CTV News has been running a promo this morning advertising a feature on blogs, to be run on Thursday.
Now, as none of the well-known Canadian bloggers I read have mentioned being contacted by CTV (please send me links if you know of any), and the blurb includied the grim voice of a pychologist warning about the dangers of "revealing ones opinions" or some such crap, combined with the abysmal quality overall of CTV news reporting... I'll predict the piece will lean towards a dismissive puff piece, heavy with "risks of" and light on factual integrity.
But I'll be in the US when it airs, so hopefully a few folks will tune in with fisking fingers at the ready. That includes the readers here - even if you don't have your own blog, consider sending me your impressions by email, and I"ll compile them in a followup post.
update - apparently this is a local news item. Doesn't sound like it's worth looking for outside Saskatchewan.

I believe Saskatoon blogger Grrrl Meets World will be featured in said feature.
Saskatchewan? No problem. I know Starchoice carries CTV feeds (and CBC and Global) from all over the country -- tons of channels to fill and since they can't show HBO... I'd be surprised if the same doesn't go for Rogers Digital and Bell Expressvu.
So go ahead and give all the information you can about the upcoming program. Chances are plenty of people will be able to watch it anywhere in the country.
I called CTV-SK this morning. The segment's going to be shown during the Thursday evening newscast.
I was initially contacted at the beginning of January (a friend of mine was interning at CTV at the time that Jennifer Jellicoe got the idea and the only blogger she knew -- that is my friend -- was me) and I gave her a few other blog addresses to check out. Apparently they wanted to find a professor at the UofS that studied the blogging phenomenon but that was the difficult part. The first batch of professors approached hadn't even heard of blogs. Kinda makes me wonder just how much the prof featured on the news segment has really studied this.
CNN's program "Inside Politics" with Judy Woodruff now has a daily segment called "Inside Blogs"...the MSM has no choice but to recognize "THE FORCE" ..
May "The Force" be with you in Canada!
It actually wasn't too bad. A little fluffy, but pretty well done for a local piece. They mentioned in passing that some people have lost their jobs because of things they posted on their blogs, but there really wasn't any fear mongering.
They talked to Becky of grrrlmeetsworld, and a couple of U of S profs ( a sociologist and an internet guy) all of whom were positive about blogging. They gave a shout out to Iranian bloggers. There were a few quick screen shots of A Small Victory, Josh Marshall's site and a couple of others.
Probably nothing new to anyone who reads this site, but overall not bad.
