Assiniboia,Sask;Congress Sask....of course my old stomping grounds...hauled many a load of wheat into Congress Sask Wheat Pool elevator.
Congress has gone downhill,gone is curling rink,co-op store,grocery store,post ofice,church,train station,elevator,skating rink .
Our Post Office Box #is 2,my brother still is using it. Airplane crash N.W. of congress a few miles,so is my brothers farm,should give him a call see what he knows.My Grandfather and his brothers homesteaded N.W. of congress,many left for greener pastures during war years and dirty thirties.Our family was one that stayed.....how did these people survive during these very difficult times. Govt help,nope....a very large garden is how we did it.

Doug, don't forget Tommy Douglas! He "pulled" us out. He alone "changed" the way Saskatchewan works! This is the man who nationalized the telcom in SK, and created SGI! Such accomplishments!

Okay, so he didn't take office until '44. The war effort driving the economy and all. My grandfolks still vote CCF, err NDP. Sigh. Trees and forests.
