Policing The Borders

The Auditor General wrote "A weak immigration service is putting Canada in danger because it isn't weeding out applicants presenting criminal, security, or health risks". Last year, a high-ranking Canadian diplomat based in China made a million in bribes from immigrants before bolting from his post. The Libranos refuse to add the Tamil Tigers to the list of terrorist organizations...

... but they have lots of enthusiasm for sending the Language Police to spy on their own border agents.

I must not have had enough coffee. I was almost surprised by the article.

Here is a post that I made a to the RCMP thread just before this story was posted: (This story should swing a few votes if we ever have an election.)

I have a friend in Quebec who doesn't bother stopping at the border any more. The customs officers just watch him go past. No RCMP because Quebec has the Suret du Quebec (provincial police). But they don't guard the border cause that's federal stuff so..... nobody guards the border in Quebec anymore. The Customs agents wanted to be given jurisdiction to deal with this but I think it was screamin Annie who refused their requests. No wonder our neighbours to the south are pissed off. But all's well in Ottawa. Yes sirree!

PS: I will tell my friend to make sure he waves in French as he drives past.

well our immigration policy has raised house prices to suicidal levels in toronto and vancouver, given us high unemployment usually 3 points above the USA. We have affirmative action so that when we have half a million people unemployed in ontario that anyone showing up can have a better shot at a job even with fewer qualifications. Per capita income has refused to budge up over 20 years.

Plus we have the Khadirs....

In 50 years when whites are a minority the majorities will remove affirmative action right?

Canada doesn't need immigration.

The reality of our 'immigration policy', is that anybody is welcome, ( and we don't care how you got here, or what kinda trouble you were in where you came from)- so long as you ain't Anglais.

As a former employee at Pearson International Airport, I know how to get into the 'secure area', (where the international newspapers and magazines are recycled- the New York Times Magazine is to die for). I am on my way to work, and I have a custom-made hunting knife in my knapsack, (taking it to work to fix it).
I am rooting through the bins for something to read, and the cleaning staff are coming in, (they don't know me, and they are giving me dirty looks). But I be thinking: if security gets called and they bag me, and I gotta blade in my knapsack, they aren't gonna care if I am "taking it to work to fix it", and I am gonna get in deep shit- I better split. I hit the ramp, and at the top of it, there is a couple of East Indian chicks, security badges, etc. and as I goes past, I stops and sez: Waddya you two ladies doing out here? They smiles and sez: "We are 'Security'", and I walks past them, (with a blade in my bag), and I replies: You keep up the good work! Haw!
Yeah, right- this is our governments answer to "heightened security": "new Canadians" at minimum wage. Haw!

woa...

drwright: we don't have affirmitive action in Ontario
high employment: not immigrants fault - federal and provincial governments for not utilizing our resources, both natural and human

Windsor border - heh...born and bred in Windsor. They are more American than Canadian, so their unions bitch and complain a little more, they forget they are part of Canada, customs is a federal agency and all federal employees have to greet in both official languages. big hairy deal...bonjour/hello what's the problem?

whites v. ? sounds like i'm reading Gary Shipper in Toronto Life way back when...

As for the Khadrs...how are they anyway? Are the local politicians visiting and bringing them cake and money? If they're smart [both the gov and the Khadrs], they'll work for the government to locate that cell in Montreal he thinks he found
