After repeated Israeli efforts to destroy Hizbullah's al-Manar television station have failed, an IDF intelligence unit succeeded this week in hacking the station's live broadcasts, planting Israeli PR messages in the transmissions..The al-Manar channel regularly airs juicy propaganda against Israel, including reports of "heroic" and "successful" operations by Hizbullah fighters against IDF special forces.
However, this weekend the IDF prepared a surprise for the Lebanese and Arab viewers of the channel: The broadcast was interrupted and caricatures of Nasrallah appeared on the screen, accompanied by captions reading: "Your days are numbered" and "Nasrallah, your time is up. Soon you won't be with us anymore."

Welcome to Information Warfare
Any chance the IDF could hack the CBC and give us some good television?
Or at least blow it up.
Fantastic news. I fully agree with the view someone very honest should do the same to C.B.C.
CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE NEWS THAT IS PRO-CANADA ON OUR VERY OWN TAXPAYER OWNED MEDIA? WOW
I'll have to disagree with the suggestion that a Marxist-Leninist theocracy not traditionally aligned with Canada should conduct IW against Canada, and bomb my fellow Canadian civillians. It appears George Jonas has serious competition for 'Greatest Canadian Traitor, 2006 Edition' title.
CBC is so biased toward Israel it's ridiculous. If they weren't, they'd tell the truth and say that Israel is "invading" Lebanon, not "moving in". Lebanon isn't a condo in The Annex; it's a sovereign state. The CBC's refusal to use scary words like "invade", presumably in order not to upset their fragile viewers and turn them against Israel, is just one example of how they, like so many, are giving Israel a free pass.
Ahhhhhhahahaha!
The Mossad is great at paying "special attention" to certain problems.
Don't be surprised when Israel pulls of a brazen kidnapping of their own...
A little off topic but go on over to lefty blog "zaphods heads" and particpate in the poll. We need to boost Hezbollas numbers!!
Lebanon isn't a condo in The Annex; it's a sovereign state.
Tell that to Hizb'Allah; they just waltzed in there (pardon the euphemism, Bobert), kicked the occupants up into the attic, and took over the place. Syria and Iran are paying the rent and sending Care packages.
You of course were all over the place cursing Hizb'Allah high and low.
Or were you? Hmmmmm.
Interesting development. I wonder if Israeli "technical experts" might also be using the internet to track/disrupt hezbollah's financial transactions, identify/locate command centres and persons of interest, in addition to propaganda/psychological ops. The possibilities are endless.
"CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE NEWS THAT IS PRO-CANADA ON OUR VERY OWN TAXPAYER OWNED MEDIA? WOW"
Yes that way we would have state media that could give the North Koreans and Cubans, and probably even the Fox News folk, a run for their money, in who can praise the government the loudest. Heaven forbid they should question the government. Ever.
Mississauga Matt: I had the same idea. Given that the IDF will probably not hack the CBC for us, it would be a "fun" little weekend project. How hard could it be?
The downside is that if the hacker got caught (s)he would probably be labeled a dangerous offender by our catch-and-release justice system and locked up for life.
Pedophiles are free to roam our streets after a slap on the wrist; but attack the CBC? That would be treason!
