  1. Has Linda ever been right, about anything? This dumb bitch lives in Canada’s highest per capita income town, and moans about income inequality and social injustice. It’s easy to spout gibberish like this when the affluent pay for your indulgences.

  2. Tar and feathering comes to mind….

This liberal skepticism as well as Kerry’s verbal assault drives me nuts. Why can’t these people just be happy that Iraq is finally free and standing up for themselves and enjoy the moment.

If they had to admit that bush was right, it would mean there self destruction…

  3. The only thing altered on the page is the preamble describing the author. The content of her column remains untouched….

  4. In that case, I’m impressed by how much typing she can get done with her arms strapped behind her back.

  5. Of course its about oil, what else could it be about, the world runs on money, power and sex. And Iraq sure as hell isn’t about sex.
I watched Micheal Moores 911, I wasn’t really impressed, but honestly there is a lot of truth to what he said. If there wasn’t he would have been sued would he not.
Michael was rather one sided and prejudiced, but so is the Bush camp, and its supporters, listening to some radio talk shows you would think they were a paid info-mercial for the Bush team. The truth I think lies somewhere in the middle.
Mostly I think Mr. Bush and his group is incompetent and manipulating. And it irks me to know end that someone like this is rather the norm in politics instead of the exception.

  6. The whole defense of Michael Moore and his films that “there’s a lot of truth in there”, is indicative of a certain level of naivette about propoganda techniques.
Make a false statement on it’s own, and most people will recognize it for what it is, others will be skeptical and a minority will accept it face value.
Place it in a paragraph containing 5 other known false statements, and nearly everyone will view it with considerable skepticism.
Place it in a paragraph containing 5 known truths, and it will become more believable by association.
That is the art of propoganda, and Michael Moore and his ilk have mastered it.

  7. “Of course its about oil”
McQuaig’s paranoid anti-American conspiracy theories are a farce.
The ONLY way “it’s about oil” is keeping the proceeds of oil out of the hands of dangerous psychopaths like Saddam and worse.

  8. Of course it was about oil, with Saddam getting billions in kickbacks to build palaces while his people starved, and the UN bureaucrats scamming billions for keeping their mouths shut regarding Saddam’s atrocities. The oil paid for that, the world’s largest scandal in history.
Now countries will pay, legitimately, for the oil and the revenues will go to the Iraqis instead of rape squads, people shredders, and gold plated toilets in Saddam’s many unused palaces.
Getting the oil flowing out of Iraq will also counter OPEC’s stranglehold on the world’s oil market, if even a little.
France, Russia, Saddam apologists and the UN are pissed because the oil is no longer their’s, but rather the Iraqis’, who can sell it to whoever they want.
I don’t think it’s ALL about oil, or even mostly about oil, but if people want to insist that it is, then fine, let’s look at the facts to see who was the most heavily invested in Iraq’s oil.

  9. France, Russia and the UN opposing the war – now THAT was all about the oil.
Any anybody who believes anything michael moore says really needsa to see one of the films debunking his. Or do a google for michael moore deceipts.

  10. “Mr. Bush and his group is incompetent”
Funny how people continue to say Bush is incompetent after he made gains in his majority, the Senate, house of Reps. and Republican Governors.
He replaced brutal dictatorships in Afghanistan and Iraq with budding democracies against the wishes of elitist EUroturds and turned the American economy around after a devastating blow on 9/11 within three years.
I wish our leaders were that incompetent.

  11. Propaganda masters: J. Goebbels, L. Trotsky, Mohammed, M. Moore. Not necessarily in that order.
Oh, yes… the late P. Berton.

  12. Of course it’s about oil. Rest assured, if the damned U.S. wasn’t hogging all that cheap foreign oil, other nations like North Korea, Syria, Egypt, Sudan, Cuba and Libya that would stand a decent chance at developing new drugs and medical treatments, providing the overwhelming bulk of immediate tsunami relief, endowing peerless institutions of higher learning, the graduates of which would be bettering mankind, maintaining a formidable military, equipped with the latest, most advanced technology to employ for the cause of world security. I hate those bastards!

  13. If Micahel Moore lied why wasn’t he sued.
Of course he put his own spin on everything and was rather one sided but where is the law suit.
The world is all about money, if it isn’t why doesn’t some one give a rats ass about what goes on in Africa. Because there only a bunch of poor black people and all they have is aids and malaria and bad water,
about naivette and false statements the same can be said about the Bush team, or is some one going to tell me they never made a false statement or put a spin on anything.
Of course Bush and his team are incompetent. You could write a book about how we were mislead bribe and draged into this war, and then how it was mishandled.
Maybe this war was inevitable, maybe it will turn out to be a good thing,
But I won’t believe for a minute if Iraq was situated in Africa and Saddam was black we would be having this discussion. And if you believe we would, I have some land I want to sell you.

  14. Geez, Michael, no need to be such a racist.
Speaking of race, I noticed that although you bring up Africa, I doubt you mean to include Zimbabwe, where the whites are being killed and driven fron their land by the blacks.
Anyways, the UN just declared that there is no genocide taking place in Sudan, so back off on the “other places deserved to be bombed first” routine.
I didn’t realize that there have been worldwide conclusions about which country is at the top of the list to be rescued by the USA. And, of course, it’s only the USA which is criticized for not helping those in need.
France fired machine guns on civilians in Africa only months ago. Russia tries to interfere with Ukrain’s election. Venezuela has turned into a dictatorship. Dutch politicians are hiding for their lives from Muslim extremists. Kosovo is a quagmire wrapped around a quagmire. Cuba, China, Arab shithole theocracies, North Korea, etc. etc. blah, blah, blah. None of this matters because GWB went into Iraq instead of Uganda.
Does helping the RIGHT countries make one competent? Or does competency come from not doing anything at all? And why single out Bush, and not the Brits, Aussies, Japs, Italians, Poles, Indians etc.?
“If Micahel Moore lied why wasn’t he sued”
Wow, that’s deep. OK, how about “If George Bush lied why wasn’t he sued”?

  15. kate
get your head outta your ass. your accusation that moore is propagandist is entirely true. unfortunately you lack intellectual honestly to point out that rush and his ilk, not to mention the entire bush administration, are also guilty of this. fair’s fair.

  16. You know that is the key, to see the entire picture as it is not as you want it to be. Both sides put have put there spin on it. There is a long way to go in Iraq, anything can happen yet. Perhaps history will write this venture as a success, perhaps not.
I can not help but wonder if there was a less bloodier way of bringing democracy to the middle east. I see the number of the dead and what does it matter to them and there families. I wonder if Bush could not have worked through the UN
more, or waited longer. What was his rush. I wonder about the fallen soldier or the mother crying for her dead child, and wonder if it was worth it or could it have been done differently, of this I plead quility.
