Angry White Males – small dead animals

I’ve noticed that people on the left have an amusing habit
of dismissing those to sitting to their right on the political landscape
as Angry White Males. It doesn’t matter if the person the label is
being hung on is actually male, or even white, this is the sign you’re
expected to carry around as punishment for not being progressive
enough.

Okay, fine.

Please allow me to introduce Canada’s own Angry
White Males. They’re comic strip characters living in a fictional
rural area somewhere in Central Alberta, although you’ll notice that they
aren’t all white males. While the characters and the location are fictional,
the content isn’t. A lot of the scripts were pulled from overheard
conversations in coffee shops and grocery stores where I live (East
Central Alberta, but that’s probably a co-incidence). I’ve got no shortage
of material out here, that’s for sure.

AWM will be published twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays. I hope you
enjoy it.

umm… the left (and by therefore by your definition the majority of canada as a whole) sees the right as a party based on the angry white male. are you so floral with your language that you cant see the semantic link between ‘angry white male’ and ‘western alienation’?

Wow this is some strip…I know these guys! First time I saw Canadians I know portrayed in the Canadian media….but wait, I thought “angry white mailes” were stupid or infantile…like “the trailer park boys”…or rural folks were comicly rustic and politically/culturally inarticulate like “corner gas”…ohhhhh too much information… I’m so confused….Better grab the dog and the scatter gun and go kill some ducks to straighten my head out 😉
It is dangerous to allow the media to define us in a compartmentalized groups, but if it’s going to be done, AWM is a fairly accurate portrayal.

You must be getting a cached copy of the page from an upstream proxy server at your ISP. I deleted the placeholder file off the server around midnight last night and replaced it with new content.

Oh, I doubt that for two reasons. First, my sense of humour (which is warped) won’t go down well with their readers. Second, the comic is designed to be equally infuriating to people on both the left AND the right — it would turn off large chunks of their readership.
