Welcome to downtown Toronto!
One blogger’s pix and report from this afternoon’s anti-Hez counter demo is here.
We were outnumbered by pro-Hezbollah types at least 10 to one, maybe 15 to one. The cops put a large no-man’s land between us and them. We had a bunch of Israeli flags and one megaphone. The other side had a superior sound system, probably paid for by CUPE, who were there in droves, carrying large pink (?) banners.
Typical of every Toronto demo, the Socialist Worker was there too, hawking their ugly newspaper, this one with a MUMIA VS US IMPERIALISM headline. The Communist Party of Canada is so stupid they were handing out brochures with Green Helmet on the cover; one of us explained who he was, told her to google “green helmet”, and the women was apparently a little taken aback. Who knows: maybe a convert was made to the right side of history.
Also lots of what I call “Oka flags” were highly visible on the pro-terror side — surprise!
I have a feeling the pro-Hez gang is planning to make this a semi-regular event, so hey, if you missed this one, believe me: there will be others. Unfortunately. It would be nice if we could outnumber them at least once.
PS: it was nice meeting up with some readers of this blog, too. Rich, if you make me one of your INFIDEL hats I promise to wear it next time.

The ghost of Yasser Arafat was there, too. …-

We did ourselves proud! We had more people than I expected, given the short notice. The cops were great, especially considering I don’t think we had a permit. they moved us back when the crowd got big, and they got those singers out of our face.
Who was the guy on our side with the megaphone? He was passionate, level-headed, and talked non-stop for at least 45 minutes. I think he only stopped twice to take a sip of water. I want to join his fan club!
Its one thing to indoctrinate naive adult women, but innocent young children — is pathetic but effective in the long run. How sad for the Human race. DJ
I asked the cops and we don’t need a permit to demonstrate. The other guys got a permit about two weeks ago from City Hall, because they were also “going mobile”, heading down Univeristy or Yonge to the US Consulate after the rally. He also told me they are expecting a different demonstration every day of the AIDS meeting.
And yeah, that guy on the megaphone was incredible!
I would think any demo where a street is closed off needs a permit. Oh well, learn something new every day!
At the Israel rally a few weeks ago I found out you’re not allowed to wave posters etc on city property. Who’d’a thuunk it??
One cop I talked to thought there were 5,000 pro-Hizbollah people there, which is a bit discombobulating. We’ve got our work cut out for us.
How long ago was it the rentamob crew were on the other side of the street screaming “hate is not a Canadian value” at the Muslims marching against same sex marriage?
“And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods (and womanhoods!)cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”
My thanks to all that were there. Remote west coast to Hog Town is a huge trip.
Thanks again,
Pat

Mississauga Matt,
great photos! thanks for posting them
Methinks they do protest too much.
yes and Steve Lewis complaining that Stephen Harper did not attend with his cast of thousands@$750US a spot. lunch provided and a area for nursing infants. boondoggle of international proportions. And Stephen Lewis saying his replacement should be a women of colour. Lewis Lunacy, a left over from Trudopia.
Islam is a death cult? Signs like that do nothing but make us look like a bunch of ass backward rednecks.
The Calgary Peace Rally
There was no counter rally – only the 300 (plus or minus a few people) with the protest signs, the banners, and the colors. I was there flying my Canadian Flag and as far as I could see, the only one. Nobody presented a problem to me nor I to them. There were a couple of guys with an anti-Hez sign but other than that, nothing that I was aware of that was in a counter vein.
The rally was held in Memorial Park just off down town Calgary. This is a park with several memorials to the past generations who gave their lives in the South African Campaign/The Two World Wars. A very beautiful park about one block by one block in size.
It was a very quiet demonstration except for a few heated words involving the anti- Hez guys but that was quickly controlled. There were probably 20/30 City Police on site and they just quietly kept an eye on things & directed traffic during the march.
The only political speaker was the NDP rep for Calgary Center – of little consequence. He and one other speaker said about what we have all heard from Alexa M.
There were several Lebanese flags and colors as to be expected – a banner or two, an umbrella with Lebanon colors, etc. There was one Iranian Flag and one Kuwait flag. A few anti-Harper signs which was not surprising.
THE REAL KICKER was YES – there was one Hezbollah Flag (about 6′ x 4′) flown with aplombe by 5 or 6 eighteen/twenty year olds. One of them wore the yellow narrow head bandana. At the end of the speeches about 10/12 people specifically had their pictures taken while posing in front of this flag. How great is this.
I noticed the Hez flag towards the middle-end of the speeches that took place after the march. Yes, this flag was flown at the base of the memorial to our war dead. How much more reviling does it get. I have to think about this one and sit on my emotions for a bit.
I didn’t see this flag being marched in the parade earlier that went for about 10 city blocks and then back to the memorial. If any of the MSM has this on film, let’s see if they have the guts to print it.
It will be interesting to see if the MSN picked this up and/or shows it. The TV Cameras were there and the Calgary Sun was there as well. There was one (probably) Imam that was there in his whites and given the full media interview so no doubt this will be on the news tonight. He also gave a speech at the end of the “formal” speeches but I couldn’t be bothered listening. Except for the Hez flag – it was all very calm.
However, if there are those in Calgary who think we are not beginning to face that which TO is already hopelessly mired in – think again.
I asked one of the Calgary City Police about the Don’t ask/Don’t tell guidlines re citizenship/immigration & witnesses/victims. He wasn’t aware of this philosophy at all. At least we can breathe a little on this one.
No pics this time.
I learned many many years ago to not ever get involved with anything to which the Lewis Family attaches their name. That includes Stevies father, his wife, his son, and his daughter-in-law. The man and his family is a pox on the world. Stevie is feathering his nest on the backs of AIDS. I suspect that the Prime Minister knows them as well as I do.
Is the UNITED NATIONS not a huge problem in the WEST’S FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISTS ?? I mean , really, it’s like the UN’s, Annan’s, Maurice Strong’s, Saddam’s, Tongsun Park’s, Boutrous’s, role in the world to is run interference in the left’s/terrorist’s attempt to install ONE WORLD GOVERNANCE.
1) Help Saddam make AN END RUN, Oil for food.
2) Don’t be TOO TOUGH on the Teliban, tsk.
3) Let all the world’s unelected Dictators have their say, while they slaughter their own citizens.
4) Impose Hoaxes like UN’s Kyoto on us.
5) Brow beat us into A GUILT TRIP if we ever think of using racial profiling at the AIRLINE CHECK-IN COUNTER.
Infinity ) ………..
Thanks, Mississauga Matt, for your great photos of today’s demonstration(s). Quite a message for anyone with the eyes to see with (and the ears to hear with). ‘Sorry I couldn’t be there. I live too far away.
So, the Communist Party, the Six Nations, the Trotskyites, CUPE, and Hezbollah are all bedfellows: Who’s surprised? Will the MSM make it clear who was on what side, or will they veil the fact that the Commies, the Six Nations, public employee unions, etc. support an illegal terrorist group who’ve been brutally murdering innocents for years?
As usual, the grown ups (the pro-Israel side) left their children at home; not so Hezbollah and co., who had their kids there carrying signs: photos of Nasrallah, “Down with Zionism”; “Harper is a War Mongerer”; “Streets of Lebanon Became Graves for Innocent Children.”
‘Gotta get ’em young to brainwash ’em: How about “Streets of Toronto Became Gutters for Abuse of Children?” ‘Sounds about right.
A word of encouragement about being outnumbered 10 to one: the Israelites were in exactly that position against the Philistines way back in Second Chronicles. Jehoshaphat sent the musicians ahead of his army and the Philistines didn’t win (2 Chronicles 20:5-23).
More musicians next time, please!
Regarding the main picture of that kid holding a sign, the rules of logic dictate that to mean “Naziism is less than Israel,” or conversely “Israel is greater than Naziism.”
No argument here.
Actually, the sign the kid has ironically SUPPORTS Israel. The sign displays an inequality sign; displayed as it is the sign reads (mathematically) Israel is GREATER THAN Nazi Germany.
Damn, it seems I was beat to it by Missisauga Matt. Keen eye, Matt.
Calgary Clipper Darcey from Dust my Broom and Richard from no-libs, were at the back during the speeches and I was under a tree seeking shelter from the rain. The two guys you spoke of were warned they may be charged with incitement and they were given jay walking tickets before the thing started. They took a fair amount of abuse from the fanatics too, for holding up pro israel and anti hezbollah signs. Kudos to them.
Toronto has become a cesspool thanks to the immigration policies of the Liberals, spear-headed by Trudeau’s Multiculturalism policies and Charter. Montreal had a peace march with terrorist flags which had the blessing of of MP’s Coderre and Duceppe, don’t know if they were goose-stepping but it was sure as hell bad optics. Did anyone spot the illusrious Mayor of Toronto, David Miller at the event? It’s impossible to put words to such pollution of our streets and Country with displays of such vile hatred at every opportunity.
Advance notice of the pro_Israeli demonstration might bring out more supporters.
I was also at the Calgary “peace rally”. Whole lot of hate for a “peace rally”. The Iman that spoke, did so facing the Hezbollah flag, passionately waving about twenty feet in front of him. He didn’t bat an eye. After the rally I watched as he joined the Hez. supporters on the sidewalk and shook their hands. Here’s a very powerful and influential leader of the Muslim community, and not a word on how inappropriate a terrorist flag is at a “peace rally”. Shameful! How can we be confident, like they suggest we should be, that peace and acceptance is taught in their mosques? I’ve lost what little I had.
“A woman’s resistance is a proof of her experience”
What the heck does that mean? It was the sign held by a woman who was draped in the flag of Hezbollah. She spoke at the beginning of the rally and she marched at the front of the perp’s walk, (oops, parade), leading the chanting.
What the heck does her goofy sign mean? It appears to be come sort of circular reasoning whereby the fact of resistance is taken as proof of the legitimacy of resistance.
Spencer: “Islam is a death cult? Signs like that do nothing but make us look like a bunch of ass backward rednecks.”
I agree, sort of, with your objection.
If they were only interested in their own deaths, I’d say good luck and faster, please. Unfortunately, they’re more interested in the deaths of others.
In the interest of accuracy, it should be called the Religion of Human Sacrifice. Stating the obvious, and labeling things correctly, can never be described as ass backward redeneckness.
Wow! Like Liz J says!…
What kind of a country have we allowed ourselves to become? Political correctness, unions, communists, terrorists, etc.. What a SHAMEFUL display of misfits. What’s happened to everyones “mind”??!! Can’t ANYONE “THINK” anymore? What are these fools on?
You know, I hate to say this but, there’s gonna be some “nasty” encounters with some of those idiots pretty soon. I figure that the “thinking” people will pause just long enough to lower their standards for a moment to “educate” the goofs/morons and try to take back our country from the stupid! “Political correctness” be damned, we want some sense and order in our society. I really think it’s gonna get ugly before it gets any better. That’s the sad part. The good part is that once this happens, we may just stay on track for a while and become a country with a “back bone” and integrity again.
Looooooooong overdue!
Note how children are used as shields at the frtont of the protest, Hezbollah is doing this in Lebanon and what more proof do Canadians need if the Peaceful-Good Muslims in Toronto use the same tactic.
One amusing thing that I witnessed occurred when the Hizb supporters started their speeches.
Across the street from the Israeli consulate is The Royal Ontario Museum, which is undergoing extensive re-modeling.
The Hizb people set up their PA equipment on the back of a pickup truck. Just as they started to speak, a workman at the ROM, about 10 feet away, started whacking away at some steel beams.
A massive “clang” punctured everything the speakers uttered, and soon some of the Hizb supporters turned and started shouting at the workman to quit what he was doing.
People with a clue are aware that construction workers aren’t shrinking violets. Boy did he let fly at the Hizbees. First he swore at them, then he told them he had work to do, he wondered what on Earth they were doing there on a Saturday afternoon, and then questioned if they were Canadian.
The Hizb supporters were lucky that a chain link fence separated him from them.
Kathy…I want, no, need, an infidel hat.
Where am I supposed to find out about these pro-Israel
gatherings/marches? I would have definitely been there had I known.
The “Calgary Clipper” obviously left the party early. Darcey from DMB, his Bro and son as well as a couple folks from Project Alberta, Myself and a couple of other patriots who wished to remain nameless were there causing problems for the terrorist supporters… We’ll have our full posts up c/w pics and video no later than Monday am…
Felt good to be out in the sun and standing up to pure evil. I was “video camera guy”. “Megaphone Guy” is my cousin, a very passionate Israeli-Canadian. I’ll get some video of him up soon. In the meantime, here’s my first clip of today’s spectacle, “Hizb’Allah Taunts Jews in Toronto”, posted to YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTQvk3IAXjE
oh ya, Ive hobnobed with the construction worker types a time or two.
they, uh, have a certain ‘directness’ about them dealing with deadlines, problem solving, arduous working conditions.
they are after all, the builders of all you see.
my take on it? the steel worker’s timing was deliberate. steel does clang rather loudly.
Wow, Israel is not only losing the war, but the protesters of their incursions into Lebanon have better turnouts.
You guys are again on the wrong side.
And they are not Hizb supporters or Hizb people, or anti-Israel. They don’t support Israel’s actions.
Only your twist misnames.
“Myself and a couple of other patriots who wished to remain nameless were there causing problems for the terrorist supporters… We’ll have our full posts up c/w pics and video no later than Monday am…”
Sounds like a staged photo-op. Were you wearing green helmets?
“Streets of Lebanon Became Graves for Innocent Children.”
That sign happens to be absolutely true, regardless of which side you blame for it. Let’s keep in mind that reasonable people can speak up for the suffering people of Lebanon without being pro-Hezbollah.
Yeah but the strange thing about that, moderate, is there is never any mention by these people about the innocent children of Israel killed by Hez rockets. There is never any mention that Hezbollah is firing rockets from populated areas, and in fact are setting their own people up for destruction. And finally where were all these protesters when Hezbollah was firing rockets at will at the Israeli cities. They only show their true colours when Israel decides to defend itself.
I cannot believe that in this country we have apologists for terrorists, but I saw it today in the streets of Calgary and I have been seeing it online for weeks since Israel decided to defend itself.
Glad to hear you whackos were so outnumbered.
“Sounds like a staged photo-op. Were you wearing green helmets?”
We got some great pics… Not staged though… There’s one with a “Harper Let Canadians Down” sign hoisted right next to a hezbollah flag… That sort of stuff doesn’t get staged… And it was taken right in the middle of “rednek country”: Calgary, Alberta…
ps: No helmets involved… we were all nekked in the helmet dept…
“That sign happens to be absolutely true, regardless of which side you blame for it. Let’s keep in mind that reasonable people can speak up for the suffering people of Lebanon without being pro-Hezbollah.”
And not a word about the suffering of israelis who have to put up with how many wayward rockets per day launched into CIVILIAN enclaves?
Hey Moderate: we agree with you. The problem is the people at that rally WERE pro-Hezbollah. Which kind of makes them terrorist sympathizers.
Craig, moderate, dave you did the see the pics showing communists, Hezbollah , first nations among others all standing united side by side, on a street in a city, in a FREE country.
I guess your whako if you want it to stay that way even if it means grasping the meaning of real tolerance……….. putting up with unbelievable disgusting demonstrations and the people that blindly support them.
I don’t know why we even bother to spend money trying to root out terrorists, who are we really saving?
The greatest threat to this Country are those that would support this demonstration. As I have stated here many times before, the greatest threat to our way of life is the leftern world within. The lib/left idiots will still be sitting on their porches wondering what’s happening as the enemy surrounds them. Too stupid and ignorant of reality to understand what is happening until it’s too late. I truly wish you all suffer a fool’s fate.
Who was it that said you can forgive your enemy but never a traitor? Hopefully the traitors to our way of life will again suffer that fools fate.
Maybe the immigration enthusiasts for unrestricted immigration into Canada, will take a look at these pictures and remember something about cause and effect.
Could you imagine if the Israelis had unrestricted immigration?
traitor: one who betrays one’s country, a cause, or a trust
Canadian soldiers fighting taliban
taliban = al qaida = hezbolla
therefore all hezbo supporters are traitors to this country’s cause
note regarding casualties..
on one excercise with the british army, we carried 30 bodybags for expected casualties….we used them all….in a cold war excercise….soldiers die in peace and war….bless them all
postscript…let’s not forget who caused the largest single day casualty count for canadian soldiers since the Korean war….hezbo shooting down a herc with 9 canucks…..hmmmmmm
kingstonlad – I always thought the Syrian’s pulled the trigger? Either way it was a crime.
Thanks for standing up at the rally, and for the write up. It was an unreal experience for me. I have posted photos, and some of my own observations, at: http://translucentbeauty.net/blog/
in case you’re interested.
Thanks again,
Casey
Quote: “And they are not Hizb supporters or Hizb people, or anti-Israel. They don’t support Israel’s actions.

Well, if they weren’t Hezbollah supporters, it is strange that some had t-shirts that said: Hezbollah, and they carried Hezbollah flags.
Further, if they aren’t Hezbollah supporters, or “anti-Israel,” it sure is strange that the crowd erupted with cheers and applause when the rally leader here in Toronto announced: “I have good news for you. Today Hezbollah has killed 25 Israeli troops. And yesterday, Hezbollah killed 21 Israeli soldiers.”
But yeah, maybe we are “misnaming” them.
Casey
Western Canadian, I totally agree with you. Yes the threat of the left “within” is going to be harder than grinding down the medieval Islamofascists.
The evidence is in the Toronto Star article, you can pick it up at Bourque. In it Alexander Trudeau says:
“Pierre Trudeau had a friendship with Fidel Castro that went beyond politics. It was a mutual admiration between two men who put their unmatched intellects at the service of their country”
This drivel reeks of the kind of academic adolescence the Liberals regularly spout off with ..
Fidel “goggle” Castro “ synthesizes information quickly and gets back to you with ever deeper and more complex questions, getting more and more excited as he illuminates, through his Socratic interrogation, new parcels of knowledge and understanding he might add to his own mental library.”
Here’s the real scary part…
“It is true that Cubans may eventually cast away the communist orthodoxy of the revolution. They will become tempted by American capital…”
ahhh …. capital … America … now there’s the real enemy.
Got that? … Fidel who had all this mental ability yet was too cowardly to hold an election because he knew normal people would not fall for his autocratic BS. Now poor Cuba is going to lose Castro and be faced with democratic elections, ownership of property and the free flow of capital. Oh my gosh, how awful … now there is only Kim Jong-il left.
Did Alexandre Trudeau say, “It is true that Cubans may eventually cast away the communist orthodoxy of the revolution. They will become tempted by American capital…”?
If so, this statement is breathtaking in its monumentally arrogant audacity: Trudeau and his brother are sitting on a pile of million$$$, the recipients of their father’s and grandfather’s monetary largesse, probably itself “American capital.”
I guess it’s OK for Trudeau the Younger to live in opulent splendour, while the poor peasants of Cuba scratch out a living for themselves and their families, because they’re being “spared” the evils of “American capital.”
Give me a break.
