  1. Kate – re the discussion on the future of Canada if the liberals even get to form another minority government: without even being aware that others were discussing this, my 34 year old son and I agreed on Tuesday that if this happens we will both vote yes in the next Quebec referendum.
We are anglo-quebecois and see no future in Canada if the people of Ontario insist in foisting another corrupt, venal, self-serving liberal govt on us.

  2. Kate please post warnings when linking to Moonbat sites. Never know what kind of diseases one could end up with.

  3. Jack,
I wish you all the best in the next referendum. If I am still living in Quebec at the time, I will vote to secede as well, but my plan is to be living somewhere else by that time. Regardless of the election outcome, the Librano$ will be back in majority land either this election or next and the pork-barrelling and wasting of money will continue. I am no longer paying $35,000/year in taxes for this nonsense.

  4. Yes, that sure is one ‘progressive’ site. Received so many errors trying to navigate it that I will have to do a spyware/virus scan later on today. Same person designing the site must have come up with that moronic poll.

  5. Moonbat? moi?
You know I posted that thing on progressive bloggers expecting some recognition or debate about how innapropriate (read: stupid) the poll was. You know, self-criticism. Moonbat to moonbat. Got nothing.
Instead I ended up linked by SDA and getting more ‘hits’ in an hour than I’ve gotten…well, ever. I won’t be able to look a progressive in the eye for a while now. Have to stare at these birkenstocks for the next few days at least. At least I understand how Kate blew away the Canadian competition now.

  6. I was just over there and in typical liberano style i was either block or their system is screwed up, either way i could not post my anti liberano statement for some reason? Make me wonder if it isnt run by some scumwad from the MSM.

  7. FREE,
Must have been what happened to me when I tried to post a comment. Got all kinds of SQL errors, then it appears the site crashed. I don’t think such a ‘progressive’ site promoting hate against our biggest ally and trading partner will be missed anyways.

  8. Hey Ted L Nancy:
Are you the same guy that used to write those fake (and hilarious) letters to corporations?

  9. What shocks me are the polls taken that show robust support for the Liberals in Ontario.
The problem with the people who support the Liberals – specifically in Ontario, which is where I live – is that the vast majority are uneducated on the issues; uneducated about anything related to politics.
What I would like to see is some organization do the following:
They should stand on a nuetral street corner in Toronto (such a Yonge and Bloor) and ask people, “If an election was held today, who would you vote for?”
At that point, separate those who say Liberal from Conservative (I’m leaving the NDP out of this test because, to their credit, I believe their supporters are knowledgable about the issues, though they lie on the opposite end of the political spectrum from the Conservatives).
Keep questioning people until you get 100 Liberal voters and 100 Conservative voters (because it’s Toronto, it would take a lot longer to get 100 Conservative voters).
After you have got 100 from each camp, give them a questionaire, which would feature 50 questions, worth 2 points each for a possible total score of 100.
The questions would be balanced in that they would feature a mix of questions for both: economic questions for Conservatives; social policy issues for Liberals.
And in order to take the subjectivity out of the questions, all 50 would have to be in the true or false and multiple choice format.
The questions would include: economics, social issues, current events, Canadian governance, and, just for good measure, a few Canadian history questions as well. And these would not be difficult questions, but things we should all know.
Now, using 70% as a passing mark on the questionaire (50% is medicocre), I would bet that 80% of Conservative voters (perhaps even more) would pass the test while only 30-40% (I’m being generous) of Liberal voters would pass such a test.
It would be a great test to do because it would force the Liberal Party, and their supporters inm the MSM (journalists, reporters, pundits et al.) to explain exactly why those who say they’ll vote Liberal did so poorly on the test compared to those who vote Conservative.
The Liberal Party has a vested interest in the voting public knowing as little about the issues as possible.

  10. Oh, one last point…
I was watching the Global National this past spring and they featured one Toronto voter who was asked about the Gomery Inquiry and his thoughts and feelings on it.
And this individual was, from what I would guess, in his mid-late 30s and in Toronto, and as such exposed to a lot of media.
His reply was: “The Gomery inquiry? What’s that? Is that the one probing tainted meat?” (He was confused with another inquiry, this one launched by the provincial government to probe tainted meat at a plant in Alymer, Ontario.
Now, what are the chances that this guy will be voting for the Conservatives on Jan. 23? Nil, in my opinion.
I recognize he’s only one individual but I think he is symptomatic of the problem with the electorate, and why the Libeals continue to do so will in this province.

  11. It’s no wonder the public is so uneducated regarding the issues — the press is either uneducated,or are intentionally misleading in their reporting. How many times have I heard talk show hosts wonder as to why would Harper bring up SSM on the very first day of the campaign!!! The press should know,(and probably know very well) Harper didn’t bring up the subject, THE PRESS DID. He simply answered their questions.

  12. It would appear the progressive bloggers site has taken a nose dive into 404 land 😉 Oh well, it’ll probably be back up after the election!

  13. Just came back from Progressive??? Buggers and now have the need to disinfect my keyboard & mouse. Although numbers have changed in their poll a bit, there are still 41.6% who either have no scruples or are not too sure.
I have no doubt that SDA readers probably skewed their poll. Maybe we should call up the Dippers and Greens etc to post the link on their sites so the poll could better reflect Canadians and not just Liberals.
    That’s my $.02usd worth.

  14. “Progressive.”
    Heh
Why can’t socialists admit that they’re socialists? The only “progression” that they’re interested in is a progression closer to the failed policies of communism. Sounds like a regression to me.

  15. It is true. They call themselves PROGRESSIVE but what they wanting is COMMUNIST STATE. they should know that this will bring evil to this great country. whre I from (original) we would call this TREASON or betrayal of the country which could cause them to be taken to prison.
I am voting CONSERVATIVE not only because the Liberals are crooks and liars, but because they no longer listen to God. Homosexual marriage. In my old country we would take to PRISON such peopel. What is next, my wife say to me, a man and a pig? A woman marry a coackroach??? such a union cannot bear children.
i know that MR. STEPHEN HARPER will change these things. he listens to GOD. Although I am not a christian there is but one GOD (and Mohammed is his prophet). MR. STEPHEN HARPER will know what to do with COMMUNIST in this country. I pray daily that he will have victory soon so that blessings may once again prosper.
    Yours Faithfully,
    Abdul Jabbar.

  16. Which only goes to show, you don’t need to agree with a party’s platform to vote for it 😉

  17. Kate,
You know you’ve made it when your posts causes another blog to go down under the traffic. I doubt the site had much capacity but congrats nonetheless.
An “Instalanche” is so 2005, move over Glenn, the SDAlanche’s time has come.

  18. Abdul,if that’s your name, where did you learn to “write” English? You read like a Librano or Jacko team member, pretending to to be Harper supporter. Suggestion, try harder! Phoney’s are easy to spot and I suggest that you take a seat as the “Airplane ” has definetly left the ground without you! Maybe you can catch the sequel. “Abdul Jabbar with a crowbar”

  19. Dear Greg,
I am sorry I have offended you. But people say that my English is good, perhaps when I write it isn’t the best however. I am trying my hardest but sometimes I get “carried away”.
    Yours Faithfully,
    Abdul Jabbar.

  20. Greg…You’re way out of line in your comment towards Mr. Abdul Jabbar. Not everybody has the same command of the english language that you do. It does not diminsh what they have to say.
Mr. Jabbar has said what other neo-conservatives think all the time.

  21. Free…I don’t mind being called a SCUMBAG!!!, it lets me know I’m on the right track. The guilty whine the loudest.
You have to know…I have no boss and nobody tells me what to say. I come up with this stuff all by myself. I am a free thinker with free will and no affiliation, never belonged to a political party.
I wouldn’t belong to club that would have me as a member (Groucho Marx).

  22. I don’t mind being called a SCUMBAG!!!, it lets me know I’m on the right track. The guilty whine the loudest.
Is that why the liberano’s are making so much noise?

  23. Yes, scumbag isn’t appropriate. Scott Reid or John Duffy perhaps… Duffy’s piece in today’s NP is cause for concern. The guy’s got excessive bile – damaged liver spewing all that horrible stuff that makes one look/sound permanently angry. That’s why I think Ron could be either Reid or Duffy.
