  1. Ha, ha, ha :-).
I think you Canadians need to have shows about your own politicians – you’ve got a lot to be proud about.
Happy New Year – when Stephen Harper is Prime Minister!!

  2. The Democrats have retreated into a fantasy television world where they are the US government because that’s the only place it will ever happen for the foreseeable future.
I have to laugh but hesitate to put up the old Bwahaha.
For you mental health .. don’t bother with those shows .. includes that old piece of crap West wing if it’s even still running.

  3. I guess CTV ran out of football money. I watched football all afternoon.
You are right though, it’s a pity CTV can’t get something a bit more canadian, eh. (For those not out curling, skidooing and playing hockey you know.

  4. Commander in Chief and West Wing are two pieces of leftist Democrat effluvia. Having driven the Democratic Party ever more leftward, the leftist Dems are farther and farther away from controlling the White House or either House of Congress than ever.
If such shows help them cope with their delusional state without taking meds, so be it.

  5. “the former Prime Minister of Canada Sir —-I mean Mame.”
Paul pulls out a banned handgun and with a atypical deer in the headlights look begins shooting.
    President Geena staggers and falls.
“water , water, all I want is water , Im so dry.”
Former PMPM —-“not on my watch, its Canadas and no one elses.” and eats the barrel .
Blam!!!! fade to commie red. the end.

  6. Commander in Chief, The Left Wing, Lord of the Rings, The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe…….I just love that genre.

  7. Yes, just what I’d love to do with my free time, spend a day watching Democratic delusions on screen. I guess I’d follow it up by watching the Aaron Sorkin acid trips that are known as “The West Wing.”
I’m with Josef- a Canadian-based political drama would be GREAT, and based on this past year, it wouldn’t be too hard to get ideas to write about.
Happy New Year now…and when Prime Minister Stephen Harper is elected!!!

  8. On second thought, maybe we should try a canadian version, Commander in Thief…. Commander of Thieves………
Mary Walsh or Rick Mercer as producer???? Just a thought.

  9. how about “The Trailer Park Boys Go to Ottawa”
Bubbles and crew could teach the Liberals, and the civil service about free enterprise and integrity.

  10. Frankly, I thought that the 12:30 – 1:00 am shows to be even more disturbing. A naked Drew Carey? UGH!

  11. Y’all know that this kind of show is actually a part of democratic strategy. If the only types of Presidents Americans see on TV are left-leaning democrat types, then the end result will be that that will become normative in the eyes of the viewer, and if they are able to make the viewer resonate with the TV characters, they will resonate with their real life counter-parts. Its all long term election strategy.

  12. Hey, PaulM, if your theory holds true……oh my god………Hillary…….AAHHHHH….. Wait a sec, that can’t be, I’m pretty sure Hillary is a guy………Whew!!! ya kinda freaked me out there Paul.

  13. Can’t imagine in which Universe showing Geena Davis as the Commander-In-Chief, over and over, would not be alarming! Ohhhhh, wait, I know.
    In the Liberal Universe!
*whew* I like to know what the heck’s going on, don’cha know?

  14. My wife tells me this commander in chief has been on all afternoon. I ask her what cahnnel, expecting it to bee CBC, I have seen some sick adds, and she says no CTV.
I leave the living room in discust, call up some sanity, and here it is on the internet.
Just what is going on? Is there no safe place???

  15. Looking for some entertainment, what is a good liberal left wing well used site I can visit?

  16. hahahahahah
Yes. I came home from a night on an island to celebrate New Years and stumbled upon this. How horrid.

  17. When John F Kennedy was assinated that was the beginning of the end of democracy in the USA. I remember it well. Next was Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King. Do any of you remember? Do you care? I think not. Ignorance is blissfull. You small minded Tories are legends in your own minds.

  18. Archie:
Wellllll……..come to a small mind..you are what i call a …..dummmmmmmmmy..did i miss it or did the USA move on froooooommmmm ….yor smalllllll…. mind

  19. Archie:
Its a new year…..SDA is becoming big…your new..or your not…weeding the garden…no weed wacker..get smart or get lost.

  20. And here I always thought that the USA was a republic, not a democracy – and that the beginning of the end of the republic was in the 1860s, when the US constitution was first consigned to the dustbin.

  21. So many channels and almost nothing but crap coming from moonbat writers.
For information and entertainment, the internet is the way to go now.
If only I could afford a big screen plasma TV to hook up to the PC… that’d be heaven.
“Commander in Chief”– never watched it. Pro-Democrat, I understand it is. If I do ever watch it, that’ll only be ’cause Geena Davis is hot.
BTW, caught some of the Air Farce on the CBC (yeah, I know, but I was surfing and they had a funny skit on, so I watched a couple of mins). I now believe that show is nothing but lying leftist propaganda masquerading as humor. Seems to have an agenda to tell lies about Conservatives and Republicans. The small-minded will believe there’s some truth to the jokes, which are often founded on incorrect impressions of reality. But then again, it’s on the CBC and produced by the CBC, so…

  22. If you’re getting mad watching comedy maybe you need to take a step back and quit taking yourself so seriously. The last thing I want to see is the blogs evolving into the garbage that we see in the US. Nothing but propoganda and lies.

  23. Kate,
sorry for the OT, but you just have to check out what Steven Taylor has his hands on!
    Cheers

  24. the bear, it’s not unreasonable to get mad about comedy that we’re FORCED to pay for, like Air Farce. Canadian Sentinel’s comment was about the propoganda and lies within Air Farce, the propoganda that I fund off of my paycheque.
I’m not taking myself too seriously by saying this the bear. I can barely make ends meet each month – So the hundreds of dollars I’m forced to give to the feds each month, which get diverted to stuff like this, frustrates me and angers me.
Blogs can propogandize and lie all they want. (I think you were ignoring the many American blogs committed to an eloquent pursuit of the truth, though). Just don’t read those that you don’t think are good. They don’t bother me, because I’m not funding them. If Air Farce didn’t receive government funding, I wouldn’t take them seriously or pay attention. I just wouldn’t watch if I was offended or annoyed by the content. I take it seriously because I can’t afford to fund those working against my interests.

  25. Stronach is going to run for the leadership of the Libs, based on her principles. CTV is just getting the Canadian public used to the idea.

  26. Had to happen, i guess.
For the first time, i disagree, Kate.
I watched 2 hours of Commander in Chief, and enjoyed it except for the plethora of commercials.
Kind of amusing in comments that this show is so universally condemned, even by those who obviously watch Trailer Park Boys.
    Give me a break.

  27. “Bear”, those who know me know I don’t take myself too seriously.
Angela’s in the same boat as I. Don’t know about you.
And don’t condemn those blogs that lie without also condemning the MSM. The MSM does it, only more subtly, via manipulative wording and headlines and via the leaving out or downplaying of important info.
Besides, although my own blog does have a strong partisan orientation, I don’t tell lies. I present the cold, hard facts as I can find them and explain my own position on them. Why? There has to be balance out there. With just the MSM, this isn’t going to happen at all. And that’s a serious thing.
If I lied, as opposed to making an honest error, I’d be exposed for sure and that’d be it for my blog. Not so the MSM… yet. Dan Rather’s demise should be a warning to those MSMers who think they’re invincible.

  28. The portion of the one episode I watched covered the following topics:
WH assistance promising details of George Clooney tryst in exchange for favourable story on Ms. President *sex & lies*
An aide who lied about HIV, fired, then rehired because ‘”we all have secrets” *sex and lies*
A daughter being taped while petting *sex & videotape*
Date bragging about having sex with daughter *sex & lies*
    son cheating on essay *lies*
son throwing daughters “sluttiness” in father'(?) face *sex*
Significant other gets top job or relationship is over *sex &?*
40 year tape of house leader(/) being racist *videotape*
    ****
so, lets see, what do we have here? A White House that resembles an afternoon soap opera.
    Sex, lies and videotape.
And then there’s Geena Davis, delivering each line in the same cadence and tone of voice as the last.
    Ugh.

  29. Kate:
Driving around the Lower Mainland yesterday to visit a church and some dear friends on friends on New Year’s Day, I pulled out my battery-powered portable TV a few times and noticed this.
CTV Vancouver (UHF 32) kept running “Commander in Chief” every time I turned on my 5″ Panasonic portable. I watched most of one episode as it was interesting, but that was enough.
I’ve seen cable networks (like the US AMC) run “marathon” series for Clint Eastwood or John Wayne, but I can’t recall an over-the-air broadcaster run a same-day “marathon” of seven episodes of a single series.

  30. Kate:
As CTV isn’t received in Seattle on cable TV or OTA, I happened to notice yesterday that CTV actually runs MORE commercials per half-hour than ABC. They may use “pitch acceleration” to slightly speed up the core program in lieu of editing, to fit more commercials in.
CTV Vancouver advertises itself as “CTV Channel 9” but in the non-cable world its call letters are CIVT and it transmit on UHF channel 32.

  31. John Kennedy was no “John Kennedy” either. His legacy of supposed “greatness” is a fraud. As some of you might recall, the Bay of Pigs was his idea, which was poorly handled enough to leave the Russians with the notion that they could stuff nukes into Cuba without much fuss. Then, after Kennedy finally woke up, the world came the closest its ever been to nuclear war. The list could go on.
The Kennedy Camelot is as much a fanciful legend as is that of the King of the Britons.

  32. So that’s the sort of content there is in the program C-i-C.
Guess I’m not missing anything. Except for the cuteness of Geena Davis, who I guess ain’t no award-winning actress. They could’ve cast Traci Lords for a better act, probably. She’s far more interesting. Loved her in “First Wave”.
The content actually reminds me of the actual behavior of the Liberal government under Paul Martin… it’s about nothing. SameSexMarriage, lies and audiotape, right?
It’s time for the Liberal show to be cancelled… now!

  33. Who cares it’s acting and sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s an act and what’s real. It’s American B.S. It’s to sell us an ideal. An American ideal…………

  34. A leftist-American ideal, that is…
Not a real American ideal. The left doesn’t like America, as far as I can see. All they do is dump on their own country. They undermine their own democracy and security. Just like Canadian leftists have already successfully done to Canada.
