  1. I double-dog-dare you to change your “kneeling next to the motorcycle” photo on the main page to that little drawing (c/w caption, naturally).
Ah, I’m kidding. Instead, I think we should initiate a spam attack on Damian Penny for pointing to that site in the first place.

  2. Can’t really see this one fly but if it does, it could discourage the use of public transit.
Which wouldn’t be good for the enviroment.
Not to mention the increased use of hot water, dastardly detergents and ScotchGuard (TM).
And worse of all, we might never see the return of skin tight white jeans.

But seriously, if guys menstruated they would probably take this approach most of the time. Partly out of general sloppiness, and partly to see who could make the biggest stain. (Hey, look at that! Now that’s flow!)

  4. Couple of beautiful things about this:
    1) It’s obviously written by a middle-aged woman who’s forgotten what it was like in college to overflow and have to wear a sweater with the sleeves tied around her waist for the rest of the day. (Hell: even at a perimenopausal age 42, I’d still soak through several layers of clothing.)
    2) This whole idea of using nothing was originally brought up in the 70s AS A JOKE. I remember reading a parody of radical feminist thinking that proposed this (“let’s be true redstockings!”) in Titters or another anthology of that type. Which goes to show that there is no such thing as parodying old-fashioned radical feminism, because you can’t out-do it: it’s like trying to out-do the National Enquirer back before it was trying to be respectable. Won’t work.

  5. Voon, what do you mean if?
From their mission statement: “We say ‘menstrual health’ instead of women’s health because this is an issue of menstruation, not of gender. Not all women menstruate, and not all people who menstruate are women.”
Being male, I presumed all men were like me and did not menstruate. I was under the impression that it was physically impossible for men to menstruate. Fortunately, the fine folks at tampaction have relieved me of my ignorance.
