Meaghan Walker Edward T. Coulter Champion Williams

I have resisted for some time writing about a certain obsessed “fan” of this site, primarily to deny her the attention she seeks. However, considering the influx of readers who were introduced to SDA via my interview last week with Peter Warren, and her “appearance” on his radio show by way of a somewhat libelous email that he read on-air, perhaps its time to bring new readers up to speed.
Who is Meaghan Walker-Williams? Good question. Though she writes and comments under a variety of “identities”, a google search on her real name will bring up this thread at the libertarian blog, No Treason. It’s lengthy, but the portrait of “MWW” is painted primarily in her own words. You can’t get better than that.
As you will glean from that discussion, Meaghan had been operating a site called “Blanked Out Times”, writing various diatribes and obvious libel under the psuedonym “Edward T. Bear”. When her identity was exposed she pulled the site, but not soon enough to avoid a solid whupping from the No-Treason folks.
Meaghan finally retreated to safer territory by, believe it or not – starting her own “No Treason” blog – devoted entirely to talking to and about No-Treason.com in a one woman rant spectacular.
She had had practice. For some months she had sought personal gratification in writing under a variety of names (including mine) at this site dedicated to SDA. Not satisfied with simply making posts, she also writes in her own comments section, agreeing with and congratulating herself.
One would think that commenting across the blogosphere into the wee hours of the morning, sending outraged emails to media and politicians, and running various “sockpuppet” blog sites is enough to keep one woman occupied, but no!
Meaghan Walker-Williams has now announced yet another– this one fixating on one of Canada’s best written and original blogs, Dust My Broom. Written by Darcey Jerrom, Shere Khan and Raskolnikov, they bring a mostly conservative-libertarian viewpoint to a variety of issues, including those relating to Indian and Metis culture and politics.
I should flesh this out a little. You see, Meaghan Walker-Williams is a self-declared Indian “activist”. But “activist” really doesn’t do her justice. You see, Meaghan determines on behalf of “her” people – nay, on behalf of North Americans of all races and recombinations – who is permitted to discuss aboriginal topics, and what views they may express. She is none other than the annointed, the one true keeper of the MWW Official Stamp Of Indian Authenticity And Approved Thought.

No others need apply.
Which brings me, in a round about way, to the reason I decided to make this post. Last night, at her newly spawned “Dustmybroom2”, the following literary achievement appeared, albeit briefly ;

Dear Adrian/Raskolnikov/Kate’s Beard
Are you capable of making a single essay or comment that doesn’t have anything to do with Aboriginals and how much you despise your own people?
I’m just wondering.
Or are you just a One-Trick Pony for the Blogging Tories?
Seriously… why don’t you try it some time. Write a post, that doesn’t involve your contempt, rage and disgust at Aboriginal Peoples.
If you hate Indians so much… why do you spend so much time doing nothing but thinking about Indians, writing about indians, bashing indians?
For somebody who seems to so despise “identity politics”, you are postively enamoured with playing the “Right-Wing Blogging Injun” thing to the hilt.
Don’t you know it’s boring.
Or are you both still searching for identity Having decided to first discard your own heritage, and then piss and shit all over it as well, as often as you possibly can?
You do know that you are nothing but a “token” to these right-wingers…
That if you dared to challenge them on any subject, on any topic, they will drop you like a hot potatoe, and treat you, with exactly the same contempt that they are applauding you for your snipes and attacks at other indians.
You may have fooled yourself Raskolnikov, into believing that if you can just bash indians
enough, that you won’t be associated with the bad stereotypes of indians in the minds of your new found friends.
But no matter how much you scrub your skin, you will never get the smell of “Indian” off of it these people will never forget who you are… even if you have.

As I said earlier, her portrait is best painted in her own words.
So, the next time you read a comment by someone using the initials “MWW”, or “Ann Coulter of Canada” or “Drugcop” or “Edward T. Bear” or whatever new personality may yet await to claw its way to the surface – quoting me as saying that “Canada needs institutions to lock up the Indian activists” (or variations thereof), you’ll have a much better idea what sort of institution I’m referring to – and the type of Indian “activism” I’m talking about.

  1. You’ve certainly exercised more restraint on this issue that many of us would have been able to muster.
You are absolutely correct “her own words paint the most accurate portrait”.
Personally, I try to do what my mother always said I should. Just ignore them, don’t give them the attention they want, and eventually they will go away. I must admit, most times I see her initials now, I just skim right by.
Keep up the good work Kate.

  2. Unfortunately there are too many people like that out there. Ignoring them for the most part is the best course of action, unless they become completely obnoxious like this person obviously has.

  3. Here is WWW at blagh: >>>
“You dont stop you just elaborate into more invective and ad-hominem.
Really thats all you people have left isnt it?
Screaming LIBRANO$$$$$$$$$$ BRAULT ADSCAM ADSCAM GOMERY BRAULT LIBRANO$$$$$$$$ and then heaping on ad-hominem for anybody who points out what a joke you conservatives have become and continue to demonstrate yourselves to be.”
Where did “she” find that wonderful, sarcastic, configuration: Librano$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ?
Isn’t there a law against plagiarism?

  4. ya but . . she is a VICTIM, of something or other so she has the right, in fact the obligation to be a moron.
Maybe should ask the Salish elders about the Coastal tribes history in the slave trade that prospered on the coast for centuries.
That story is kept off the radar. Doesn’t support the victim schtick.

  5. I agree with Scott. There are way too many out there of this ilk. Unfortunately they make the most noise and as such draw the most attention leaving the unknowing to think they are “experts”.

  6. Jeezus, that’s one scary bitch….
You know, if she said those things about you on camera or in the paper, you could take her to court but on the internet????
BTW, I didn’t get the invite to the orgy {insert grin here}.
Keep up the good work. You are one of the better bloggers out there. Your writing is clear and succinct, with a perceptive view that is honestly refreshing. Keep it up Kate.

  7. She needs rest and medication. It’s impossible to deal with someone so invested their own rule set. Before the internet you could just skip her letters to the editor but now they break in and have no sense of any social responsibility.

  8. Glad to say I’m not familiar with MWW, but I do see from the excerpt you provide that she shares one trait with yesteryear’s conservative, Dan Quayle. Remarkable blog, Kate. My daily bread.

  9. Thanks for the info.
I think I honestly can say
you have told me much more about MWW
    than I want to know.

  10. Holy Sh@#. I just waded through the thread at No Treason. Wow. Unbelievable what goes on out there in the netherworlds. If you’ve got time, it certainly is an eye-opener. As Kate says – “in her own words”.

    Don’t get stuck on stupid
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin held a press conference a little bit ago, and started losing control to a media pool assembled that was showing signs of panic, due to the previous incompetence in the region by the local and state government. Lt. Gen. Russel Honore stepped in and literally took over. Here’s what he had to say:
Honore: And Mr. Mayor, let’s go back, because I can see right now, we’re setting this up as he said, he said, we said. All right? We are not going to go, by order of the mayor and the governor, and open the convention center for people to come in. There are buses there. Is that clear to you? Buses parked. There are 4,000 troops there. People come, they get on a bus, they get on a truck, they move on. Is that clear? Is that clear to the public?
Female reporter: Where do they move on…
    Honore: That’s not your business.
    ….
Honore: You are stuck on stupid. I’m not going to answer that question. We are going to deal with Rita. This is public information that people are depending on the government to put out. This is the way we’ve got to do it. So please. I apologize to you, but let’s talk about the future. Rita is happening. And right now, we need to get good, clean information out to the people that they can use. And we can have a conversation on the side about the past, in a couple of months.>>>
I think the General just started a movement, and he may not even realize it. Every time a reporter, in any situation, starts spinning, or completely misses the point, they need to be peppered with, “Don’t get stuck on stupid.” >>> more

  12. So if you disagree with the standard boilerplate spewed by the Indo-babblers about racism, victimization, exploitation and “cultural genocide”, you are automatically a complete nutbar worthy of libelous invective and scorn. That sounds about right. The professional victims, so busy wallowing in their own self-pity, just can’t stand the fact that there is one form of media that has not been monopolized by their left wing apologist allies. I’m talking about blogs of course. (You could also throw in talk radio, but we’re talking about the Internet here.)
I expect to hear more of this type of thing in the near future. The conservative voice has definitely gotten the leg up in the blogosphere. The quality and quantity of conservative/libertarian blogs is so so much higher than that of the pitiful left/liberal blogs that there really is no comparison. The only thing the whining “progressive thinkers” can do now is shreik at the top of their lungs.
Unfortunately for them, outraged hysterics don’t work so well on the Internet. This must be particularly galling for the progressive/marxist crowd considering that it was they who first harnessed the power of the Internet to spread their antiglobalization gospel. Remember the so-called Battle of Seattle? That was organized through chatrooms and message boards. Too bad for them they were still pissing around in those chatrooms when blogging took off. They missed the boat, and now they’re crying foul. Looks good on them.

  13. You have a very good site Kate. I look forward to your posts and enjoy the back and forth in the comments. I could stick with just “liberal” blogs but I wouldn’t learn as much about my country.
It’s so Canadian that I found SDA while searching goalie helmet painting.

  14. The moustache is a nice touch, though you’d think someone with such talent could airbrush away those hanging jowls that appear in all her photos.
I think she wants you in the worst way.

  15. I think that MWW and Ward Churchill are one and the same. She looks scarier than Carolyn Parrish! My sympathies, Kate. Seems that MWW has a fatal attraction.

  16. Yup. I read some of that comment string you link to Kate. She is absolutely nuts. Some people say I waste too much time posting on blogs. They’re probably right. But when I start posting 1/10 as much as MWW, then I’ll have a problem. Like obsessive-compulsive disorder. That woman needs help. Pity her poor children.

  17. “I ain’t no physicist but I know what’s matter.”
    Popeye The Sailor Man
No really that’s flat out wacked!

  18. MWW is a poor, unfortunate soul who could use a little psychiatric help. One never knows when she’s telling the truth, which is rarely, if ever.
As Kate’s planning to take a much-deserved little trip and might not be able to get us all going as normally, I wish to invite all to answer the following question re. the upcoming federal general election. Here’s the location for your input:
    http://thecanadiansentinel.blogspot.com/2005/09/main-theme-of-next-election.html

  19. I wonder if MWW could PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt if she’s an “aboriginal”. Why, I, too, am native-born, yet I don’t demand cash transfers from others who take the initiative in their own lives and take care of themselves, regardless of sex, age, race, national or ethnic origin, or whatever else…
She looks as white as a ghost, for heaven’s sake.
How the hell is ancestry of any bearing on anyone’s ability to make a living? It’s ridiculous. We’re supposed to be equal. Too bad MWW believes that some claimed/believed ancestral “status” makes one any more “special” or “deserving” or “owed something by all others who are not like her”. As a socialist, she’s supposed to subscribe to the concept of a classless society, after all.
People like her will naturally label me as “igonrant” or worse… rather than intelligently, civilly debate the merits of my and their respective positions.
I roll my eyes and groan at such people.

  20. “Don’t get stuck on stupid”…..the new, “we need more cowbell”
All unrelated to the topic of this comment thread….or is it????? ;->

  21. Well, I am not sure what to make of it, all I know is that I check out Kate’s BLOG everyday for a sane perspective on things. It helps me get through the day!
    Thanks Kate!

  22. Hegelian Dialectic

    How to make MWW disappear…
…More often than not, it makes her go away. If she does hang around, she turns to childish insults and asking where an individual lives so her husband and brothers can stop by for a “coffee” (yes MWW I still have tha…

  23. Wow. To paraphrase the wisdom of Owen Wilson: “She may not know Karate, but she does know Ca-RAAAA-zy, and she’s not afraid to use it.”

  24. “…quoting me as saying that “Canada needs institutions to lock up the Indian activists” (or variations thereof)”
She tends to quote you as “Canada needs instutitions to lock up the Indians”. That’s her fave.

  25. Kate: anyone who has spent any time in the internet info-wars KNOWS the first instinct of then moonbat activist is to misrepresent themselves and their agenda ( in this case there seems to be no agenda other than personal demons being exorcised in public)…….however things took a turn when she escallated he slander campaign of you to nation wide public domain via radio…libel is now a reality. I know you probably have too much class to put a legal stake in this web vampire but it may put some fecial fluids in the ample seat of her undergarments waiting for the hammer to fall.
I always say a web psycho is at their schizophrenic best when they’re scared…the results of impending personal litigation may give the blog reading public a bit of a chuckle watching this rotund kvetch melt down in a venomous posting cataclysm. Following her trail of vengeful guano is entertaining to say the least.

  26. BTW Kate> I took the liberty of sending a link to this post to Warren so he has some balance to report this week end as a follow up to the sacred cow’s slander.
As an aside: I googled MWW’s native activism and it reads like the psycho-scape of full blown delusional schizophrenia. Does anyone know what tribe or band MWW has laid heretical claim to? Anyone catch what her native name is? Do the Cree or Algonquin peoples use hyphenated anglo surnames? You think a hunter-gatherer lifestyle can satisfy her appetite?
Thanks for the tip Kate I’ll be watching this one for comic relief 😉

  27. Canadian Sentinel brings up a good point: If someone appears whiter than the average white person — “white as a ghost” — and would never, in a million years of examination by a million people, be identified as native, can that person legitimately make a career out of playing the “native victim” card?
    You betcha!
And Raskolnikov has no right to comment on native issues, because his opinions are not those of Meaghan Walker Williams?
    Wow.

  28. Redux, I’m not certain MWW would necessarily fear being on the losing end of a suit, even though her losing would become a reality if proceedings were initiated. I say this because MWW apparently somehow believes, delusionally, of course, that she’s in the right. After all, she’s eff’n nuts, don’t you think?
Of course MWW’s guilty of libel, and it’s worsening. Don’t, however, count on the Liberal justice system to automatically put a stop to it… professional courtesy among leftists, you know.

  29. I see the dittoheads are out in force.
“Of course MWW’s guilty of libel, and it’s worsening.”
What libel? The first time I (who, despite paranoid suspicions, am nobody’s sock-puppet) posted comments on aboriginal issues attributed to Kate, she waxed indignant and then essentially conceded that she had said what I said she said, over on Angry’s site. Her point is context, of course, but the words quoted by MWW are Kate’s, right enough:
“We need institutions to lock up the Indian activists and apologists, so that there’s an outside chance that the concept of ‘personal responsibility’ will take hold in First Nations communities.”
I think this is somewhat over the top, to put it mildly. But flame away, by all means.

  30. Meaghan is a very strange person.
When I was a kid I thought I had the capacity to understand everybody. I’ve come to realize that that’s not true at all and I have a heck of a time trying to figure out what makes a lot of people tick. Meaghan is obviously a slave to some kind of psychological needs that reflect in a drive to get into these impossible entanglements on the internet.
When she first appeared over on the Shotgun, I was inclined to give her the benefit of a doubt. Besides, I was pretty new to computers and posting on Canadian sites and was pretty green myself.
Something Kate didn’t mention is that when Meaghan started on the Shotgun, she was a little bit more restrained. But as time went on I guess she became comfortable with the idea of going on absolutely unbelievably long rants.
She didn’t start off with Kate. She went through a number of people that she would single out for attack. She would suddently seemingly select a person and then relentlessly pursue them often with one of her favorite techniques — making mountains out of molehills. If I remember correctly Kathy Shaidle was one of the people she decided to make life miserable for.
Finally, she got around (or worked her way up, as the case may be) to Kate. The vitriol she flung at Kate and the charges she made were absolutely preposterous and she went on and on about them at a length that is simply unbelievable unless you want to search through the archives over there and look at them. The charges were really insane, and before it was over, she was threatening to sue people up one side and down the other, to file charges with different law enforcement agencies, etc. It was really incredible.
Later, Norman Spector came on board and Canadians were prepared to respect him. (As a Texan, of course I didn’t know who he was.) Norman Spector pulled a Meaghan and much to everyone’s surprise raged on in an absolutely insane way, attacking anything that moved in an absolutely maniacal fashion.
Then, like something out of a surreal movie, somehow behind the scenes Meaghan and Norman made some kind of compact, and some of us started getting emails from Meaghan with accusatory denunciations and rationalizations with veiled threats as Meaghan and Norman tried to consolidate power and dominate the posters on the Shotgun.
I’m sorry it’s taking so long to talk about this. Anyway this was all crazy. I mean, if this were for the domination of shareholders in a corporation where millions of dollars were at stake or something of that sort, one could see reason behind it. But all this insane effort with backstabbing, dirty politics, push polling, trying to round up and convert supporters entirely through subterfuge, was just insane when you consider that all this was about was just people posting their opinions on the Shotgun.
Well, to make a long story short, this whole deal finally ended when posters pressed the Shotgun to ban Norman (they had already banned Meaghan). And that’s when Meaghan apparently decided to re-invent herself with a jillion sock puppets attacking Kate for what ulitmately was a fairly innocuous exchange in the heat of a long-running flame war. (90% of the flaming done by Meaghan).
Meaghan is kind of like one of those villains in a Batman movie, like the Penguin or the Joker.. some kind of maniacally obsessed character like that inspector with the Surete that Inspector Clouseau finally drove mad. And it’s too bad, because Meaghan is bright, articulate and obviously has a lot of energy, God help us.
I never really got any insight into her motives. One time when I did ask some general question about why she carried on as she did, she said something to the effect that when anyone attacked her (she was doing all the initial attacking), they get to have it their way. (Like a take on the old Burger King commercial.) I never figured out what that meant.

  31. Is MWW officially a “small dead animal”? It seems like the shrieking furry little critter finally got someone’s attention enough to get the crosshairs pointed her way.

  32. She kinda reminds me of a woman who haunts anthropomorphic art (“Furry”) circles who is known as one Kimberleigh Ann Kiester, a/k/a “Kimmagh” to her loyal fans. She has engaged in a lot of similar behavior– frequent identity changes, stalking better people than she is, slavish imitation followed by vindictive turnarounds, pathological lying, deranged rants, and all with the added spice of semi-literate spelling. On top of that, she breeds genetically defective Huskies. So Meghan is obviously the political version of Kimmagh. The parallels are freakin’ scary. Any possible relation?

  33. Kate,
Surely your Mother has told you to be wise when choosing when to fight and when to just walk away. This is one fight nobody will ever win.
It is bad enough that we must be party to your squabble within the blogospere. Now this pissing-contest is on radio via Peter Warren’s show. Who cares already! I researched both sides of this fight until nausea overcame me.
It is my opinion that both you and MWW are crackers and both of you need therapy. Kate, you are baiting MWW to be a traffic-whore in order to increase hits. MWW is baiting you to bring attention to herself.
The more protracted and nauseous this public display of vitriol and catfighting becomes, the less credibility both of you have. Kate, MWW has gone down for the count, and you are not far behind.
But, if you want to mud-wrestle in public, go for it. You both are fools and should be treated as such. As for readers, the strippers at your local bar (except for Saskatchewan where it’s forbidden) are probably far more entertaining!!
HMMMM: I was wondering why most of the commentors on this topic are male?
    Don’t all shoot at once!

  34. Kate,
As always, class defeats loud-mouthed oddities that ought to listen rather then speak. Poor MWW just has too much of herself on the brain. More listening and less talking, blogging, posting, heck even breathing, would do her and all of us a great deal of good.
Thanks for doing a small part to expose hacks and narcissists who tend to think less then they speak.
    Cheers!

  35. Hey, “Needlemeyer”, if you check you’ll find there has been virtually no response from me on this blog or elsewhere, when compared the the thousands of words written about me in the past 9 months by Williams and her alter-egos.
Some of that has included threats of physical violence.
I did not bring the issue to Peter Warren, she did. I was forced to sit on air and hear the same drivelling accusations levelled at me again – and to a national audience, no less.
I reserve the right to respond – and in this case, allow listeners and readers to read her words for themselves and draw their own conclusions. With her attack on Rasky, the time was right.
I’m frankly tired – as are many others who have been targeted by this crank – of the ongoing libel, and as I believe her claims of newly married-into wealth are as imagined (and wildly varying in detail) as the rest of her claims, suing the idiot is probably a waste of uncollectable judgement time.

  36. “HMMMM: I was wondering why most of the commentors on this topic are male?”
Apparently Needlemeyer would feel more comfortable in a less heterosexual environment.

  37. Needledick er meyer, look around you’ll see mostly men posting everywhere on every topic. Kate has been commendably calm through this womans’ rants, some of the c-c-crap MWW has spouted has been horrible, even scary. Kate is right to defend herself and her good name. Are you saying you wouldn’t in her position?

  38. Kate:
I agree with you and I apologize if my earlier post was harsh. However, even mention of MWW’s name feeds the beast. You have a successful blog and are gaining national radio attention. Not completely distancing yourself from MWW could harm your credibility. Why take that chance just to refute a blogoshere stalker?
Your readers know you and they know MWW. And if they don’t, they will quickly discern the picture. You do not need to justify yourself. MWW is insanely jealous of your success. You have achieved what she probably will not have.
The only way to deal with stalkers is to ignore, ignore, and ignore! Your silence will drive her around the bend and hopefully she’ll spin into oblivion or target someone else.
Suing her would again feed the beast and open the door for her to countersue you. Your time and money is better spent on SDA.

  39. Aww c’mon, Everyone agrees this has gone far enough. Ras has an informed opinion and expresses that opinion as we all express ours.
It’s a freedom we have come to expect, except the Liberals are moving ominously towards…
Let’s not go there just now.
When someone says something to the effect of:
*No matter how hard you scrub your skin, the colour… blah blah bla*
That’s TILT in my book. I refuse to consider debate. [Not withstanding some resarch ability], with someone who stoops to that low level.
If comments vanished within minutes, it would simply be standards keeping. 73s TG

  40. Something “tilts” in my book, too, Tony. I know exactly what you mean. It’s just a drawing-up of hate, to smash things.

  41. Dawg sez:”What libel?”
Read the legal definition in CCC section 298.
The charges the Faux Native rights Manatee made on Warren fits the legal definition indisputably.
Coversely, the MWW Manatee’s charges against Kate are baseless in conventional legal terms..there was no provable damage to her or her reputation…Oh I forgot you Moonbats have sold out your civil liberty and legal right to accusatory onus, mens rea, concrete evidence of damage and diligent defense to Stalinist hate law tyranny…you can be arrested and convicted on hearsay, without evidence of damage and go to jail now if you simply hurt my feelings…and I don’t have to prove it, I just accuse you and turn it over to a quai-judicial “hate” tribunal…you have to prove you’re not guilty of “hating” me…so watch what you say Dawg… big brother is listening 😉
