Yup. Layton sure knows how to f*ck up his country. Good that he’s a non-issue in this election. And it looks like he won’t gain many if any seats this time around either.
The idea of announcing new export taxes on Quebec Hydro and Ontario car parts would be a ‘heh’ moment. But it ain’t going to happen. Shortly after Harper takes over the reins in Ottawa he will sit down with GW and negotiate an end to all this nonsense. Canada will join in a realistic plan to defend North America and the US will end all their silly posturing about issues like softwood lumber.
It’s so easy for adults to find a solution to their differences. It’s only when one is an immature dimwit that it becomes difficult. When an adult deals with a child like this the thing to do is to “send them to their room” till they smarten up. Canada is just emerging from the “room” they’ve been in for oh so many years. About time.

The campaigns ofLayton & Martin remind me of a movie starring Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels – just when you think you’ve seen the penultimate in dumb, the other guy goes one further.

I think if you step back and look at this, it becomes clear that the NDP sees the writing on the wall here in Saskatchewan, they’re not popular provincally any more, and smil’n jack isn’t helping. They were shut out last election and they will be again, right in tommies back yard! Now it appears they’re giving up and pulling out to consolidate they’re support in constituent rich Ont. hoping for any scrap they can find. The West can be desposed of so easily by central canada !!

I think we need to start reminding people to get out and vote, things could be tighter in Saskatchewan than we realise. It would be a shame to see the NDP get a few seats from the Conservatives because of low turnout.
