The New "F" Word

The case is one of the first to find that that a comment not made directly to another person can be construed as racism. Moreover, the court ruled that using the term “foreigners” is racist. The verdict also indicates that the mere fact of “disliking” foreigners constitutes a crime, even if one’s dislike is purely private and is not shown directly in one’s behaviour towards a foreigner.

Someimtes I despair...

Another individual feeling, right or wrong, being pushed underground to fester. Typical lib/left asstrich response.

Call the coroner, that's a corpse. It just don't know it yet.

Gee cant the people of any Euroweenie Union country say anything without offending some liberal wussies? the SOVIET UNION did not die out when the wall came down it just expanded to cover the whole european continent

"multiculturalism" is really a suicide cult conceived by the Western elites not to celebrate all cultures, but to deny their own. “–Mark Steyn

Glad Mark’s mother skedaddled from her native Belgium to Canada while the getting was good.

Right from the beginning, I was dead-set against the idea of "hate crimes" and the adding of "hate" (thought) as an aggravating component to a crime.

It means that if someone kills you because they want your wallet, they will get a lesser sentence than if they kill you because you are of a certain race, religion, sexual orientation, or political group.

"How on Earth can you prove that a crime was motivated by hate?", I would ask. And if the person is female, gay, Asian, and Jewish, which component motivated the "hate" killing, bashing, or whatever?

In order to "figure" this out: We need thought police.

And it looks like they have finally arrived.

To be honest, this ruling may not be that bad. I've lived in countries where being a 'foreigner' was looked down upon by many. Even the word 'foreigner' was used derogatively to insult people.

So I have mixed feelings about declaring it a 'hate crime'. But I do not know about the current situation in Europe. Maybe they have a point...

The NDPinheads and Liberals will probably think this is just fantastic and hope the same kind of nazi like rulings end up here. So much for freedom of thought & expression.

Wayne, gotta love that Steyn quote.

I'm afraid to say anything else lest I offend someone.

What about the right of free speech? If all we can say are 'nice things' and are not allowed to express anything negative, then, we've lost free speech.

And don't assume that Canada can't go that way - with our Liberal devotion to multiculturalism, which is specifically enshrined in our disastrous constitution - we could end up just like the above situation. Our constitution specifically asserts that multiculturalism trumps individual freedoms.

can the foreigner not be of the same race ??? so how is this painted with the label racism ???

George Orwell saw the future in "1984", remember.

Orwell also knew the past, to wit:

The year is 1600, AD. The place; Florence, Italy.

The bonfire: searing/melting the flesh.

Giordano Bruno dies, not recanting to the thought police of the Roman Catholic Inquisition.

Good point, robert j, but I think that the term 'racism' has been changed to mean simply 'Other'. You are not allowed to dislike 'Others'.

What about the preaching in the mosques, with words taken directly from the Koran, against 'Others' - who must be subjugated, or, if they refuse to convert, killed? Doesn't this speech come under the same code?

It's quite incredible, how the world is 'tied in knots' because it doesn't know how to deal with the mixture that has resulted from globalization of the world's populations. It's going to take some time to sort out.
1) Will it be multiculturalism - that shuttles all these Others into their own separate groups, and locks them in?
2) Will it be homogeneity - that refuses to recognize differences? Is homogeneity possible in large populations? Biologically, the evolution is always to diversity rather than homogeneity.

What about capacities for interaction?

3) Will it be ethical relativism - that refuses to evaluate the capacity of these different groups to get along and actually live 'as one', homogeneously?
4) Will the society insist on a common rule of law and behaviour?

I'm sure it will 'sort itself out' - but, it's going to take time and debate.

If the state didn't exist, there would be no "foreigners". So the state itself is a racist institution. If they have the courage of their convictions, they will dismantle themselves. Sounds about right.

Sad and ironic isn't it that Europeans are muzzling themselves while their Islamic population spews all kinds of hate in the confines of their mosques and on their streets. And, the soon to be dhimmi sheeple endorse it directly with their tolerance of Islamic intolerance.

Islam has found the perfect place for its expansion in the soft underbelly of socialized Europe.

When Blair is gone, I expect Britain to become more like France.

In that long piece called "Farewell to the United Nations" it was revealed that 59 Islamic countries are trying to get the UN (which has been hijacked by islamism) to pass a law (it is a legislative body) making "Islamophobia" a crime, the purpose of which is of course to lever western laws to stifle dissent and support their fifth columns. And in the meantime in those same Islamic countries the vicious, open, genocidal, hatred of Jews and infidels is routine and unabashed.

Is the West suffering from terminal stupidity?

Theory: The leftist elites now realize that the decay has advanced to the point that government is no longer able to protect us (its primary role). Hence the idea of forbidding offence so as not to trigger the violence they know they won't and/or can't staunch.

After all, Paris has returned to "normal" with daily car-burnings now down to only 100 or so.

Gotcha by the kiddies: World Wide Government.

Maurice Strong and Kofi Annan are jubilating in Paul Martin, Jr.'s office at UN HQ.

There will be no need for the word "foreigners"; there will be no "Others"; there will be no states; there will just be "Us".

But wait,... Paul Hellyer is in contact with alien UFOs. The aliens will be the "Others".

BTW, the rules were drawn up in secret.

Millions of children to be fingerprinted

Guardian Unlimited ^ | July 30, 2006 | Jamie Doward
British children, possibly as young as six, will be subjected to compulsory fingerprinting under European Union rules being drawn up in secret. The prints will be stored on a database which could be shared with countries around the world. The prospect has alarmed civil liberties groups who fear it represents a 'sea change' in the state's relationship with children and one that may lead to juveniles being erroneously accused of crimes. Under laws being drawn up behind closed doors by the European Commission's 'Article Six' committee, which is composed of representatives of the European Union's 25 member states, all children...

Something to consider.

Multiculturalism has to be repositioned as racism, based on the fact that it ghettoizes, discriminates and blocks integration of minorities.

The 'Canadian' constitution has to be repositioned as the Liberal constitution - the most bigoted and undemocratic document produced by a democratic nation. It was foisted on Canada without public consent, bars 80% of the population from federal government jobs and makes the unelected supreme court the defacto rulers of the country.

The left have been great at repositioning. It's time Canadians fought back.
