AXE that bunch of lib/left overweight menopausal bullbitches and their government teat sucking mentality. When I look around today and see the number of cracker jack women in business who needs the status of women with their hermaphroditic view of REAL Women. Real Women sure as hell don’t. When I look at our friends there isn’t one woman among them that takes a back seat to anyone, male or female. They are smart, aggressive, caring and fun to be around. They are truly women. There isn’t one that I would care to lock horns with as they can stand up for themselves, including those “lowly housewives”. When I look at my wife’s circle of girl friends they would eat that bunch of status women for breakfast. As my wife’s investment club group said, the status group is just a bunch of Lesbos hanging on to a job, probably the only one they can get. Amen.

Wow! Kathy, you rocked! Great interview. It's noteworthy, too, that REAL Women does not want to take the place of SOW. They just want to get rid of them. I think that's why it makes sense to get behind this effort and to support REAL Women, because this is not at all self-serving. It's not a case of new pigs at the same old trough.

Kathy made a really astute and wise point when she pointed out that this is a long struggle, and that the demise of SWC is not only not necessarily imminent, but not even critical in the short term.

We're talking about a cultural shift, so this isn't an issue that should be placed on Stephen Harper's broad shoulders, for example. This is where the foot-soldiers do the work. When you consider the twenty-some million that SWC has to work with, and you combine that with -- one should reasonably infer -- the support of LibCan journalists for "the cause", Stpehn Harper's express support for de-funding would instantly provide fodder for a propaganda campaign against him and his government, and in all likelihood would give (back the) legs to the specious "dinosaur" accusation which was so effective for so many years in marginalizing the conservative voices in this country, and in keeping reasonable and in (now surprising) retrospect broadly-held perspectives from more widespread consideration.

Politics reflects cultural shifts which to not, and should not, translate instantly into public-policy pronouncements.

I feel compelled to add here something everybody already knows, that Kate especially and Kathy and other bloggers are having far more effect on the political culture of this country than they would ever take credit for.

Why is it people assume their warnings are falling on the ears of those who've never been down the road before?

Despite all the so-called "controversy" of SDA, the over 4500 posts here have generated nothing more than a handful (perhaps 4?) private requests from individuals for retractions or corrections. Those were honoured, once I had established the facts.

The only lawyers letters I've ever received demanding I retract something I'd said or written have been from dog people.

Score to date:

Plaintiffs A actually filed suit. A few weeks later, they cut me the settlement cheque.

Plaintiffs B quietly dropped their demand after I laid out the facts for their lawyer.

Dog show politics is like party politics with bigger egos and bigger wallets.

One should never assume that because a blogger has no track record in party politics, that they come to this arena with a thin skin.
