That means there plenty of time to corner the Public Works minister of the day, Scott Brison. Yet, his name was never mentioned in the piece. Instead, CTV showed footage of the new PW minister walking through a lobby and told us officials hadn’t briefed him yet.

Well it’s about bloody time! Hopefully it will give the talking heads something to discuss other than the “shoddy” job the PMO is doing with press releases & interviews & the like. Rosemary Thompson was upset because Emerson cancelled a conference call having got stuck in traffic (like the man doesn’t have a cell phone? which the media didn’t think to ask).
Do they really think he’s going to lay his head on the chopping block for them? I’d tell them to take a flying leap.
Remember the comments last year that Adscam was just the tip of the iceberg? Seems to be true.
Watched the Fifth Estate last night. It was all about the Mulroney/ Airbus Scandal, from 1991. Are these guys a bit behind the times?

The media are really upset that the Conservatives don’t have a bunch of spin doctors out there manipulating the messages for them.
Couldn’t believe the sad faces on Fife & the rest about the fact that they are not getting flacks out there spinning tales and making up the song sheets that verybody was supposed to sing from.
Thank God – finally!!!! Government is no longer a side show – it is going to be run like a damned business instead of a popularity contest skrew you in the media zoo.
This was like a showdown at the OK Corral – a staring contest so to speak and guess what – PMSH won!! Finally they are onto something else – not that they don’t have enough dirty scandals to investigate! Lets hope this is the end of it.

Great to see the story on, but with three weeks of sports and hockey to tie us over, this is about as far as it gets. Meanwhile, another day of Emerson getting raked over the coals and all will be well in the world, it would seem to the MSM.
Notice how they used the story against the Conservatives by asking the new minister. This means that they purposefully waited so that they could try to throw this on the new government.

I for one would like to know why this is just coming out now. Someone sure has a hold over the MSM – I find it interesting how Lloyd and Cathy made it seem like they just found this out and also how they put it out during the smear campaign going on right now around the Conservatives.
Not one mention on the segment about the Liberal government who oversaw this program for years. They should be asking Scott Brison about this, not the new minister. Duh!
Names, fraud charges and recover the money. Liberal theft and corruption cannot go unpunished. Diplomatic pressure should be put on those off-shore countries that are sheltering the stolen millions of Canadian taxpayer dollars.
The CTV whistle-blower story on the Reloscam scandal – the scandal being that this particular scandal was known about prior to the election and like Dingwall was hushed up. What is going on that scandals that the Liberals pull can be scraped under the carpet but the Conservatives do two cabinet appointments and it becomes the scandal everyone is talking about.
I truly wonder about the mentality of the MSM, the blog hosts and to some extent we bloggers that we can – for four days – do nothing but talk about the good, the bad and the ugly of the Conservative Cabinet picks while millions of our dollars have been scammed by liberal appointees and civil servants.
I for one am sick of this – I don’t know about all of you but I work to damn hard for my money and I have NEVER been able to go to anything close to those Relocscam destinations
– I would challenge all of you to send e-mails to reporters, publishers, media outlets whom ever expressing your disgust with how the media have conducted themselves regarding this past few weeks and the scandals they should be reporting on rather than screaming and hollering and making up scandals where there are none!!!

It is no accident that Andre Arthur was elected to Parliament. The powers that be, are corrupt and incompetent. The CRTC is also a great place to start logging complaints.
Perhaps a few of us should band together and oppose the license renewals for CBC, CTV, Rogers and Global.

Scott Brison is too busy smearing his former party to answer any questions about his tenure in that Ministry – besides a la J. Chretien – “so what if a few million went missing here and there?”
On Global tonight, Ian Waddell (NDP Vancouver-Kingsway) was quoting member of parliament conduct rules, stating that there are sanctions to be had against members who “cross the floor to accept a cabinet position”, and that they should be enforced. Where was he when Brison and Stronach did it? Not screaming for sanctions, that’s for sure. If you are going to smear someone, smear evenly.
I wondered what hapened to this one. I asked around on a couple of blogs (including this one) a while back and got no response. I actually thought I was dreaming or drunk or something when I read it originally. Glad to see it finally come to the fore.

Brian, if you read the comments at Craig’s site, CTV had the info before Christmas, and the story was scheduled to air in early January but got “bumped” – keep in mind that, was it the President? some senior exec at Bell Globemedia was the Campaign Chair for the Liberals for Ontario. Gee. I wonder why the story was bumped? Apparently Tomlinson caught some crap for the Income Trust story – she was off the air for quite a while after that one.

Oh, and Garth Turner is a milquetoast. Sounds like PMSH read him the “united we stand, divided we fall” speech and then the idiot blogged about it. Pretty much a fluff piece. Seemed to smear the Conservatives more than anything else. No mention of the previous regime and put it square in the lap of Fortier. Imagine, him not being fully briefed within four days.

If Fortier is asked again about this, which I hope he is, his response should be the following:
Having just received this position I have no knowledge of wrong doing but will definitely be looking into it. I do know that CTV was aware of all this in December and that you did not take the opportunity to question Mr. Brison regarding this matter. Maybe you should at least get some comments from him, he may be in possession of more details and is certainly more familiar with how this program worked than I am – YET.
That would expose the CTV for sitting on it AND clearly demonstrate who was supposed to be in charge and watching over this mess. Hell, Fortier should run to Global TV to make this statement, make sure that the dig to CTV is aired! This would also show that he is taking the allegations seriously and already working for Canadians.
PM Harper should be instructing Fortier to nail this one to the wall, It would show no nonsense, a parl. comm. should be formed & any abuse found YOUR FIRED simple as that. As for the media, face it the liberals are old news to them now. they are out for one thing only now, to trash & bash PM Harper every chance they get.

The report seemed to imply that there was no way of finding out the names of the “holiday goers” but surely they had to register at the hotels and in some countries they would need to leave/register their passports at the hotels.The report was also lame in that it did not mention any of the other countries.
I went in & watched it again, real nice spin at the end of the report “weev’e been trying to ask the minister” talk about making it look like the conservatives are hiding from this. I then emailed whistleblower 1) why did you make it look like this is the new Minister’s fault like he was in hiding & showing file tape, him going into get sworn in Also why did you not also question the former minister in this report.
2) why was this report stalled untill after the election

Looked at Taxpayer.ca nothing on it at all, I guess 2billion of misused taxpayer funds is chump change now. Has anyone ever sat down & totaled up the mispent funds over just the past few years under liberal watch, or is it that they don’t make a calculator that will go that high.

But it you look at the letters section of MSM they are overwhelmingly in agreement with “conventional wisdom”.
Maybe MSM is just an echo chamber now.
People who have tired of the load of tripe that they serve have stopped buying, which leaves only those that are still drinking the Treaudopian Kool-Aid, to buy or watch.
Even if those letters are not representative and have been chosen by the editor that just means that they are not Newspapers but Propaganda sheets.

CTV needs to dig and find out why money to relocate an governmnet employee, say Capt Smith from Camp Borden to Camp Gagetown, is being spent on hotels in resorts around the world.

I, too, sent an email to CTV, several in fact. I even suggested that I smelled a cover up and Ms. T. emailed me back (in part) not to contact her again unless I had a story for her to follow up. I do, in fact, but be dammed if she’ll get it. I guess freedom of speech is reserved for the press and not for the citizen here in Canada.
