AND - more, more, more and more.

Who’s that he’s aiming his rifle at, though? Are Israeli troops advancing? Might that fire be the product not of an airstrike but of IDF artillery?

Here’s a closeup:

They’re burning tires. It’s a garbage dump.

Finally - Dead men walking at the New York Times.

Ynet news - Associated Press facing questions.

And yet more - the mother of all photo staging roundups.

Rusty Shackleford wonders if Haji has been collecting payment under two different names;

In addition to being a stringer for Reuters, Hajj is also an editor at as Safir. Why is that important?

We know that as Safir is an openly anti-Israel Arabic news outlet in Lebanon. Right Winged has this excellent expose of them here.

The entire website is very similar to the dozens of Islamist websites that I visit. The main theme of these websites is almost always that Muslims are victims of some outside force. They use images of dead women and children to reinforce this, always blaming the outsider for their predicament. This "news" website is no different.

I believe that sound you hear in the distance is the rumbling of an advancing avalanche.

Allah;

I can honestly say, in my two-plus years of blogging, this was the first time I’ve been inundated with tips on a particular topic faster than I could post them. Amazing.

For our readers in the media - I would like to direct you to an important detail you may have overlooked.

The vast majority of these questioned images have not been uncovered by "bloggers". We're only cataloging and distributing them. The real footwork is being done by our readers - more specifically, the average media consumer.

This is not good news for your industry.

makes you wonder how much content the CBC "stages" for consumption by the masses . . .

That's odd, they sure don't seem to bleed very much, do they? Mortal wounds are usually accompanied with blood -- you know, that wet, red stuff that soaks into light colored garments?

An apology is now up on the site. Looks like nothing was staged other than rigor mortis. Some people around here need to seriously relax.

Head over to Hot Air via Michelle Malkin for more shots plus Little Green Footballs for even more Pallywood. AP seems to be caught up in it now. The whole Cana thing looks pretty much bogus as is probably most of the stuff coming out of Lebanon. I think the MSM is in meltdown.

Just to reiterate a previous post elsewhere. I'm not denying there's a war on and people are in fact getting killed. But there is just zero credibility left in MSM and their photos/reports.

Bombing of Funeral: False Reporting by Reuters

(IsraelNN.com) The day after it was revealed that a Reuters News Agency doctored photographs to show an anti-Israel bias, the news service incorrectly reported Tuesday afternoon that the IDF bombed a funeral procession in Lebanon.

Reuters has corrected without apology its earlier story that the IDF strafed a funeral procession and updated the report to state that the bombs struck a village at the same time the funeral was taking place, adding that "the air strike was not in the immediate vicinity of the funeral. ...-

It was obvious to myself while watching the video of the bombing on CNN, that the bombs were landing in the distance nowhere near the procession. This was obvious as the filming was done from the funeral procession. Granted, once the bombs started landing in another part of town the mourners broke ranks and ran for cover in all directions. Maybe my re-call is off, but I'm sure they even dropped one of the corpses. Anyway, at the time CNN had reported several bombing casualties in the procession which didn't make any sense at all, as the bombing was clearly off in the distance.

The retraction makes sense now.

Not just children. Don't forget to post your own apology, Mr/Ms YouGuys.

Are you one of those tolerant lefties per chance?

About the supposed staged photo of the corpse at Qana- I'm surprised that many bloggers are posting the link to James Taranto's opinion piece at the WSJ. In the same article he issued an up-date, at least 2 hours ago, linking to another site that shows the uncovered body with obvious rigor mortis.

HOT OFF THE PRESS

I just heard an unconfirmed report on CNN that France has just withdrawn its support of the US/France resolution. If this is true, all h*ll is going to break loose in the mideast.

As has been pointed out above, I've removed the original Opinion Journal link as I've updated the post with more material that's much more damning.

I've noticed in comments -- here, at Stephen Taylor's, and elsewhere -- that a lot of folks on the left have a "hey, calm down, what's the big deal?" attitude about any journalistic fraud undertaken for propaganda purposes. Like it's in their blood or something. Yikes.

with obvious rigor mortis

I'll leave the coroner to decide that. Why would that particular body, assuming they were all killed simultaneously, have such advanced rigour mortis?

France has just withdrawn its support of the US/France resolution. If this is true, all h*ll is going to break loose in the mideast.

Probably not. I really don't think, given France's track record, that anyone was counting on the French to assist in bringing stability to the ME. In fact, France contributing anything positive to the advancement of peace, stability, the advancement of humanity or the destruction of fascists is probably an oxymoron.

Didn't they surrender even as peacekeepers somewhere? I would think that all hell would break loose if they got there.

I have to say that CNN is at least talking about doctored photography and MSM fraud. I've seen Charles Johnson on there twice in the past two days.

No doubt people are actually getting killed, and that IS a big human tragedy. The concern expressed in this post is the obvious manipulation of journalists and the MSM to serve simply as a propaganda tool for terrorists, and a lack of due diligence on the part of wire services that feed the remainder of the MSM. From here on in the MSM reporting is just so much fluff.
But looking at the photo of the car at the roadside, one does have to admire the IDF for creating a missile that can pull out the sun roof, knock off the headlights, and leave the windshield and paint more or less intact. Oooh, those crafty joooos!

HOT OFF THE TELEVISION

CNN is now reporting that France is not pulling out of the US/France resolution but wants to revise it to reflect Arab League demands. It's going to be very curious where things go from here.

Obviously, there are "shopped" photos out there. I've posted lots of times before you know where I stand. Query... How much "shopping" do the N.A. governments do? How much "shopping" does Israel do?

Cons, in order to truly be considered right thinking and analytical, need to ponder these questions and then have cogent answers for them.

Respectfully Fergy

Communist Brainwashing Corporation sees this ethical question as pertaining to "the arts". I suppose, if you are talking about the "art of deception".

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Stephen Harper has tapped a surprise source for advice on the Middle East: a Liberal MP of Muslim faith.
[...]
Khan dismissed suggestions that Harper is using him to help restore his political fortunes or quell anger in Arab and Muslim communities.

"I give a lot of credit to the prime minister," Khan said.

"Canada must be able to utilize, I believe, all of its resources, even if it means putting aside partisanship, in order to get the best long-term results."

Fergy,

How much "shopping" do the N.A. governments do? How much "shopping" does Israel do?

Can you name just one photographer employed by "the N.A governments" or Israel that has ever been published in MSM?

I think there might be a chance that some contract photographers might have enhanced a sunrise or sunset for Tourism Whatever, or that some government might have staged and paid to get the bird sh*t washed off a statue before a shot.

Cons, in order to truly be considered right thinking and analytical, need to ponder these questions and then have cogent answers for them.

Guess I'm not "right thinking and analytical" - I distinguish between removing a zit from a bride's face and staging scenes for a terrorist agenda.

Wouldnt surprise me to see France back out of any agreement that requires GUTS. As someone said, "France waves the white flag of surrender everytime a car backfires."

Mark, if CNN means revising to reflect Arab demands seeing through a glass, darkly...

(foxnews.com reportedly) The French U.N. delegation has joined with Arab nations and is now calling for a complete and immediate Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon as a condition of any cease-fire, the sources said.

In addition, the French have reportedly agreed with Arab demands that the Lebanese force be accompanied only by UNIFIL, with no international force to be deployed.

Damn.

That's the first double post in years.

Sorry!

"This is not good news for your industry."

My fibula. If the unionized MSM ever went on strike the blogsphere would cease to exist. Bloggers are, with few exceptions, parasites on the MSM host.

The few bloggers such as yourself who use "independent journalists" (as I repeatedly prove, they are actually paid PNAC PR flacks) as sources are very much the exception.

On a more important note: you and the other moral geniuses who are making light of ethnic cleansing are trying to be both funny and evil at the same time. Nobody in history has ever managed to pull this feat off, except for perhaps the original Jewish standup comic. And "Yaweh", if you're listening, dude, you seriously need some new material. Your ethnic cleansing in Palestine bit was funny THE FIRST TIME I GOT IT ON DVD 30 YEARS AGO DUHDUHDUHDUHDUH!!! You haven't put out anything good since the Book of Job.

Reuters Commits Four Types of Fraud

An overview of the photo hoaxes committed by Reuters, discovered so far

The recent discovery that the Reuters news agency released a digitally manipulated photograph as an authentic image of the bombing in Beirut has drawn attention to the important topic of bias in the media. But lost in the frenzy over one particular image is an even more devastating fact: that over the last week Reuters has been caught red-handed in an astonishing variety of journalistic frauds in the photo coverage of the war in Lebanon.

This page serves as an overview of the various types of hoaxes, lies and other deceptions perpetrated by Reuters in recent days, since the details of the scandal are getting overwhelmed by a torrent of shallow mainstream media coverage that can easily confuse or mislead the viewer. Almost all of the investigative work has been done by cutting-edge blogs, but the proliferation of exposés might overwhelm the casual Web-surfer, who might be getting the various related scandals mixed up. In this essay I hope to straighten it all out.

It's important to understand that there is not just a single fraudulent Reuters photograph, nor even only one kind of fraudulent photograph. There are in fact dozens of photographs whose authenticity has been questioned, and they fall into four distinct categories.

The four types of photographic fraud perpetrated by Reuters photographers and editors are:

1. Digitally manipulating images after the photographs have been taken.

2. Photographing scenes staged by Hezbollah and presenting the images as if they were of authentic spontaneous news events.

3. Photographers themselves staging scenes or moving objects, and presenting photos of the set-ups as if they were naturally occurring.

4. Giving false or misleading captions to otherwise real photos that were taken at a different time or place.

All of these forms of fraud have the same intent: to serve as propaganda for Hezbollah, and to make the Israeli attacks look as brutal as possible. And, taken together, they raise a very serious question: can any of the coverage by the entrenched media by trusted?

Let's examine each type of fraud, with the photographic evidence itself: ...-

Bob wrote: Your ethnic cleansing in Palestine bit was funny THE FIRST TIME I GOT IT ON DVD 30 YEARS AGO DUHDUHDUHDUHDUH!!! You haven't put out anything good since the Book of Job.

Given as how it took Hitler about 5 years of ethnic cleansing to get rid of 6,000,000 Jews, Milsovic [sp} and various African warlords mere months to kill of hundreds of thousands of people. I would guess that the Israelis, after 30 years of trying, aren't very good at it.
Or perhaps it is all in your head Bob.

"Given as how it took Hitler.."

Oh be quiet, old man. You're yesterday's bagels. Any Canadian born after 1967 knows about "Godwins Law"; we think you and the rest of the losers who invoke Hitler in a weak attempt to stifle debate are a joke. Stick to your knitting.

Bob shows a hopelessly inadequate grasp of the larger issues out of emergent technology.

Bob: read up on McLuhan for starters,if you have the intellectual capacity, then move on to some technical journals on electronic communications protocols, and then whatever else you fancy.

the fact remains, the blogosphere has created a heretofore non existant, ie BRAND NEW, information universe. it can and possibly to a GREAT extent WILL exist on its own.

it will create part time jobs/hobbies for MILLIONS of 'reporters' with a web camera anywhere in the world (except africa where millions of square miles still lack internet access).

this universe will include areas where MSM has no interest because, well, they on their own decide what their audience will view. and THAT is the insurmountable DIFFERENCE between blogosphere and MSM: abundance of CHOICE and staggering amount of offerings. the real interesting controversial and informative stuff will CONTINUE to quickly rise to the top of the hits tally and sweep the globe like this reuters fakery, because of the essential nature of the blogosphere; its ALL there for EVERYONE to see (except china and arab countries where filters are in place). not so MSM. in the MSM what is available is what MSM dictates will be available. filtered and manipulated and massaged.

perhaps McLuhan should have said 'the medium is the massage' LOL !!!

are you following Bob or have I already exceeded your capacity to perceive and comprehend the big 'picture' (pun intended) ???

"An apology is now up on the site. Looks like nothing was staged other than rigor mortis. Some people around here need to seriously relax."

See Lew - your statement says it all about this situattion - the very fact that you accept and dismiss this "staging" as OK shows that you accept lying and cheating.

My mind boggles at the number of commenters on various sites who are willing to accept

Staged photos

Fakes photos

Journalists editing stories to provide a particular slant to their stories.

Conspriacy theories

The very fact that you accept this, Lew, shows your lack of integrity.

furthermore, the blogosphere is now the origin of brand new very appropo words:
'fauxtography'

God this is a fantastic time to be living in !!!!

the truth will out, the truth will out.

The reason I wrote what I did is we need to be able to refute the lefties, that's all.
