Embattled Liberal MP Boris Wrzesnewskyj has resigned as deputy foreign affairs critic following the uproar over his comments suggesting Canada should negotiate with Hezbollah.Wrzesnewskyj found himself distanced from members of his own party when he made the statement during a fact-finding mission to Lebanon last week.
CTV's Graham Richardson told Newsnet that Wrzesnewskyj tendered his resignation on Wednesday and that his resignation was accepted.

He made a stupid statement, that we should recognise Hezbollah, and we think he was wrong.
So, he's entitled to his opinion, if he thinks we should recgnise Hez, so what, we can punish him at the polls next election.
A pol makes an honest statement, and we call for his resignation! In future, most pols will simply shut up, and we'll never know how they really feel about anything controversial.
I disagree totally with Borys' remark, but he's entitled to be a schmuck, as we all are.

What we have here is very clearly the latest in a long, long string of evidence that the Liberal Party of Canada is rife with folks who are so stupid as to believe we should negotiate with terrorists. It's the same as if it was Hitler instead of the Hezzies (not a lot of difference, though, between the two) the Liberals wanted to negotiate with.
Further, why do the Liberals have such a problem with the Conservative gov't fully supporting Israel's right to exist and right to defend herself? If the Liberals are against Hezbollah, then how come they're against Israel? (Well, does anyone think that the Liberal Party of Canada cares much for Israel? What evidence is there that they do? Besides, they've basically always had their rep at the UN vote to condemn Israel, right?)
Considering all this, it comes as no surprise that we see many, many Jews leaving the Liberals and joining the Conservatives. This is perhaps one of the most devastating blows the Liberals have ever suffered. The Liberals, after all, have always claimed to represent "minority communities". Guess the truth is that they actually represent SOME but not others! This truth is clearly devastating.
As a member parliament and as a private citizen, Boris W. is certainly entitled to his opinions.
But if wants to be a deputy defense critique for the Liberals, and a member of their caucus, then he is expected to hold certain views. All parties have a right to exclude members who don't share their basic beliefs.
He has the right to his opinions, but equally the Liberals have a right to demand certain things of their members. No one is forcing Boris to be a Liberal.
But I don't understand, since CTV just reported this yesterday...
Liberal Opposition Leader Bill Graham issued a statement late Monday that did not refer directly to the Wrzesnewskyj controversy, but affirmed his party's commitment to keeping Hezbollah on the official terror list.
"The Liberal Party of Canada ... originally listed Hezbollah as a terrorist organization under Canadian law and ... we still strongly support keeping Hezbollah on that list," Graham said in the statement.
"Any suggestion to the contrary does not reflect the official position of our party.''
But Graham also took a shot at the Conservatives, saying that at least, unlike the government, Liberals are allowed to speak freely.
"You'll be able to go out and interview them... nobody's got them locked up in a bus and thrown away the key, the way (it was done) at a recent caucus of the Conservatives," Graham told reporters Tuesday.
Bill Graham in criticizing the CPC Caucus said about his own Librano$, at least "You'll be able to go out and interview them..."

The members of the MSM don't seem to want to as it shows "their" party, the party they've been in bed with for over 13 years, as the confused, compass-less, moral and politically challenged pygmies they are.
It's sweet to see the Liberal Party unravelling at the seams. Likewise, to see Keith Boag looking dazed and grim when reporting on the Liberal Caucus meeting last night in Vancouver. You can almost see the thought bubble above his head: "I can't believe that the Liberals are so incompetent--and that I backed such a loser party for so long. Is there something wrong with me?"
Unfortunately it may serve to push the Liberal agenda underground again. Canadians didn't vote for many of the things the Liberal Party did to Canada, but bad policy and the Liberal Party come as a package - it's only reflected in the juvenile posturing the Liberals make during elections that appeal to many voters.
This isn’t complicated but the MSM still refuses to address the simplicity of what is going on here.
The utopian left assumes all cultures are equal, in fact they think everything and everybody is equal. Therefore when the underdogs like Hamas and the Hez find themselves up against Israel, the utopians don’t think in terms of who’s right and who’s wrong. These cultural relativists want to bring balance to the equation. Therefore they tilt the scales against Israel to bring “honest broker balance” and say things like:
“Canada must not choose sides like Harper has done we must continue our traditional role as the honest broker”.
To many Liberals (not all) this has nothing to do with “honesty”. They simply want to continue with their multiculti scam of being the broker that keeps the scales balanced and equal, integrity be damned.
In this case it was just too blatantly obvious that boy Boris from Beirut was looking a lot like George Galloway, the British MP with connections to terrorists. So even the Liberals had to distance themselves. But in a couple of days they’ll be back with their honest broker routine.
Multiculti does not work. The days of Liberal divide and conquer are over, we're all Canadians now , we all want freedom and an end to terrorists that want to take it away from us.

I know... for I watched them closely for their entire thirteen year reign. All the evidence is that they were muzzled with the iron fists of the PMO, the Whip, etc. And if they spoke out of turn, embarrassing the Party, there'd be consequences. They weren't allowed to differ from the party line... case in point: John Nunziata. And Carolyn Parrish (but only when she finally ripped into Mr. Dithers himself... it was fine when she was ripping into Mr. Bush, though, as that was clearly in line with Liebrano policy)

The liberal media has long hounded the Conservatives about having a hidden agenda. The not so hidden agenda of the Liberals is coming out more and more as the party unravels. It appears to me that the CBC is playing along with the Liberals in an underhanded, unethical attempt to link Kenney as a supporter of a terrorist group. This is a disgusting libel. This is typical CBC/Liberal equivocal dissemination.

Kenney told the Star he made a very brief appearance and told the gathering "that Canadian people would stand in solidarity with the Iranian people in their wish for respect for human dignity and human rights and democracy."
Yeah, sure CBC, throw out a dirty rotten vicious lie, and then cover your *ss by telling the truth at the bottom of the story.
