The story we’ve been following at Angry In The Great White North over Liberal MP David Smith and Abotech has finally broken into print.
And not just in print, but in a local paper. The West Quebec Post, with a circulation of about 5000, distributes in David Smith’s riding. Don’t forget also that Pontiac is just across the river from Ottawa.
So go read the article, and consider what impact it might be having on voters in Pontiac. It’ll also be interesting to see if the story gets picked up by another paper, what with an election call days away driving interest. I am personally gratified that Julie Murray was able to independently verify many of the facts I had uncovered, and that I am credited (see the end of the article) for my work on this.

Angry you have done a remarkable job. You don’t have a $1 billion gubmnt subsidy, you don’t even have the resources of a smallish newspaper or so I’m guessing, nevertheless many a pro with much more has done far less and been rewarded far more richly.

Earlier in the week, CTV Newsnet commented that they were to run a segment on David Smith and Abotech, but mysteriously it was never run, probably shoved to the back of the file cabinet. Then it’s announced that a Mr. Bird, lobbyist for Bell Globe Media, had been named campaign chair for the LPC in Ontario.
Coincidence?

Kudos to Angry. He’s done a fantastic job. It’s kind of sad though that it’s only being picked up by a local paper – this is definitely worthy of accross the board coverage.
This isn’t just political bias at work though. The last thing the mainstream wants is for the public to see a blogger doing a far better job at journalism than them.
