This can't be real. How come Michael hasn't interviewed Green Helmet?

Seriously, this is by far the most honest reporting from the front I have heard. Amazing what you can do if you don't have to put it all in a 30 second sound byte complete with editorial opinions.

Keep your head down Mike, cease fire or not.

Are there any semi-reliable estimates of how many Lebanese "civilians" were killed and how many Hezbollah fighters were killed? I've seen Lebanese "civilian" deaths identified (in the MJT comments) as being 1100, but no one (other than the IDF) seems to give a count of the Hezbollah deaths.

Are the 1100 deaths the total number of people killed in Lebanon ("civilians" AND Hezbollah)? Does the count of 1100 deaths include the "57 women and children" killed at Qana and the "217" (or whatever the number was) killed in another raid...of which both estimates have now been discredited?

It sure would be nice to get some semi-reliable estimates to use as a base for defense/criticism of Israel's actions, rather than spout off on the basis of lies. Anyone aware of such reporting?

Hassle, why not get the count on Israeli civilians too. I really don't believe a body count is a valid indicator of Israel's right to defend itself. Besides the rockets and kidnapping, there was also an unsucessful attempt to take a city in northern Israel that the MSM seems to not report.

It is akin to having your reighbour's kids chucking rocks into your yard. The neighbour can't or will not control the kids so how many times does your family have to be injured by flying rocks or window broken before you decide to react? Oh yeah, the cops in this scenario are as useful as the UN.

TC: Don't get the wrong impression...I do NOT believe that Israel is in the wrong. I was simply desiring to know where to find the "information" as opposed to the "disinformation" so as to refute the repetition of the "disinformation" by morons...as was happening in the comments of the MJT thread.

It's frustrating to hear "1100 Lebanese civilians killed" and not know for sure WHAT the number TRULY is...or how many of the 1100 were "phantom" casualties or how many were terrorists. If 1100 were a Red Crescent estimate, then I'd give it at least SOME credence...but then again, could the Red Crescent (or anyone else) tell the difference between a civilian and Hezbollah fighter in civilian clothing?
