About Kate
Why this blog?
Until this moment
I have been forced
to listen while media
and politicians alike
have told me
"what Canadians think".
In all that time they
never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio - "You don't speak for me."

This pisses me off why the hell do we need to have daycare paid for by the people anyways. Why not simply make the neccesary changes to the taxation structure so that family or extended family can be responsible for child care. Wouldn't that be far simpler cheaper and better for the children in the long run, these fools daily piss me off. Like the vulture in the poster, patience my ass, lets kill something.
D.
I think someone should make a picture of PMPM being a john and canada being a whore. We're so easily bought and paid for. Maybe Calvert being a whore might not offend everyone so much. I just get really angry when we allow ourselves to be bought like this.
I don't get the whole concept - what gives those people the idea that having kids should be responsibility free and - well, free?
Yeah, right - I decide to have a kid and other people should pay for it and take care of it. And while we're at it, I want free dog care, too. And just because I decided to have a car and a lawn, I really really think other people should be responsible for paying to have that car washed and that lawn mowed.
I'll demand government vacuuming and bathroom cleaning later.
The Soviet Union had free daycare, so that all workers could work.
While they were at it, it was yet another propagandization time, taking advantage of the fact that kids talk a lot.
"Anything odd happening at home? Anyone? Any of your parents unhappy with communism? If so, let us know... we'll make things better for you. Extra cookies!"
"Now... who knows the greatest system of government? Pavel? Yes, correct, socialism! If it wasn't for socialism, you'd be spending your days in the gutter looking for pennies. Instead, you are indoors learning glorious socialist principals, such as voting liberal and trading your country for free health care."
Bold prediction: One day, Dryden is going to snap out of his delirium and commit himself immediately to a mental institution. Or maybe a detox center. Are the Libranos keeping him permanently drugged or what?
Keith, he's just practicing for the Senate.
LOL Good one Bright!
Does this sound familiar?
I made the currently unpopular decision to raise my kids myself, and not turn them over to somebody else to fill their minds with who knows what.
I can't think of a better way to raise a good crop of attachment-disordered socialists than through state-funded welfare. What foolishness.
Jeez, Kate, your premier can be bought for a lousy $22 million. How much does he kick back to the Liberals?
Of course, living on the Left Coast, I expect to be next. Campbell might put up token resistance, but if Queen Carole sneaks in, we're doomed.
I think the CPC should be linking these massive programs to the sponsorship scandal, because they are very much related. With a child tax credit we are 100% sure that every cent goes to the family that needs it. With a massive government program, the only thing we can be sure of is there will be yet another massive pool of funds that we risk the ruling party treating as their own. Look where paternalism got us with the unity movement.
Code Tech has it down pat:
National Socialism.
The principles of the NDP/Lieberals : The state has control/management of every aspect of your existence, from before conception to after-death.
Utopia, aka hell on earth.
Down with National Socialism.
Long live freedom and democracy.
Why haven't any of these genius politicians thought to give us the billions in tax breaks instead so that one parent can stay home and raise their own kids? Kudos to you Bright!
I agree with Jay. I don't have kids, but I do have a dog. I expect subsidized puppy care!
the daycare "tax ripoff" could easily be done with tax credits to "private" entrepreuners but why bother to pretend that the proven nazi system is not the best--fuhrer Marxtin, Politburo address 052804, Ottawa, CSSR.
Dryden isn't interested in parents looking after their own kids so forget tax cuts, breaks or credits.
In a speech last November, he said,
"But still only about 20% of our kids under the age of six are in regulated care. And some would suggest even less than that. An increase of just 5% in 10 years."
"The debate about child care is over. There will be an early learning child care system in this country. It is not a matter of if. It is only a matter of when. We need to see it that way. Understand it that way. Approach it that way. Go on the offensive. Put the critic on the defensive. Get on with it and get at it."
They who know what's best have spoken.

Kathryn, that is downright frightening.
Should we mount a grassroots campaign to have Sussex Drive in Ottawa officially renamed Samesex Drive?
Kathryn - did you notice the reference to the OECD at that URL? The same OECD that provided the money-laundering expert to the UN Oil For Food whitewash? The same OECD overseen by one of Trudeau's former cabinet ministers, and past president of the Liberal Party of Canada?
BrightLeaf, the part I find tne most disturbing is Dryden's statement that ONLY 20% of little kids are in regulated care. It doesn't sound at all like parents are supposed to raising their kids, or making their own arrangements with family, friends or neighbours.
How long before all 18-month olds have to report to indoctrination centers?
That's just stage one - wait for stage two where you go to the hospital, have a baby and never even see it because it was taken to the government nursery. Say there's 499 babies there at the time and your's is #600, you'll be issued one 500th share. As they turn 18 (or 21), kids will be randomly distributed as "dividends".
Obviously I meant #500.
