How is anything Ann Coulter writes equivalent to these diatribes against Joe Leiberman?
Has this person ever listened to Rush Limbaugh for more than 2 minutes?
Wasn't McCarthy kind of right? Weren't there actually communists in the American government?
this Joe Leiberman thing will hopefully wake up a few more left of center people.
The Left has successfully painted the Right as fascist Nazis - but the Nazis were on the left -they hated Jews and Christians for similar reasons as the Communists (religion is the opiate of the masses). Jews and Christians bear witness to a higher judge and moral authority than the fuhrer or chairman.
I came to believe that we liberals couldn't possibly be so intolerant and hateful, because our ideology was famous for ACLU-type commitments to free speech, dissent and, especially, tolerance for those who differed with us.
Lanny Davis, a Clintonista, who has used hyperbole, smears and victim games in her own past, is a little late in verbalizing the craven behavior of her party. She hadn't noticed Cynthia McKinney's anti-semitism, Jesse Jackson's "Hymietown", Louis Farrakhan, the deranged bile that has been Kos since its inception? I'm amused.
"Committed to free speech"? Excuse me, but, it's the Democrats that have muzzled and censored discussion in this country with their pc intolerance, they smear anyone - especially whites - whose opinions differ as racist. That's been going on for decades.
That her buddies on the hard left have evolved into fascists using rabid vulgarity and death threats isn't new news to anyone.
Color me unimpressed with Lanny's indignation. She's a day late and a dollar short.
Oh, and Lanny, the ACLU has been one of left's biggest tools in destroying our free speech and culture in the US.
Ooops. I confused Lanny Davis, a he, with another Clintonista with a similar name, a she, that was shot down for a judicial appointment. So, I retract my comments "hyperbole, smears and victim games in her own past".
In my day, as a conservative traditionalist, I've faced my share of sneering, arrogant lefties, who, when confronted with a real argument--"Hey, I'm not supposed to have to THINK!"--usually descend very quickly to the ad hominem attack. These people, aided and abetted by the uber-leftist MSM (and, in Canada the LPC), believe they're mini-gods: They believe they're ENTITLED to be at the top of the heap. That's really their Achilles heel because, before a face-off, they rarely bother to really study the issues. They assume they're infinitely better than their opponent and feel all they have to do is assert their superiority. (Oh ya, and they all claim to support "equality": I've never met such a group of snivelling, hypocritical elitists in my life!)
The positive side of this is that conservatives have learned to use their wits and be better informed than their adolescent behaving opponents, who are really blown away when outmanoeuvred by a "cretin" they thought they could eat for breakfast: When this happens, the look on their faces and the verbal spluttering are almost worth their sneering condescension!
I've NEVER met anyone less tolerant than the lefty prima donnas, who've had a free ride in Canada for far too long. So, Lanny J. Davis, welcome to the club. If Lanny has any politically active conservative friends, I suggest he get himself a tutorial on tips to deal with the crybaby, pitbull left. He'll certainly get a lot of sympathy and some very useful advice. (I don't think Lanny would like my next suggestion, but, if he wants to avoid contact with leftist propagandists and bullies, as much as possible, why not become a Republican?!)
My immedieate reaction to reading Lanny Davis's piece this morning was echoed by Rush Limbaugh this afternoon. Davis is calling conservatives a bunch of haters and bigots, and he wants to warn Democrats from 'doing the.'
Conservatives shouldn't be fooled by Davis' article. He's attacking you as much as he's attacking anyone else.
Foxnews is reporting that Lieberman's website has been hacked and is shut down. They can't even use their e-mails. It's kind of sad when they start eating their own.
in response to lookout's comments...i was a member of the ndp in my youth b4 I enlsited...8 yrs travelling the world wakes one up...joined the reform party year one in Ontario...big, strong ex-army guy..so i worked security...to this day I will never forget the screaming, yelling, whining, pot banging, hey ho,hey ho, 'fill in the blank' has got to go, rabid lefties ......i was harassed at home, work, and on the streets with my kids.... pitbull is a very accurate description....if you do not adopt their beliefs, it is like u do not have a right to exist...sounds like some islamofascists i have been reading about lately
kingstonlad, thanks. I hear you and sympathize! I hope things are better now for you and your kids. And, yes, aren't the lefties similar to another enemy? Vicious, entitled, and protected. Very scary.
the same aclu that forced a young couple years ago to spend half a million dollars in medical expenses by taking them to court when they opted to pull the plug on their severely ill and deformed baby? an unimaginable gut wrenching life-long scarring event and those fukers parachuted themselves into the mix so they could rack up huge lawyers fees and 'make an example of them'

the baby passed away as the doctors expected; aclu involvement merely dragged out the pain and suffering.
Robert J, I know Kate gave you a "last warning" for profanity on another thread, so I was surprised to "hear" you here, being profane.
I totally agree with your disdain for the ACLU--the CCLU's not much better. However, your arguments would be strengthened if couched in more appropriate language: The profanities are unnecessary.
It would be too bad if you're banned. So please reconsider the language you use. (Actually, I've found--I learned many years ago from a wise person younger than I am--that understatement can sometimes be much more powerful and persuasive than a punch in the nose. Really!)
it is a different world today...reformers were the reason Harris was elected..twice...now we have Mr. Harper...my kids are well grounded(no thanx to leftie teachers)...and I am self-employed(untouchable)...life is good

Speaking both as a conservative (adj) and as a Conservative (noun) I must say I find it amusing that this blog is finding moral common ground with chief Bill Clinton apologist Lanny Davis and Al Gore's 2000 VP running mate.
Are you so addled you somehow miss the irony of this? You are now supporting the ultimate big-government Democrat because a "nationalist" big government Democrat resists the call of the socialist state of Israel for yet more financial, moral and military support from its benefactor...
There was a time when I was able to discern a little moral clarity and clearly stated sense of purpose from this site. This stretching of belief, that you would consider anyone worse than Lieberman, is amazing to me. Casual readers must be shocked at this intellectual about face.
Discerning readers I'm sure fear worse.
In amazement, all I can do is suggest everyone download Steely Dan's classic album Pretzel Logic and enjoy it as background muzac while we await the rapture, or barring that a nuclear exchange.
ps. there aren't many good guys in power on any side over there, there are however millions of innocents, many the same age as and just as innocent as my children.
Peter H. No way have the posters on this site fallen hook, line, and sinker for Lanny. You seem intelligent enough: You know the difference between a noun and an adjective. I'm impressed.
huggybear commented that "Foxnews is reporting that Lieberman's website has been hacked and is shut down. They can't even use their e-mails. It's kind of sad when they start eating their own."
it is my sad duty to inform you that in the final days leading up to the republican primaries, the bush camp started a rumour about mccain's supposed black baby.
in repose to other comments, i understand your (collective) desire to expose certain flaws in liberal logic. i fail to understand your (collective) insistence on remaining blind to problems within conservative logic. i'm all for fair and unbiased reporting, but this site - and specifically the commentators - seems to be full of people who would rather point out the faults in others than to take a good long look at themselves. for example.... well.... in truth, i wonder if i should even bother to explain.

Yes, you "should...bother to explain". Even the trolls on this site have shown the grace of self-examination (OK...admittedly rarely). The regular posters will cheerfully admit error...but they tend to be correct.
"Liberal logic"? "Conservative logic"? I am familiar with classical and multivalued logics. I think conservative logic must be the classical sort (although I think Vitruvius goes multivalued on us occasionally - an occupational hazzard). Liberal logic tends to flat-out fantasy.
"Exit polls and results will be posted here later too. And we’re still accepting predictions. But in the meantime, enjoy politics the way it ought to be. I’d like to tell you that the fat guy with the chair-throwing problem is the Democrat and the mafioso type is the Republican.

It's just that the unconscious hypocrisy of "liberals" and what I've described for years as the McCarthyism of The Left continues to amaze and amuse.
Very nice. Maybe while taking a break from all of this faux concern for Jews, you will realize that the same people who brought Lieberman down would support Russ Feingold for president in a heartbeat.
I did read the link. As a matter of fact, I happen to concur with just about everything that Davis wrote. The Left has no shortage of nuts, unfortunately. Having said that, the vast majority of opposition to Lieberman is because of his policies, specifically related to Iraq. I don't see the same pejoratives flying around people like Feingold. Bigoted nuts have no ideology except bigotry, and they'll camp out wherever they can exploit an issue du jour and scream for attention. It is in that sense that I commend the authors of the Euston Manifesto, even as flawed as it is.
Oh the filth and dirt of politics. If it isn't a candidate's religion or ethnicity, it's how far over the belt the gut hangs. All this dough headed diatribe has absolutely nothing to do with the issues at hand or the credentials the candidates have to offer. How anyone at all would run for political office is amazing. Michael Moore Threatens Democrats
NewsMax ^ | 10 August 2006
Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore, following the Connecticut primary defeat of Sen. Joe Lieberman, issued a direct threat to his fellow Democrats: Denounce the war in Iraq or you’ll get what Joe got. In a letter to his Web site visitors, which served as fertilizer for blogs everywhere, Moore raged that Ned Lamont’s anti-war victory was the beginning of a revolution among liberals. Writes Moore on his Web site: "Let the resounding defeat of Senator Joe Lieberman send a cold shiver down the spine of every Democrat who supported the invasion of Iraq ...-
