Hello CBC!

Right now, I have a CBC cameraman in my studio, doing an piece on blogging.

So, this is a demonstration.

I probably should have changed out of my work clothes. Actually, we were dressed rather alike, come to think of it.

Question (inspired by the comments): If you take a CBC cameraman hostage, does that make you a "militant"?

Just asking.

Kate: Be sure to wash your hands when done ;-)

Let us know when you'll be on the air.

AND MENTION MY BLOG!!!! (lol)

and how bloggers are active at mining the web for data (and the truth)

Shaking hands with the DEVIL

Ask him how's the weather in Cuba, how's ol' Fidel and best of wishes to him and his new husband, or whatever.....

Don't let him escape. He might breed!

can you believe CBC let this leak out . . . my god . calling for an election !!

He was a pretty cool guy, actually. I kind of felt guilty for not changing out of my work clothes though. Don't get excited. I sucked, big time.

It's hard to do an interview staring at a bright light and listening to a voice over the phone at a different location.

The CBC you say? Don't turn your back on him!

Kate, have you been following the almost live blogging of Operation Matador? check out Chester. Must plugged in to the mil bloggers.

All the coverage in MSM is about bombings in Bahgdad, missing the story on Matador completely, like the enemy they found in uniforms and with body armor. Why is that being missed?

fixed link to Chester

... was typing too fast...

Here's a sample from Chester:

11:18pm Fox had a report that said the US was denying two rumors going around Iraq. First, that two Blackhawk helos had been shot down in the battle at Q'aim, and second that over 40 Marines had been killed there by roadside bombs. Perhaps spreading these types of rumors is the way the terrorists hope to inflluence the Iraqi populace. See the below from the Word Unheard.

Bah, I live right behind the CBC headquarters in Winnipeg and they drive all the way out to a small town in Saskatchewan. If only I had your legs Kate.

Kate... do not, I repeat DO NOT, accept any little envelopes... no matter how stuffed they are.

I should be so lucky as to get stuffed envelopes.

Under-enveloped? Try this Kate.

By the way, I notice that the window behind the pleasant looking CBC gentleman is open. Does this mean that Saskatchewan is beginning to get that warm weather the CBC promised was coming?

Weather is beautiful today. I should be out cleaning up my yard.

Be a dear and give him a kick him in the nuts for me, would ya!

Noticed a johnny popper on your shelf behind the cameraman, disgusting,Im a massey guy myself,1937 pacemaker, with crank and hand clutch, armstrong steering is what I grew up on.

I have a couple of those little scale model John Deere tractors - they belonged to my Grandpa.

Heard of holding your enemys closer, but thats a little to close....

They trying to get on the good side now out of fear for there gov handouts?

I've seen people "talk to the hand" but a CBC camera man boggles the mind........ whilst a disembodied flunkie interviews you over the phone. You must have been too shocked to say anything about the arrogance of that totally lazy individual who couldn't find the time or effort to interview you properly.

Actually, I understand a little - the reporter was a 3 hour drive away. Look - cut them some slack - they interviewed me, and not some obscure lefty college blogger.

gwgm had the balls to post "that" before me did.

And now the Dominion Observatory Time Signal....

Anyone spot Stephen Harper's hidden agenda in the word Observa....? Don't tell the Cbeesee.

It seems that Elections BC now wants blogs that talk politics to register with them.

I hate to say I told you so, but BlogReg is on the way. I wonder how many bizzillions that will cost eh...? The thought police stike again!

Calgary's Olympic Plaza, September 11, 2002. I show up for what was billed as a "memorial". A CBC cameraman points a camera in my face while someone interviews me.

"Why are you here? What are you looking for?"

Totally unprepared, I mumble some useless answer that they don't use. Oops.

The "memorial" turns out to be absolutely useless, a "multicultural celebration of life" that includes an islamic denial of involvement in 9/11 and some nutjob ranting about how evil the US is in the first place.

Partway through this shameful display of Canadiana, a parade passes by, the Fire Department and Police are having their own memorial. My girlfriend and I leave the Plaza and follow that one to the REAL memorial, from people who actually cared.

Sorry, that's just what a CBC cameraman makes me think of.

So can we expect to see your "sleeping gopher" picture replaced soon by a "sleeping CBCer"?

Kate did you tell us what program the interview is slotted for??

Kate, if you're going to have the cameraman butchered, I'll buy a quarter section. (What are you guys all staring at? Unemployed bums like me have to be budget concious with grocery purchases.)

I don't know when it airs, and since most of you don't watch CBC anyway, you're going to miss it, which suits me fine.

And lay off my poor cameraman. He's not Mansbridge. He was really a nice guy and had never heard of blogs. And look what's going to happen now. He's going to think we're all a bunch of CBC hating right wing ... eh.. nevermind.

Now, apologize before I have to come down there and kick some ass.

I'm waiting.

You have work clothes, I thought all bloggers operated in their pajamas. You have ruined my image of you. (Not really).

oltx, the internet allows anyone to set up a blog anywhere in the world. If they try and control blogs, they will go elsewhere. Encryption, ananomizers, proxy servers etc. will allow the truth to be spread. Do not underestimate the power of this technology. The cost of trasactions are very small, the cost of enforcement too great for even our government to effectly shut down the blogosphere.

I apologize. From now on I will only eat CTV camera men.

Hostages eh? You're luck this isn't the west bank. The rest of the bloggers might consider you a "collaborator" :)

Jay, ROFLMAO, perfect timing.....

Sorry Kate

.....sneaks around corner.....nahnah...nahnah...nah.. you can't catch me.....

i know, I know.... shutup or I'll ban ya....

Kate, celebrity will not become you. A small thermonuclear device, launched by the attack wing of the Libranos, will KO the CBC stations' transmitters just as your segment is scheduled to air. They will be reduced to running test patterns of Paul Martin's Sri Lanka appearance.
Free Canada!

This is going to be edited into another Ann Coulter hatchet job.
You should have eaten him.
