more than once, or vote in a riding other than your own, the people have a right to know that. I guarantee if federal elections weren't secret ballot Harper would've won a majority last time.

The Forte of the lefty libs and neo libs is their amazing abillity to read the cards wrong and march on in glorious oblivion to the political make up of this country.

It just goes to show, once again, that the left, while proclaiming the virtues of tolerance for the opinions of others, doesn't extend that tolerance to those who don't think that our bodies should be hooked up to the state via a series of tubes.

As I start my day full of "whining reactionism" and "bigotry", I too voted.

I find it interesting that lefties - like Kyle - are often the ones to be whining about Conservatives against whom he is obviously bigoted.

So I guess it is OK to express hatred and spew bile against a certain group (hard core right wing, neo-con, fundamentalist Christians, American loving, nazis ) only if you are on the left side of the political spectrum.

Regardless of how Kate is able to manipulate the CG poll by sending her reactionary readers, a simple fact remains: Preston Manning never was, and never will be the Prime Minister of Canada. If you put him up head to head agaisnt Frank McKenna in a general election it would be a massive Liberal majority. Even your buddy "Steve" can only get elected by capitalizing on the government's mistakes and pretending to be moderate just like them. The extreme brand of conservativism espoused by Kate and her readers will never take hold in this country and you would be best off to just accept that.

PS Suggesting that one need be "tolerant" of intolerant opinions to be truly "tolerant" in the virtuous sense is just plain asinine. I have no problem calling a spade a spade, and a bigot a bigot. To do otherwise would be to defeat the purpose of the word. And as long Small Dead Animals acts as agitation propaganda against muslims and natives (apparently even members of the United Church) for the intolerant right I will speak up against it (and be ridiculed and ignored by Kate's kool-aid drinking followers).

And what, do you think that just because the poll is on a liberal blog that only liberals deserve to be voted for? It's called the world wide web for a reason, Carruthers. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come and share their opinion. Of course, you're in good company; you're not the first liberal to lose a vote and whine about it being 'fixed'. That's how every government falls. Party A does a poor job (or steals hundreds of millions of dollars from the taxpayers in an elaborate kickback scheme fostered by a culture of entitlement, whatever), and party B promises to do a better job, and gets elected.

As per your comments on CG's blog about Kate for being racist for addressing the issues of Caledonia, and islamic terrorism...If you think legitimately criticizing a lawless band of individuals who were holding an entire neighborhood hostage with their violent beatings, vandalism and threats is 'racist', then you're even stupider than i thought. Unfortunately, it would appear that you seem to think we shouldn't criticize criminals just because they are of a certain ethnic group, which I, for one, find extremely telling...

I dont have the time to get into a lengthy back and forth but a few points merit comment

- Frank McKenna could win a general election in Canada, Preston Manning could not.
- The brand of conservativism favoured by Kate and her koolaid drinkiners is not the same brand that the CPC campaigned on and CERTAINLY doesn't have the support of 40% of the public.
- I consider constant attempts to agitate opinion against aboriginals and muslims as Kate has done to be "racist".
- Kate can hijack the poll as she wants (free speech right), but it biases the result.
- I sympathize with the native protestors at Caledonia because I believe FN's are a nation (not just a race) and have legitimate grievances against hte Canadian statel.

the vote is a sage lesson in agenda pursuit, manipulation and propaganda.
