Karl Rove has agents everywhere;
Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill are privately bristling over Howard Deans management of the Democratic National Committee and have made those sentiments clear after new fundraising numbers showed he has spent nearly all the committees cash and has little left to support their efforts to gain seats this cycle, ROLL CALL reports.
Congressional leaders were furious last week when they learned the DNC has just $5.5 million in the bank, compared to the Republican National Committees $34 million.
And to think that one of Howard Dean’s assets in his quest for the Democratic nomination was a proven track record of fiscal responsibility and 11 straight balanced budgets in his home state of Vermont.

That track record sounds strangely familiar.
Superintendant Chaulmers: “Howaaaard!”
Nelson points finger at Dean: “Ha ha.”
maybe we could give gagliano a supply of manilla envelopes and send him down to help out and they could have as much dough as the liberals do.
heh heh heh
Perhaps Teddy Kennedy can float them a loan. The money Papa Joe made with Al Capone bootlegging Montreal whiskey to Chicago during prohibition is a textbook example of the power of compound interest. Similar to the fact that if you were to march every person in China into the ocean and the line won’t ever end, the Kennedy clan will never run out of money.
I wonder if one were to trace the bloodlines of Capone and Alphonse Gagl…..whoops, there goes my “Alcan headgear” again! heh heh!
Hey, what’s the fuss? It’s still a balanced budget. In fact, he technically has a surplus.
Dean: “Oh, you mean I was supposed to hang on to it?”
Mother Sheehan laying a liplock on Chavez, that’s a money getter for sure.
Given their platform and the antics of their spokesmen and women (and androids, like the Algore bot, and whatever Ted Kennedy mutated into) one has to wonder who the imbeciles were that they got five million bucks from.
Ten bucks each from half a million moveon.dork types who still live with Mummy?
Isn’t Dean a doctor? While waiting for Judge Alito to reverse Roe v. Wade I suppose he could open a chain of partial birth abortion clinics and offer volume discounts and free membership to the Democrat party…..
OT.
McKenna has just announced he will not run for the leadership of the LPC.
Like all Liberals McKenna is convoluted and disingenious – this is step #1 in a “Draft McKenna” movement – mark my words!!!
makes me wanna SCREAM !!
Come on, somebody had to say it 🙂 🙂 🙂
What you don’t know about ‘enviro friendly’ Howard Dean:

He’s a hyporite, to boot.
He’s like Kerry, too. He won’t release his papers to the public, either.

BCer – McKenna
He was one year behind me at St FXU in Nova Scotia deep in the last century. He was a “goody two shoes” sorta guy, but a decent chap for sure.
Based on those long ago observations, I think your theory is very sound. He has a bit of a salvationist streak I think, and he might very well want to be begged to save the world (which of course is the LPC).
But he’s also a shrewd “goody two shoes” so he may think the rot and corruption is too deep and about to get deeper, so he may just be keeping his powder dry.
You did laugh, of course, when you heard his comment about the total dysfunctionality of the US federal government, i.e., they don’t just have one corporate stooge making all the decisions and appointments :).
This is a deliberately misleading post. The entire Hill article should be read for proper context.
I know blogs are supposed to be provocative, but I did not know that lying was part of the game.
Peter Leftcoaster writes about McKenna:
“He was one year behind me at St FXU in Nova Scotia deep in the last century. He was a “goody two shoes” sorta guy, but a decent chap for sure.”
Is it true, as some of my St FX friends have claimed, that he ran for student government on a platform of “If you want more dances, vote for Francis”?
a@n.on:
You’re absolutely right. The whole story is that Dean is a stooge of KKKarl Rove, who we all know controls the world from a secret undisclosed location where they beam thought control rays. Your tin foil hat reflects them though, right?
Roseberry …. re: McKenna
Well he was class president (Frosh, I think).
And weirdly, that DOES ring a bell. That is probably true. But you know a mature and worldly sophmore would not be paying much attention to what the children were up to :).
These were simpler times (sigh).
One rich kid was expelled for — wait for it — driving a car onto the campus. I am not in early demential!
He struck me as a very serious guy very clearly on a mission; but he was sanctimonious even then as I recall. And to repeat, I think he’s good people, and he seems to have done a good job in NB. At X I think he did volunteer work and stuff, maybe even with the Cody Institute.
Maybe the DNC needs a Balanced Budget Amendment? What’s really odd is that Vermont does not have to have a balanced budget. Which would indicate that Mr. Dean can indeed match spending with income.
Boards he sat on? “Amassed”. Goody McKenna stepped in the doodoo$ “after” he left office. Was that his goal “before/during” his time in office? >
“Asked what he’ll do next, McKenna said he’s giving it some thought. He amassed a fortune in the private sector after leaving the premier’s office and sat on a number of company boards.” >>

What BS, the truth is the DNC raised more than $51 million in 2005 – a record for a non-election year and a 20% increase over the total raised in 2003.

Steve in BC.
the article says “balance” in the bank not how much is raised.
the libs raised a lot too , and spent more , putting them in “debt”.
