I cannot fathom (pun intended) why these 'big easy' types are so insistent on 'rebuilding' n orleans when its just going to get demolished some time again in the next 50 - 100 years.

MOVE the friggin city INLAND about 10 or 15 miles NOW do your rebuilding.

Almost a year later and I'm wondering if the NDPers have a southern branch of the party. Thousands of NOLA residents are still in Houston wondering when the government is going to take care of them. In the mean time the mayor of "Chocolate City" cries about no more money, racism, price of tea in China etc.

For those who may not have heard, there was a scrap company that offered to remove all flooded/abandoned vehicles at $100 each but mayor said no. Now the bill to get rid of the vehicles has cost NOLA $$$ instead of bringing in cash. We are talking millions here coming into the city but now the city is spending millions to handle it thenmselves and it still isn't finished.

Trouble is that now I really don't give a flying *uck about New Orleans. The residents of the Big Easy had a chance to change and instead they re-elected Nagin as mayor. They are getting all they deserve now.

And a parting thought... Why is it that NOLA and the other areas struck by Katrina now have a booming population of hispanic construction workers but Houston and other areas still have "refugees"?

Nagin: typical "adult toddler". The West's turning out a critical mass of these handicapped people.* (The ME was full of them already.) Why was Nagin re-elected? Lots of adult toddlers out there.

New Orleans is a city with a voting block that believes the world owes them something. Give Nagin the 10's of billions of dollars to control. When it's gone he'll still be blaming Bush (ie. everyone else) for the potholes and the unemployment. He has no interest in pulling New Orleans up by it's bootstraps, gainfully employed taxpayers with brains would never vote for him.
