Caledejanais

On further reflection, one wonders why Curtis Dagenais chose such a antiquated course of action to settle the land claim he had with his parents, when today’s enlightened police forces deal with attempts on the lives of police officers” in a way that’s reflective of 2006.”
Had Dagenais only had the presence of mind to set up a roadblock using downed SaskPower transmission towers, cover his face with a scarf and set fire to a few tires and bridges before his deadly assault on three officers, the RCMP might well be surrounding the area south of Spiritwood this afternoon, keeping a wary eye on the angry residents of the Mildred area now forced from their homes.

  1. Does no one no longer understand the concept of the iron fist wrapped in a soft glove?
    Apparently not.
Everyone is passive aggressive these days. They want to wait until the absolute last moment and then burst into a hysterical frenzy of revenge like a wild woman.
There are no strong male leaders left in Canada.

  2. Several OPP officers who wish not to be identified said they believe their hands were tied by the outcome of Ipperwash, and blamed Boniface for bringing “shame” to the police force.
Good. The rank and file hate her because she is a spineless coward. But, here’s the money quote:
Boniface conceded the native occupation is a sensitive issue and had to be dealt with in a delicate way
“Sensitive issue”? You are either breaking the law or you’re not. Period. And shouldn’t the law be color blind? In otherwords, I’m a gutless liberal of the useless multi-culti pc ilk that is willing to overlook blatant lawlessness because some cultures shouldn’t be held as accountable as others. I’m sure she developed that logic after her undergrad “sensitivity” orientation and from one of the women’s/ethnic/racial/transgendered/gay/reformed carnivores victim electives she surely took. If this was forced upon her from above, one intelligent option she could have exercised was resigning in indignation.

  3. Well said Penny. Sensitivity works in two directions. Chief Boniface (Winner of the Order of Ontario for her work with the aboriginal community) is required to wear blinders. She simply cannot ignore court orders and crimes of violence simply because the perps are native and their past and future has to be considered. What Kate has stated about Dagenais’s methods has real ring of truth to it. Pretty damn scary.

  4. “white christian kids”
Uhh…huh. You sure they are’nt white lib secural humanists ?
    nah.

  5. @BCL
Kate “trying to start a race war”? What on earth do you think was going on there? A Home and School Association Meeting”?
The “Warrior” hoodlums can thank their stars that castration is now a condition of employment for Ontario cabinet ministers and senior OPP officers.

  6. Atwood – the commentor you responded to is under a permanent ban, thus I apologize for leaving your comment hanging.

  7. “under a permanent ban”
sigh…..if only we could do that to ALL liberals
Good. I got tired of reading that idiots moronic ravings.

  8. I find their moral reletivism and equivalance repugnant.
The very idea of grouping those that are law abiding in the same camp as those that are not.

  9. So she denies that they are exempt from the law; the ‘stuff’ didn’t happen I guess,it was all a delusion that you, the viewers and residents suffered.
Is there not ONE judge in Ontario who will stand up to this nonsense and act? If not, the rule of law is dead in Ontario.
Sometimes , a revolution can be a good thing.

  10. Caledonia is why you cannot trust the government or any of its agencies to protect you.
Styne has written on that a number of times after 911 about how the “alphabet soup” of agencies and departments completely failed that day.
When faced with a challenge such as this most Governments (particularly most liberal governments) will take the easiest most expediant route. Which is sitting on thier fat ass.

  11. Do I have to spell it out for you folks? When I state someone has been banned, you should refrain from replying to them because their posts will be deleted, sooner or later.
    So, stop.

  12. I sent an e-mail to the OPP about their abysimal behavior in the Caledonia affair. Well after a few weeks I got a polite politically correct answer from them. They stated the same thing as Boniface, it is a very delicate ,sensitive matter and must be dealt with in a delicate way. What a load of crappola! These were lawbreakers in every sense of the word and all should have been rounded up and in the cooler the minute they put up a barricade. The OPP is toothless and useless, unless of course they are dealing with “whitey”.

  13. Eliza. Was a typical form letter. I got the same one, I’m sure. Maybe we should be organizing a giant rally to take back what the Indians ‘took back’ in Caledonia. I don’t imagine the OPP could stop ten or twenty thousand ‘onlookers’from moving the barricades back the other way.
What’s the address of the Caledonia citizens website again?

  14. Doug, my feeling as well and for a long time now. We don’t have leadership anymore we have consensus management.

  15. consensus management? more like manflop- management by -fear losing opportunistic pension.

  16. Is there not ONE judge in Ontario who will stand up to this nonsense and act?
Judge Marshall ordered that the protestors be removed from the land in dispute, and he is frustrated as well that the rule of law has been ignored.

  17. Good that he shares the sense of frustration but is there anything that he can actually do to ramp-up pressure I wonder?
It’s my opinion that the MSM has avoided this story like the plague though it certainly merits intense coverage.
Ontario’s citizens should be collectively irate and ready to take to the streets over this non-application of the law.
I guess I am but one of a minority that believes this is an enormously important legal/police fiasco and that Ontario citizens are being “played”.
One poster(saga) at Angry stated that “The OPP have to uphold the SuprememCourt of Canada ruling that aboriginals pursuing land claims issues are not to be removed like common criminals. The reason for this ruling is that Canada is so far behind in dealing with legitimate land claims that aboriginals are forced into civil protest to guard their lands fromm desecration.”
This was news to me; a special class of citizens would thus be created in my opinion.
Boniface yesterday stated that she denies that the protestors are exempt from the law.
What the hell is going on, the track record is there for all to see and the best she can do is to say that it didn’t happen?
We seem destined to play out a poorly scripted rip-off of a Monty Python sketch but this time it is reality.
    Say no more.

  18. There are quite a few now, Brian, but I think you’re probably looking for this one, http://citizensofcaledonia.ca , which is actually put together by some of the people of Caledonia. A few other sites of interest:
    http://caledoniawakeupcall.com
http://sisis.nativeweb.org (The Emergency Action Alert at the very top is about the situation in Caledonia)
http://reclamationinfo.com (fair amount of discussion on the message board)
    http://49thparallel.hostyourdomain.ca (another discussion board)
I imagine Google would find more.

  19. Why do think Canada is so far behind others in settling land claims, I think I know the reason it is because we here in Canada had to get stuck with those Europeans that still have a little bit of Hitler rooted within them. You are blind to the fact that your forefathers were greedy land speculators and develope policies of self interest for the “majority”, well I guess this would work after they release a small pox epidemic that literally wipes out millions of the original inhabitants it does not hurt the cause. You murder races for their lands and resources face it and then you scream where’s the justice? What a bunch of hypocrites. And it was real smooth how you drag the Six Nations reclamation in with the Dagenaise fiasco still trying to blame those you spin propaganda against in hopes of deflecting the attention away from the length you will go to in the interests of keeping land, and that is shooting two police officers, again who are the criminals? F**king Hypocrites!
