The Khadr family is in the news again. Niiice. Can we at least turf these losers off the welfare rolls, or is that asking too much?
Abdurahman has publicly declared them to be al Qaeda members. His sister has said they all wished for martyrdom. Family members have spoken scornfully of Canadian society, as they receive medical care and welfare payments that keep them in a pleasant apartment in Toronto.
“They’ve dubbed us the First Canadian Terrorist Family,” Omar’s sister Zaynab, 25, said recently in an interview. “I don’t want to be in a place where I’m not wanted. Give me my passport and I will leave.” The Canadian government has impounded their travel documents, pending resolution of their case.
As you’re reading this you can bet that someone has been turned away from a battered women’s shelter or housing program in Toronto today because of a lack of resources. Resources that are instead being spent keeping freakin’ terrorists in a cushy apartment.
I miss the days of mob rule. I really do.

Send the whole family to gitmo. (And I want to see their legal bills- paid by Canadian taxpayers.)
Well, what would you expect??! After all, the Khadrs’ have a special place in PM Paul Martin’s heart. He even came to bat for them personally, stating that ‘they were entitled to their opinions’.
Typical liberal, open-minded thinking. So open-minded in fact, that their brains have long ago leaked out!
How much protection money do you think Chretien has paid AlQuaida ? Keeping the fatherless Khader kids in TO saves the CN tower from skewering the Blue Jays on open roof night!
Deport Grewal but not the Khadrs? Only in Canada.
Personally, Sean, I’d rather the Khadrs were sustained by the government than by whatever terrorist slime they’d have to turn to if we summarily cut off their welfare… or if we took away their citizenship. Seriously, have you “deport the Khadrs” people thought this through? The only other claim to citizenship the Khadrs have (that I’m aware of) is in Egypt. Or I suppose some other country could offer them asylum Syria, say, or Iran. Do you want the Khadrs in Egypt, Syria or Iran? I sure as all hell don’t. How would you feel if we deported them and they wound up among the terrorists in Iraq? For better or for worse, these cretins are our responsibility, and there is no honour in shirking it.
You go look after them then Chris.
Yes. Maybe Chris has a spare room for them???
Is lovely Zaynab back in Canada? The last I heard, she was refusing to return from Pakistan because she was afraid the Canadian government would refuse her and the family passports preventing them from travelling to jihadi-land.
No can do no ramps in my apartment, and I’m not sure why it should be my responsibility anyway. It’s all very well to wish they weren’t Canadian, John and Bruce, but they are Canadian. What can be done with these people that will satisfy your desire to see them suffer and not make the rest of the world less safe?
Say Chris. So your tactics would be to appease and mollycoddle every piece of intimidating, threatening, ungrateful slime who happen to gain entry to our country???!
So it would be OK with you if Canada just opens it’s doors wide open to people like the Khadrs as a means of protecting the citizens of Canada????!
Oh, waaait a minute. Canada under the thieverals, has alresdy done all that.
Cheeezze. Sorry Chris. At first I didn’t recognize you : one of the main policy architects for the fiberal party of Canada. Sorry about that old chap.
What can be done with people like them???
How about
a) charging them with treason
b) deporting their ungrateful @sses back to one of the criminal terrorist enclaves that spawned them.
Fact: A Canadian who sexually abuses a child in another country can be prosecuted in Canada under our ‘sex tourism’ laws. Laws that have been tested and have already garnered their first conviction.
So why can’t we create the same sort of law to deal with terrorists? If you commit an act of terrorism anywhere in the world and are stupid enough to confirm it to the media as the Khadrs have, you go to jail. And you don’t EVER get out again.
“Seriously, have you “deport the Khadrs” people thought this through?”
Yes. Yes indeedy I have. I’m not in favour of deporting them. I’m in favour of giving them EXACTLY the same treatment that one gives an incurably rabid dog.
No appeasement for terrorists. Not now. Not ever.
The Khadrs have publicly admitted to supporting terrorism. They have done so numerous times. This was Canada’s test, and we failed.
don’t deport them.
give them 1000 acres of property. on ellesmere island. fly them up in their current clothes and rop them off there, w/o supplies.
no muss, no fuss, no problem.
alternatively, fly them up in a C-130 over the labrador cost, and give them a nice hard shove.
we’re at war, but no one wants to deal with the enemy appropriately. if they want martyrdom, give it to them.
Sure, we could just summarily execute them. Or we could go back in time and create a law under which we could prosecute them and throw them in jail forever. (I certainly support prosecuting them under any applicable statute, and I never understood why that child abuse investigation didn’t get off the ground.)
But these are fantasy-world solutions. You want them dead? Sorry, you can’t have it. My apologies for living in the real world.
What do you expect? Martin’s attitude is to wait for them to carry out a terrorist attack before doing anything. As long as the Khadr family supports the Libranos, I doubt they’re going anywhere which just makes me want to vomit.
“You want them dead? Sorry, you can’t have it. My apologies for living in the real world.”
In the real world any determined individual can pretty much kill whoever they want to at any time. A simple cost/benefit analysis prevents most people from doing that as killing is usually accompanied by unpleasant consequences.
My personal cost/benefit analysis tells me that I won’t be pointing a weapon at the Khadr family any time soon (I have a family to support, after all). Now if I didn’t have a family and I had a terminal brain tumour that was going to kill me in a few months, the outcome of my cost/benefit analysis as per the Khadr family would likely be quite different.
Seriously. If people can take it upon themselves to shoot abortion doctors, what’s stopping them from icing a few terrorist extremists (and their supporters) next?
We could always pack them up and send them a little further up the river. Being that we are already paying for these joints, may I suggest 24 Sussex Dr. or Rideau Hall. They could eat for free, get to ride around in an armored limo and have the Lieberal goon squad wait on them hand and foot.
I don’t want them living up here in Ottawa.
Why couldn’t THESE guys get falsly deported to syria..
People: Do you have any of the facts in this case or all you all just emotionally blabbing. These people should be long made an example of what isn’t a “Canadian”. Their father Amhed Said, is notoriously, blatantly connected to Al Quaeda. For years he worked with/ran a “humanitarian” front in Afghanistan, getting wads of financing from CIDA and therefore you and me, to build his questionable “Humanitarian” initiatives (terrorist training slip in there anywhere?)
He’s plucked out of Pakistani prison in the mid 90s by our ethical Rock of Gibraltar, Jean Chretien. Then later dies in a twelve hour gun battle with the Pakistani army in which his 14 year old son gets wounded and paralysed. Are many of our international humanitarian workers armed enough to engage in a 12 hour gun battle with the Pakistani army? (Is the Canadian army armed well enough to engage is a 12 hour gun battle with the Pakistani army?)
Meanwhile, back on the homefront, Afghanistan that is, hiss two other boys have gone through an Al Queda training camp…what else are you gonna do with your summers, I mean geez guys, it’s not all guns…sometimes they stay up late at night and tell scary stories…
As a result, one brother, Omar, to this day, remains locked up in Guantanamo. The other, Abdurahman, who also found himself in the G-lock up, got out, and EVENTUALLY made his way back home?, well Canada that is and made his did his CBC debut, revealing his secret FBI and CIA work (blockbuster investigative skills by the CBC by the way…they must have spent a whole day researching). Abdurahman admits to the families extensive connection with Al Quaeda. Canada says: “Neato”
In the same “investigative” interview, his mother and sister blabble on behind their birkas about America being the “enemy”, Canada being that moralless place where “same sex marriage” and other godless things are. (Perhaps Canada should change it’s tact, and hold them up on Hate crimes, then certainly the Liberals would have a case worthy of their agenda).
Next thing you know, Mom, daughter and wounded son are at the airport waiving Canadian passports saying we are home now, how fast can the boy start taking advantage of the medicare system? What’s that? Right away. Oh fabulous.
And those passports. No, those aren’t the originals silly, they’re emergency passports that the government expedited issue of, because the family lost theirs. Stranger yet, this wasn’t the first time they’ve had them replaced.
Now of course, as the article that started this mentions, the daughter doesn’t feel wanted in Canada…hmm, could be some of that good karma you’re giving off there sweety.
And of course ladies and gents, for all your arguments about keeping them or not…their own MP in Scarborough, John Cannis, a Liberal even, first thing he did when they arrived was go public saying we should be trying them on grounds in the “Terrorist Act”. Yes ladies and gents we do have anti-terrorism laws. CSIS has them marked and the minister of foreign affairs is holding their “emergency” passports. Thank God at least for this.
Canadian. These people spit in the face of honest, hard working immigrants who have slugged their way through life, doing the right thing, and come to Canada to build a better life, live peacefully, and contribute to the peace and wealth of our nation, whatever their race, creed etc. This family is a mockery, and should have long been made an example of what Canada doesn’t tolerate.
Canada so high and mighty about the war on terrorism while it goes onward allowing terrorist organizers, sympathizers, fundraisers and other schemes just like Khadr family, to finance the very terrorist organizations that it takes the moral high ground on, in condemning in “our way”, because Canada is so clean. Will Canada have a terrorist attack on it’s soil? Why would terrorist bite the hand that feeds them? So, ya of course, keep the Khadrs here, because that way we know we’re safe from our terrorist FRIENDS.
Tsk.Tsk.
You mean you guys will be disappointed when Bill Graham nominates them for the order of canada for promoting multi-cultural understanding.
Adrienne would go along with it.
