Those who follow the blogosphere will remember that in late May, the Harper bashing website that Sinclair Stevens had originally registered under the Royal Commonwealth Society of Toronto was quickly amended to show Freedom International Association as owner after the information became public.
At the time, several commentors speculated that Mr. Stevens was a member of this Freedom International, a society dedicated to “resisting the legal enforcement of morality on a variety of fronts”. They espouse among other things, public nudity and legalization of sexual activity in public places.
Today I recieved an email response from Tony Pitman, whom I had contacted to ask about the Stevens website. He writes;
Thanks for your email. Yes, that would be a very odd affiliation! No, there’s no link between our two groups … fortunately! Just the coincidence of choosing the same name.
One can understand his relief!

I guess the question is – did Harper know that the tapes were doctored. This could really come back and bite him hard.
Not to nitpick, but you have used the word “definitely” to characterize “appear”.
I read somewhere (can’t remember) that the Conservatives have responded by stating the original tapes are in the hands of the RCMP.
The greater question is why does the edit matter when the bulk of the transcripts betray a well established pattern of bribery and admission that this was done with Brison and Stronach? These have never been denied by Dosanjh and Tiny doctor Tim.
Everyone is listening to a CD copy made 2 weeks ago. Ever successfully rip audio tape onto CD without any artifacts? The only foresnic of interest will be on the audio tapes in the hands of the RCMP.
Apparently the ‘experts’ are two CHUM radio engineers in Ottawa, who have expressly said that they are not forensic experts, but they heard two definite instances of ‘clicking’ on the tape and believed that could be the result of doctoring.
That Dosanjh is relying on this to exhonerate him shows how desperate he is. He is relying on the sound bite getting him through this.
Remember all, when we hear these tapes, we are hearing them through our own sound systems, from websites that are playing copies of the originals that have been uploaded. Distortions are not only possible, but probable.

It’s a seed folks… A seed of doubt… Very few people actually pay attention to the story beyond the headlines and this headline reads: “Liberals Innocent?”
It’s called grafitti journalism… It’s where a biased reporter or organization leaves a smear on the wall for all to see with the details nowhere in site… Expect to see more in the near future…
If you are going to the trouble of faking something, would you not want to make the evidence damning. I would expect a fake tape to have Ujjal Dosanjh saying “and I’ll give you a cabinet post, and a senate seat, and money, and a big car and a pony and a……”
If Grewal was using a newer digital recorder with powersaving and memorysaving features where the recording stops and starts after a few seconds of silence, it will sound like the recording is spliced.

The recording analyst said the clicks may merely be where a section was loaded to the website. He said he found nothing conclusive.

She received word back from someone from the Austrialian Organization that disavows any relationship to the bloc-harper website.

Unless the part that was edited out was Dosanhj saying something like this…

Sinclair Stevens is still huffing and puffing? The merger happened Sinclair, get over it rather than just acting like the Liberal tool you’ve become. Before making sites such as the one you have, it’d be wise to consider how many times the Liberals and the Bloc have voting together while holding hands and singing “kumbaya.”
Is cooperating with the Bloc supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing?
